If you love your Nintendo Switch, or planning on getting one check out our Top 5 Game Ports and Wii U ports we would love to see on Nintendo Switch.
Animal Crossing: New Leaf
Of course this game was going to make the list. Animal Crossing: New Leaf is by far one of the most entertaining, family friendly, pick-up-able games of all time. Rated 88/100 by Metacritic, the game is even better than previous entries due to it’s improved characters, dialogue and game features. Oh, and also due to the fact that you can fire Resetti. That too.
As you attempt to discover what happened to your missing brother, you venture into the desert, make allies, and work together to create a perfect oasis. Rated 8.9/10 by IGN and described by them as “fun instead of tedious”, this action-adventure RPG was well-received despite it’s tardiness in joining the 3DS in 2017.

Mario Kart 7
Released in December 2011, Mario Kart 7 holds a rating of 85/100 and 9/10 by Metacritic and IGN respectively. The game honours traditional Mario Kart games, whilst also introducing new features such as characters, tracks and power-ups. I’m sorry to say that Rainbow Road is unfortunately still a thing. D̶i̶e̶ ̶a̶l̶r̶e̶a̶d̶y̶.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D
Being the remake of a highly regarded game, upon its release in 2011 the game unsurprisingly received critical acclaim. The game was given a score of 94/100 on Metacritic, a 10/10 by Eurogamer and 98% by the Official Nintendo Magazine, who called it “a life-changing game”.
The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D
Majora’s Mask was also a remake of an original Zelda game. Like Ocarina of time 3D, the game features graphical improvements and new features to make gameplay smoother and richer. Released in 2015, the game was rated 89/100 by Metacritic and 9/10 by GameSpot. Not too shabby.
The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
Released in 2013, A Link Between Worlds is in some people’s opinion, the best Zelda game for 3DS. Scoring 91/100 on Metacritic and a 10/10 by Nintendo Life, a Polygon reviewer went as far as claiming it to be the “best Zelda game in past twenty years”.
Monser Hunter Generations
Monster Hunter Generations is an action RPG released worldwide in 2016. Receiving a rating of 85/100 by Metacritic and 8/10 by IGN, many liked the continuity from previous entries, as well as new features, such as the ability to play as a felyne. A rise in the purchase of 3DS consoles occurred as a result.
Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy
This puzzle game is the last game in the Professor Layton prequel trilogy. It is also the last to feature Professor Layton as the Protagonist (sad reactz only). With over 500 new puzzles and a variety of environments to explore, the game was well received. It is currently rated 81/100 by Metacritic and 9/10 by Eurogamer.
Super Mario 3D Land
Super Mario 3D Land is a Mario platform game released in 2011. The game was well received, with gaming critics praising the game’s creativity and technical design. ·····•····· ᗤ ᗣᗣᗣᗣ

IGN praised the game for creating “an engaging adventure that improves on its predecessors.”
Race, Dodge, and Eat Strawberries as Kirby with your Friends
Nintendo has just released a trailer for a short-but-sweet new Kirby game coming very soon. Kirby’s Dream Buffet is a colorful racing obstacle course multiplayer game like Fall Guys but all food/desert-themed. Yum!
What we know so far is 1-4 players can roll around in sets of 4 matches with a final round being “a fruity fight atop a floating platform.” It does not specifically say whether the multiplayer is only online or if it’s local. However, the disclaimer at the bottom of the game listing saying “sold separately” has me thinking it’s the former.
While dodging things like giant ice-cream cones, gaining speed and power-ups, etc, you’ll also have to collect strawberries along the way. Reaching the end of the levels will tally up and reward the tubbiest Kirby and its adorable. The trailer below shows that there are Waddle-Dees in the race but they look like they’re only NPCs and not playable characters.
Here are 15 super cute games for the 3DS to celebrate the consoles 10th anniversary.
It has been exactly 10 years since Nintendo launched the 3DS in North America. The handheld console may have had a rough start with a price tag a little too high but once Nintendo listened to its fanbase the handheld quickly become a fans favorite gaming machine and has sold more than 75 million units since its original launch back in February 2011.
With the Nintendo Switch just recently celebrating its third birthday, I thought it would be a great idea to take a look at the Nintendo 3DS. Join me on a journey through The 15 Best Cute 3DS Games.
I also compiled a list of my 15 favorite Nintendo 3DS games, so if case you missed that list, check it out! This time I am being a little more specific. Kawaii lovers rejoice! Here are some of the 15 cutest 3DS games.
Disney – Magical World: Released in 2013, Disney Magical World was highly anticipated by Disney fans and kawaii lovers alike. Being cute, wholesome and not requiring commitment, the game is perfect for children, and casual gamers with busy lives. ( get it here )
Disney – Magical World 2: With all the same perks as the game’s predecessor, as well as new characters, outfits, items, minigames, and worlds to explore, this game was also very well received. ( get it here )
Detective Pikachu: Detective Pikachu is a recently released game for the 3DS. Considering the main character of the game (who has a cult following due to his cuteness) is a lil detective (●´ω｀●), it’s safe to say this game is cute. ( get it here )
Pokémon Rumble World: Cuddly toy Pokémon. Those three words scream cuteness (although as Pocket Camp would say, not literally, as that would be terrifying). With the ability to play as a Mii character in a kingdom of toys, the retail version of this adorable game was released worldwide in 2016. ( get it here )
Animal Crossing: New Leaf: OBVS. With a cute alpaca couple, three hedgehog sisters, a pigeon barista, and a town full of anthropomorphic animals, there’s nothing about this game that isn’t cute! This classic installment in the series is still popular today for its adorable aesthetic alone. ( get it here )
Tomodachi Life: Released worldwide in 2014, Tomodachi life is a surprisingly entertaining game. Using mii characters, players can populate the island, unlock new shops and items, form relationships, and even have a baby. ( get it here )
Fantasy Life: Aesthetic AND cute. Released worldwide by Level 5 in 2014, it comes as no surprise that the game is endearing. If slaying dragons isn’t your cup of tea, you can instead enjoy the entertaining storyline and numerous cute features (such as plushlings and pets) that the game has to offer. ( get it here )
Moco Moco Friends: I hadn’t heard of this one until recently. At first I thought “Oh, like Pokémon Rumble?” due to the game’s cuddly toy theme. Apparently, it’s possible to get even cuter than Pokémon rumble, as Moco Moco Friends combines a magic school and cuddly toy monsters whilst also evoking a ghibli-esque theme. ( get it here )
Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask: It’s no secret that the Professor Layton series consists of games with stunning stories, mesmerizing music, and amazing artwork. Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask doesn’t disappoint with it’s colorful carnival-esque theme and unusual plot. ( get it here )
Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy: Admittedly, this game was kind of bittersweet due to being the last main series game to be made. However, with it’s multitude of worlds to explore, treachery, and plot twists, in combination with the usual incredible artwork and music, this game is also a must-play for 3DS owners and Layton fans. ( get it here )
Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Released in 2012, Theatrhythm Final Fantasy is a rhythm video game made by Square Enix with Final Fantasy characters. Rated 8.5/10 by IGN, the chibi game was popular enough to warrant an iOS sequel in 2014. ( get it here )
Kirby: Triple Deluxe: Kirby himself is a little cutie pie (the words of my brother), so naturally the 2014 game Kirby: Triple Deluxe was going to make this list. After Kirby’s friend Dedede is kidnapped by Taranza (who has created a giant ‘dreamstalk’), Kirby sets off to bravely rescue him! Is it just me who finds it hard to take such a cute little hero seriously? Tee hee. ( get it here )
Yo-Kai Watch: Jibanyaaaaaan! Also a product of Level 5, the colourful game Yo-Kai watch is definitely cute with cat yo-kai such as Jibanyan, a scatterbrained butler named Whisper, and it’s anime like features. ( get it here )
Yo-Kai Watch 2 (Bony Spirits, Fleshy Souls & Psychic Specters): Oh mah swirls! Like it’s predecessor, Yo-Kai Watch 2 (which has 3 variations) is also a cute must-play 3DS game. ( get it here )
Return to PoPoLoCrois: A Story of Seasons Fairytale: Described by Hardcore Gamer as “thoroughly charming from the very start”, this 2016 rarely talked about game is definitely cute enough to warrant a play-through. ( get it here )
Here are some of my favorite farming games currently available, or coming soon, for the different consoles.
It seems that these days new farming games are coming out left and right. And because most single-person or small-team indie groups tend to build their games on PC, we get a lot of these awesome farming games on PC first. Compared to ten years ago, Steam is overflowing with farming games! Sometimes they come to console later, but some will remain exclusive forever.
But there is good news for everyone who has a preference for console gaming, or who doesn’t have a game-worthy PC right now. We’ve put together a satisfyingly large list of farming games that are either already available on console, or are confirmed to be coming to console at a later time.
Here are some console games that contain farming, growing or gardening mechanics, and they are all available on at least one dedicated gaming machine that is currently still in production. But they are not all in the same genre, and the emphasis placed on farming is different in each game, so these lists represent a variety.
I hope you’ll spot some of your favorites here, and maybe even have a few more to tell me about, so we can continue to make this list longer and longer.

Tom Nook is ‘switching’ things up with a new business venture. This business venture is his exclusive Nook Inc. Deserted Island Getaway Package. Naturally, the Tanuki isn’t offering this for free. When you have landed on the island, you also find yourself landed with debt (yet again) by the tiresome tanuki.
Like in previous games of the franchise, players can participate in activities such as gardening, fishing, decorating, and interacting with a variety of NPCs (both old and new), etc. However, the game will also offer some new features. Examples include, collecting resources, crafting furniture and tools, new ways to interact with trees and flowers, more diversity in skin tones, outdoor stair, more multiplayer options, the handy ability to pole vault rivers etc.
Then of course there’s the tiny details that Animal Crossing fans quickly picked up on. These include, shirts with sleeves for villagers, overally realistic kneecaps for players’ characters, toe beans, and even shoelaces..
Embrace your fresh start by customising your character and home to your liking. Decorate the island’s landscape (even with furniture, if you so wish), to create your very own perfect paradise.
Utilise a brand new crafting system and collect materials to create a variety of furniture and tools.
Relax and enjoy the activities Animal Crossing is infamous for such as gardening, fishing, decorating and interacting with charming NPCs and more. However, they can now be enjoyed in fun new ways on the deserted island
Up to eight players can reside on one island. Four of these residents residing on the same island are able to play together simultaneously on one console
Up to eight players can play together on one player’s island via either online multiplayer or local wireless. (For more information regarding how multiplayer works, click here).

Hokko Life is an upcoming cute and cozy village life simulation game. The game is being both developed and published by indie game developer Robert Tatnell. Hokko life will be released for PC via Steam at some point this year. The cost of the game is not yet known.
Hokko Life begins with your player stepping off of a train. Having taken over your very own (albeit a little dusty and old) workshop, you are free to craft and create to your heart’s content.
The quiet village which you now call home needs your expertise. Help tocreate an endearing town for those who live there. Armed with paint and tools, design, build and decorate new homes for your new friends.
Players are able to craft materials and combine them however they wish. This allows you to create new and amazing furniture and items for the town. By collecting flowers and mixing paints, you can then use them to design wallpapers, flooring and even clothing.
With plenty of choice, you could design a bright flowery wallpaper set, or instead opt to create an urban-industrial furniture collection. Whatever your taste, with a workshop at hand, you have complete freedom when designing a town for the villagers.
Chop, mine and dig for resources by venturing out to the forest or the abandoned mine. After bringing those resources back to town, you can craft them into materials that are usable in your designs.
Gather materials, head into your workshop and put your own spin on each item you make. The design table lets you build your own furniture. Here you can combine various shapes and materials using a simple yet powerful editor.
Design a variety of wallpaper, flooring and T-Shirts for you and the villagers to wear. Feel like a famous fashion designer and get everyone in town wearing your bespoke designs.
Enlist the help of the local builder in order to begin expanding the town. You get complete freedom over where buildings are located and then need to ensure they are ready for new villagers to move to town.
Customize both the interiors and exteriors of any home. Release your inner interior designer and pick designs and place furniture to create a home your new friends will adore.
Turn any plot of land into a place where plants and vegetables will grow. When your produce is ready, you’ll be able to sell it.
Enjoy quiet moments at the various fishing spots located in Hokko and expand your fishing collection. The fish have unique habits, and so players will need to vary their approaches. Similarly, each catch provides it’s own challenge when you reel them in.
Hokko is home to a wide variety of different insects. These insects can be caught and added to your collection. Be sure to keep a eye out, as some may be hiding in a bush.

The game is expected to be released on Steam at some point during Summer 2020. The game will most likely release on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and MacOS shortly afterwards.

It is likely painfully obvious that MyPotatoGames adores Animal Crossing. Additionally, as a website that provides wholesome video game news, it seemed imperative to create the following article. An article that is a crossover between Animal Crossing: New Horizons and various games which get a thumbs up from MPG.
It is true that we have featured some video game design ID codes in previous articles. However, this crossover article features a huge variety of some seriously cool video game-themed Animal Crossing: New Horizons designs that you can use in the game.
How To Obtain Custom Designs Using ID Codes
Getting the custom designs app on your NookPhone will allow you to create your own designs and to scan QR codes created by others into your game. However, in regards to clothing with QR codes, you will only be able to place tiles, or wear designs as tank tops. However, you can use Nook Miles to purchase the Pro Design upgrade. The upgrade can be purchased from the Nook Stop terminal at Residents Services for a reasonable 800 Nook Miles.
This will allow you to create different items of clothing as ‘Pro Designs’. There are various types of clothing you can then choose from. Examples include balloon-hem dresses, hoodies, sweaters, coats and more. You can also scan QR codes of Pro Designs from New Leaf.
Providing you have a Switch Online Membership, (and have purchased the Pro Design upgrade), you can use this feature. And despite the game being just a few months old, there are already an astounding number of awesome fanmade designs via the kiosk’s portal. Here are just a few of the best gaming-themed ones:
Indie Video Game Design Codes:
Mario Video Game Design Codes:
Zelda Video Game Design Codes:
Pokémon Video Game Design Codes:
Animal Crossing Video Game Design Codes:
Other Video Game Design Codes:
And as the top potato of MyPotatoGames, Henry naturally had to have his very own t shirt as well 😆🥔

It’s true that MyPotatoGames posted an article on things that fans would like to see in the game. However, some of these have now been fulfilled. Additionally, as a few months have passed, players have noticed more things that would make the gameplay experience more enjoyable. Whether it be slight glitches, some multiplayer issues, spontaneous travelling merchants, etc, there are definitely a few more features and improvements that players would like to see.
I took the effort to ask fans what features they would like and improvements that could be made. There’s no denying that the game is extraordinarily entertaining, but take notes Nintendo, as I received hundreds of responses. 😂 Here are some features that would improve Animal Crossing: New Horizons even further.
General Island-Related Features To Improve Gameplay
Having two separate options when terraforming (build and destroy) to save so much time, effort and frustration, and lessen the chance of a Switch console being yeeted out of a window.
Campers being able to roam around your island when visiting
Having more items on sale in Nook’s Cranny
Not being followed around by Mabel and the Nooklings when browsing in their shops (social distancing is a thing guys! Don’t make me get my yard stick!) 😂
Allow bridges and inclines to be built the same day
Return of the Jedi ever so slightly creepy gyroids.
An island planner (like the ones online) that make laying paths, terraforming, relocating things, etc, easier
Being able to relocate the town square. Many players have unfortunately ended up with theirs very close to the airport. However, that’s not to say you can’t work around this. As these awesome island entrances demonstrate:
Features From New Leaf That Would Be Nice
Being able to swim in the sea (and look around underwater) 🏊
Furniture series such as the Mermaid Series, Princess Series, various Sanrio sets, etc. 😔
The introduction of more shops. I miss GracieGrace‘s furniture and clothing, as well as Leif’s gardening store 😭
Minigames/multiplayer minigames like on the New Leaf island tours
Animals popping over to your house, or scheduling times to come and visit
The return of the dream suite, or introducing a similar feature
Features From Pocket Camp That Would Be Nice
The addition of cute and quirky hairstyles and wigs from Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp
The addition of cool items from Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp. For example the cute tents, swings, ferris wheel, treehouse etc.
Animals being able to chill in pools, play on things, and interact with more items like they can in Pocket Camp
Characters From Previous Games That Need To Return
Pete (so I can shoot him down with a slingshot muahaha)
Tortimer (and his minigames)
Brewster (and The Roost)
Phyllis. (She is my spirit animal)
Features Regarding Visiting NPC’s
A genie’s lamp to trap Wisp the absolute pest in
Map markers to show where islanders and NPC’s are located on your island. (Celeste deserves to be featured in the Guiness World Records for best at hide and seek).
The ability to use Mom’s tissues to wipe Daisy-Mae’s snotty nose
A GPS ankle tracker for Gulliver (please!)
Bail Redd out of jail so he actually visits my island again
The option to muzzle islanders who sing for two hours straight. JK. Kinda..
New dialogue for characters, as it can be quite repetitive
Give the animals a bit more personality
Getting more requests from animals, and receiving more interesting tasks
Allowing more villagers to inhabit your island. There’s just too many cute ones! Fans have suggested 12-15 would be a reasonable amount.
Having animals remember you if they leave and then move back in
The ability to sack Isabelle make Isabelle use a swear jar, or rather, a ‘no-one-cares-that-my-new-magazine-arrived-or-that-I-found-a-missing-sock’ jar.
Have announcements from Isabelle when travelling merchants and special NPC’s such as Flick, Saharah, and Redd (when he does..😠) are visiting
Apart from news-that-isn’t-news, and the occasional announcement, Isabelle doesn’t really do a lot. Somebody give that poor doggo a purpose!
Features That Would Save Players Time And Effort
The ability to batch craft items
Being able to bulk buy items such as customization kits
Purchasing multiple items at once in the Able Sisters’ changing room
Stronger tool durability, or at least making golden tools indestructible like in previous Animal Crossing games
Being able to order more than 5 items from the shopping catalogue each day (I’m a shopaholic okay?!)
Being able to rotate the camera 360°
Having a bank card to use when shopping to avoid having to withdraw bells from the ATM in Residents Services
Storage & Space
More storage space in your character’s home
Being able to store DIY materials in workbenches to save on storage space
Being able to store clothing and accessories in wardrobes to also save on storage space
The ability the access your storage when outside of your home
Being able to put flowers (stems) in storage. You can put three monster statues, a teacup ride, three jungle gyms, two oarfish and a shark in storage, but heaven forbid you try to store one white cosmos plant
MORE DESIGN SLOTS!!
Bigger side (and back) rooms in your house
Being able to slap that duplicate DIY recipe out of an animal’s hand when they force you to take it. Kindly being able to decline duplicate DIY recipes offered by crafting animals.
Actually being able to put DIY recipes in your storage
Or introducing a storage box (or something similar) to store DIY recipes
More frequent balloon presents and message bottles containing DIY recipes
A museum gift shop (as has been hinted)
A Nintendo app to link to the game that tracks steps (like the 3DS pedometer), and then rewards players with in-game items for exercising. (Two owls birds with one stone!).
I wanna be able to kick the soccer ball and move about with it.. 🥺
Being able to do things like play minigames on the switch console items
The ability to participate in activities that islanders can do. For example, yoga, weight-lighting, tea-drinking in the square, dangerously running around with sticks in my hands, etc. Just the normal stuff 😊
Being able to place rugs outside in order to save design slots for picnic blankets
The ability to decorate the interior and exterior of islanders’ houses
Custom paths making pattering noises like the other paths
Being able to make and design public buildings like in Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer
The ability to place items at an angle
More bridge and incline designs to choose from
Multiplayer, Dodo Airlines & Glitches
Improved, reliable, online gameplay with faster travel and less oopsies (we do pay for it with Switch Online after all)
The option to tie Orville’s beak together skip/speed through the chitter chatter when travelling with Dodo Airlines
Being able to open and close your gates remotely. It’s a pain when you forget to close them and then can’t terraform until you trek to the airport
The ability to hop from one island to another without having to fly back to your island first
Whilst it’s almost definite that not all of these features will be implemented, it would be fantastic if even a few of them were.
