Dragons have been becoming so popular these days and so are their reptilian cousins, the dinosaurs. We here at myPotatoGames have found a couple games you can play right now, as well as one new one in early development that we will be keeping a close eye on. Some dinos may be ferocious but others can also be cute and lovable, and we want to take care of them forever! Well that dream is now a possibility, see how below.
The game is created by indie developer WashBear Studio, based in Canada. It is available on Steam Early Access here and continues to receive regular updates and added features. The most recent additions to Parkasaurus is the Workshop, where you can change dino skins (rainbow-colored woohoo), add new dinosaurs, add buildings and decorations, and the DinoBook, a guide to mini objectives, and a little insight into the Parkasaurus lore. Most importantly, yes those dinos in the trailer were wearing hats. We here at myPotatoGames are especially fond of that cheese hat. This is just the perfect game to play while we wait for Planet Zoo to release in November.
Parkasaurus challenges the player to plan, design, and construct exhibits that maximize both their Dinos happiness and the park guests’ willingness to spend money! Starting with only a dream and an abandoned park the player will discover new technologies, new attractions, and a special bond with all their Dinos. It’s all captured in stunningly beautiful modernized 3D flat design graphics. In Parkasaurus, fortune is a real possibility and money management is an absolute necessity.
This game has officially just received the green-light to move toward the development phase and therefore we have little to no information other than the dinos will be cute and tamable. Right now we have to make do with the occasional Twitter posts such as: “Here’s an important lesson for any dino rancher! Do you have the skills to tame and earn the trust of wild dinos.” You should also check out the adorable GIFs of dinos below and give them all the support they need!
It’s a casual prehistoric-themed farm/social simulation game where you can catch, collect & ride dinos on your ranch. Build dinosaur pens, keep them happy, and upgrade your farmhouse. Each dino will have different decor needs and preferences for their pens. There will also be a range of colors available for the dinos. Each species will have a specific pool of colors that you can find naturally in the wild.
If you can’t wait to play games with dinosaurs in them, then you can actually play Fossil Hunters right now on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PS4! This game was created by indie developer Reptoid Games, based in Canada and you can go to their official website here. Sure this game isn’t really about live adorable dinos but you can assemble their bones, solve puzzles, and explore underground caverns with your friends!
Fossil Hunters is a casual action-adventure game about digging for fossils and building your own dinosaurs. You are an adventuring Fossil Hunter who has traveled to a remote, mysterious dig site to discover the most incredible fossils the world has ever seen! Discover and assemble your own fossil creations and avoid cave-ins, monsters, and traps while you explore exciting underground environments. Find secrets, treasure, and more as you uncover clues to the whereabouts of the fossil hunters who came before you, and endeavor to reach the very bottom of the caves.
Furthermore, if you want to tame more dinosaurs right now, check out our earlier article on PixARK, the cuter version of Ark. Hope you enjoyed that ride!

Equilinox is a relaxing nature simulation game which allows you to create and nurture your own living ecosystems. To create an ecosystem you place plants and animals into the world, each of which has its own life-cycle, behaviour, and requirements so you need to make sure each species has a decent habitat with sufficient resources. The game was created by Karl Wimble, the solo indie game developer of ThinMatrix. It was released back in 2018 but has had many bug fixes, tweaks, and new features added since, which you can see down below.
Creative Mode, a sandbox mode, was just added to Equilinox today, May 31st, 2019. You now have the freedom to put whatever you want and however much of it you want in your landscape without any restrictions or points needed. You can put things such as 10,000 swarming bees, Super Mario pixel art with mushrooms, millions of multicolored sheep, or a bunch of angry spitting camels. However, all species have to have been previously unlocked in your Normal World. Although. Although, you will have complete control of the day/night cycle (forward, backward, pause) and will be able to get some really nice screenshots in-game. You can take a look at what to expect with Creative Mode in the creator’s YouTube video below as well as a summary.
Flies and carnivorous plants have been added to the game. These plants are able to grab passing flies with their long “tongues” before consuming them.
Meerkats are the first burrowing animals able to dig a network of holes and tunnels in their territory and use them for transport and to hide from predators. They can often be found standing on their back two legs to keep an eye out for danger. Two new plant species were also added for you to unlock. Desert grass provides a new food source for desert biome animals, and the marigolds are pretty flowers which can live in higher altitude woodland areas.
Eagles are now available in Equilinox. These birds live in the mountains but can swoop down to nearby biomes to go hunting for smaller animals. When they catch their prey they carry it back to the nest to feed their young. Furthermore, jellyfish came with the same update as this one. These strange fish will sting any fish that comes too close and can be genetically modified to be harmless or very effective killers. Also, the jungle has one new bush species which blooms spectacularly only once a year.
The most recent addition of species added to Equilinox are dolphins! These aquatic mammals dive in and out of the water when they’re happy.
The developer had mentioned in his latest devlog video that he intends to add pandas to a later update but is already starting to think about moving on to another project entirely. You can catch up all the news you have missed or purchase this game now on Steam here. For other related news, check out our latest article on Planet Zoo and become the very best zookeeper!
We at myPotatoGames absolutely love playing with and taking care of animals. With the rise of virtual reality games, we took a look at the most recent and adorable releases of games. What better way is there to interact with animals then to feel like you’re actually there! Note that a PlayStation VR and PlayStation Camera are required to play, with the exception of Konrad the Kitten. Konrad the Kitten will require a virtual reality headset but not necessarily the PS brand (see available platforms below). All of the games mentioned below are available to play right now!
Konrad the Kitten, created by FusionPlay, was released a year ago but is now getting the best update ever; the addition of kittens. You need to take care of a cat named Konrad by making him play, eat, clean himself or snooze. When switching the game into the optional “Plushy-Mode,” the game asks you to attach your PS Move Controller to the back of a plush toy. Doing so makes your fluffy friend come alive as Konrad in the virtual world. For example, you can hold him in your hands. With the addition of kittens, you can also have Konrad become the nursemaid.
Now, when your energy runs out, it becomes night in Konrad’s world. During the night, little kittens wake up and need the help of Konrad. You need to make sure Konrad cares for these kittens and cleans, feeds and plays with them. Some might even get lost in the world and need to be found and brought back home by Konrad. When all those tiny babies are happy, the night ends, Konrad’s energy is restored and a new day begins.
By leveling up Konrad, you unlock up to nine different little kittens step by step. Each kitten is unique and has its preferences. For example, how often it wants to eat or play. The new updates are available now as of April 24th, 2019. Buy it on the PlayStation Store, Steam, Oculus, or Vive. For more information on what to expect and other new changes to the game, go here.
Dive into a neon seascape as a dolphin with enhanced echolocation powers, and an AI partner, into a world transformed by water. Solve puzzles, hunt for treasure, meet legendary sea creatures, shut down the remnants of mankind’s legacy, and bring the bleached underwater world back to life!
Jupiter & Mars is an underwater adventure set in a future-Earth in which everything science warned us about has come to pass: sea levels have risen from melting ice caps and climate change. As a result, the coastal cities are all but completely submerged. Since man’s disappearance, the oceans have begun to reclaim themselves, with coral and nearly extinct creatures returning to their once-thriving levels. But the artifacts of man’s presence still remain, and an elite race of whales known as the Elders enlist Jupiter and Mars to help neutralize a global network of machines that are disrupting sea life.
Jupiter & Mars, published by Tigertron, launched on Earth Day, Monday, April 22nd, 2019, exclusively for the PlayStation 4 and PS VR. Find out more about it here!
Falcon Age is a first-person, single-player action adventure. Play as Ara and learn to hunt, gather, and fight to reclaim your cultural legacy in the lost art of falcon hunting. Fight against a force of automated colonizers. Bond with a baby falcon and go on an adventure on PlayStation 4 or immersive VR with PS VR.
The game starts on a dying colony planet with its culture destroyed, resources depleted, and turned into a desert by machine invaders. Ara’s been wrongfully thrown in jail for a minor infraction. While she awaits her fate in a lonely cell, she passes the time by befriending a young falcon. Together they escape and set off on an adventure to help the resistance reclaim their freedom and drive off the invaders.
Falcon Age, created by Outerloop Games, is available now as of April 19th, 2019. For more information on the game, go to their official website here.

It’s no secret: Stardew Valley is my favorite cozy game; it’s possibly my all time favorite. I’m eagerly, and impatiently awaiting the release of Haunted Chocolatier, too. Until then, I’m always on the lookout for the next great farming sim. There are some great ones out there, and many more coming out that have potential. One Lonely Outpost was definitely one I’ve had my eye on for a while. Cozy farming sim where you restore the dying planet to its lush former glory and establish a brand new colony of people? Sign me up! Except, it didn’t quite live up to my expectations.
You can find One Lonely Outpost on Steam, and it is undoubtedly cute, and getting to restore the planet, while watching the flora and fauna slowly return is heart-warming. I enjoy the feeling of accomplishment from rebuilding the world into something liveable for my character and the NPCs. Getting to live on a planet that isn’t just some carbon copy of Earth, but actually feels like a surreal, alien planet is perfect. It immerses you into the story more, and makes the game just different enough, but with familiar elements.
What I really enjoyed was that sprinklers unlock early game. I can ramp up my farming almost immediately because of this, and ended up building a sprawling farm. There’s no endless struggling to complete tasks for in-game months while fighting your tiny amount of energy. Plus, it doesn’t feel like an end-game condition or after-thought. I can’t express enough how happy I was to get those sprinklers early.
I know I just praised the sprinklers, but I have to also express how clunky they are. You have the sprinkler itself, which only waters crops within a specific radius of the sprinkler head. That’s normal and common in farming games. However, One Lonely Outpost also requires you to have a water pump placed near a water source, which will then provide water for the sprinklers to water crops. Then, you need solar panels to power those pumps. And each item has a specific range, so to cover a wide area, you’ll need multiples of each. Luckily, you can place a water pump by a water source, then place another water pump within the area of the first, and daisy chain the pumps to cover an area. However, if you’re wanting an aesthetic farm plot, it’s going to take some real planning.
The map is another problem for me. It’s SO low tech. You’re over here crafting food processors, forges, and water pumps from parts, but your map only shows you a broad overview of the One Lonely Planet world. It doesn’t zoom into the specific spot in a region you’re in. It doesn’t have visuals so you can find the paths to other regions. You just have to guess, and really commit the place to memory. Nevermind not having icons for the NPCs, which is fine. Stardew Valley does the same, and that was workable. It just feels a little silly that we’re building a brand new colony with solar panels and cooking stations we’ve crafted, but the map is basically useless.
Fishing is usually my least liked activity in farming sims, because they’re often just annoying. Stardew Valley, for example, has got to be my least favorite fishing activity. It gets easier with practice and new items, but it’s often the skill I ignore when I play. However, the fishing mechanic in One Lonely Outpost is perhaps worse than that. You get this cool little fishing drone that you release into a body of water, which initiates a minigame.
You control the drone by moving left or right, and dashing forward to catch a fish. Then, you play a little minigame where you click when the indicator is inside a tiny bar that moves. Sometimes it’s fast, and sometimes you do this up to three times, and this is what determines if you catch the fish. Unfortunately, the drone maneuverability is not on par with the fish. It’s slow and cumbersome, while the fish are swift and swim away if you approach too close. You also need to resurface before the battery runs out, or you lose your drone, forcing you to buy a new one or make a new one. They’re not that cheap, either.
You can buy drones and other items from Linny. Except, Linny is the new Marnie. I think I successfully caught her in her shop twice, maybe three times since she moved to the planet. I imagine she has a specific schedule I just wasn’t able to suss out, but it sure did make buying necessary items from her unduly difficult.
What really bothered me was the glitching. Most of the time, using my bug catching drone bugged the whole game. When it’s out, it shows an area on the round so you can see if you’re close enough to catch a bug. If I had the drone out and walked to a new region, that area disappeared and I just had to guess. Then, it morphed into only showing up when in one specific region. This issue also caused the areas shown for sprinklers, water pumps, and solar panels. So, I struggled to rearrange my farm unless I did it first thing when turning on the game and before I ever used my bug catching drone.
It has potential, and some of my complaints are more personal preference than a problem with the game. However, there were enough problems that I just didn’t vibe with the game. One Lonely Outpost is in Early Access, though, so there is hope that it has the wrinkles ironed out and it improves. I truly hope it does, too, because I enjoyed the atmosphere of it. Until then, I rate it:
You can check out some of my other reviews, too! Roots of Pacha, DREDGE, and Ooblets are all great cozy games I’d recommend!
There are so many games on sale in the Steam Summer Sale, it’s difficult not check out at least a few. Definitely some of my favorite games that, if you haven’t given a try, you might want to consider adding to your games library. I did checking through, and there are definitely some great deals on plenty of myPotatoGames.
Plenty of Don’t Starve games and content (like the new character for don’t Starve Together), plus other games from Klei. Don’t Starve Together is 60% off, and there is a bunch of DLC on sale for the original title as well. The LEGO franchise is also having a pretty major sale. 60-70% off many major titles from the series, like Harry Potter and Batman.
For those that like the relaxing flow and time management aspect of simulation games, Farming Simulator 19 is currently at 40% off. There, you also find the last few games from the series if you’d like to give them a try. Another good sim game on sale is Zoo Planet, which is currently marked down by 30%.
There were a few other games that should definitely be owned by followers of myPotato games. Portal Knights is 60% off, making it now $7.99. Stardew Valley is currently available for $8.99, a markdown of 40%. And I can’t tell you how many hours I’ve poured into Terraria, which can now be yours for just $4.99, as it is half off in the Steam Summer Sale.
There are plenty more games to check out at the sale, theses are just a few of my favorite games. Check it our for yourself, there are sure to be games that will please any style gamer.
Thanks to IGN’s live-streaming of Gamescom 2019 all week long, we have 15 minutes of gameplay footage to show you of the “cozy management game about dying” by developer Thunder Lotus Games; Spiritfarer. Today, Saturday, August 24th 2019, is the last day for Gamescom. El Hijo, Genesis Noir, Minute of Islands, Mosaic, and Unheard were nominated for Gamescom “Indie Award” by IGN here. El Hijo, a western stealth game we covered during E3 2019, was the winner! The winners of the expert jury’s decision announced during Opening Night Live can be found here.
Below in the video for Spiritfarer you play as the ferrymaster Stella accompanied by her feline furry friend Daffodil. We get to see a total of three spirit characters that request that their final wishes be fulfilled before they are ready to move on. In order to make them comfortable, you add little tiny homes via the Shipyard. You get to place these homes, according to that particular spirit’s needs, wherever you want on your boat. Example, the snake-like spirit, Summer, asks for a home with “a nice meditation room, with plants, and natural materials”. You advance the game by completing quests as Spirit Requests that consists of getting certain items or exploring new islands. One such island is Hummingberg Village. Also, we find it important to note that you can hug any of your spirit friends because it’s quite precious.
Spiritfarer will be releasing on Steam, Xbox One, PS4, and the Nintendo Switch sometime in 2020. If you enjoyed watching this gameplay footage from Gamescom 2019, check out our articles here: Link’s Awakening Remake Footage at Gamescom and Two Point Hospital Reveals Close Encounters DLC.
