There are plenty of new Mario themed items you can collect through the Nooks Shopping App, mushrooms, coins, stars, Whomp blocks, bricks and so much more. One of the most interesting items you can grab is a fully working Warp Pipe!
Not only do they look identical to the ones you know from any Mario game but they also feature a fun function! Once you place two working warp pipes on your island you can hop in one of them and you will be teleported to the second one. This can be a great way to travel around your island.
But even more interesting, if you place more than two warp pipes on your island your destination will be randomized making for some fun scenarios.
And of course give how creative the Animal Crossing community is, it comes at no surprise that some players have already found brilliant ways to use the new warp pipes!
If you haven’t seen all the new furniture and villagers coming to Animal Crossing New Horizons, make sure you take a peak at the Sanrio collection featuring Hello Kitty and more!

After the massive success of the Sanrio collection in New Leaf Nintendo finally announced its return to Animal Crossing New Horizons. If you have not played Animal Crossing New Leaf, with the help of a bunch of Amiibo cards you were able to summon different Sanrio designed items including some Hello Kitty themed furniture.
Nintendo released a brand new trailer featuring the adorable collection and showing off every item and villager you can get using the Amiibo cards. If you are in possession of the cards you will be able to scan them right now but you may only get Sanrio themed poster items. Beginning March 18th you can also use these cards to summon villagers and even complete furniture sets!
The Sanrio Amiibo Cards are currently expected to release on March 26th. European retailers have accepted pre-orders but quickly sold out. I recommend waiting for the official wave of shipments before spending north of 100 dollars on trading website for a single card. Nintendo promised to stock these cards well throughout the year.
For the first time Nintendo announced 3 seasonal item collections in advance. Take a look at all the adorable things you can grab now and very soon.

If you haven’t heard yet, Animal Crossing New Horizons is getting a major Mario update featuring a bunch of adorable items and clothing to turn your island into a Mario wonderland.
One of the most functional and interesting new items is the Mario warp pipe. It looks identical to the one you may have seen and jumped through in the many Mario games available over the last 35 years.
You can place two warp pipes on your island and once you jump into one you will be teleported to the second one placed anywhere on your island.
You can even place one in your own home and place the second one on the beach, by the town plaza or anywhere else you wish to travel to from the comfort of your home.
Of course you can place more than two on your island, if you choose to do this and you enter one pipe, the final destination will be random and you will be teleported to one of the many warp pipes you have on your island.
Having the ability to randomize your destinations with multiple warp pipes will give creative players interesting ways to build mazes as the pipes will work in multiplayer sessions as well.
The update will go live on February 25th but to get the items from Nooks Shopping app you will have to wait until March 1st.
Take a peak at the trailer below to watch the warp pipes in action!

There are plenty of holidays coming up and you will be able to celebrate all of them in Animal Crossing New Horizons. For the very first time Nintendo gave us a good look at all the seasonal items to become available in the Nook’s shopping app soon!
Hinamatsuri Day is a Japanese holiday and translates to “Girl Day” to celebrate this special occasion you will be able to purchase the Girl’s Day Doll Set and Bonbori lamp beginning February 25th and it will disappear from the shop on March 3rd.
The second holiday Nintendo previews is Pi Day. You will be able to buy a delicious looking pie from March 3rd- March 14th the reason for this holiday is that March 14th can be read as 3/14 which is the numerical constant in π.
Of course we can’t forget about the greenest holiday of the year. St. Patricks day will make an appearance in Animal Crossing New Horizons with an adorable Shamrock Rug, Shamrock Soda and even a Shamrock Door Plate. These items will only be available from march 10th to March 17th. Nintendo also mentioned that the Able Sisters will have some surprises in store for us.

It has been a long time since we got a full Nintendo Direct featuring upcoming and current games – 530 days to be exact. Nintendo announced a 50 minutes Direct to be aired tomorrow February 17th. As usual not much information about the content of the showcase was given but the big N promised some news for Smash Bros Ultimate and other upcoming games for the first half of 2021.
The announcement did not include Animal Crossing New Horizons but fans from around the world are eagerly waiting to see what is coming next to New Horizons. With the first year anniversary upon us the life simulation game is going into its second year.
Animal Crossing New Horizons has received plenty of updates in the past 11 months. New features, a handful of events and other smaller things made it into the game to keep fans coming back to take care of their islands.
However, a bigger 2.0 update is expected introducing game changing new features. In recent updates data miners have found code in the game hinting at farming and furthermore the possibility to schedule house visits with villagers and new furniture categories such as ceiling items. And last but not least hints have been made suggestion the return of Brewster – we want our favorite barista back!
While farming, Brewster and a new furniture category could make it into the game one day, there is no guarantee if and when this may happen – it is a common practice to put unfinished code into the game before the features is actually ready to be made available to players.
Speculation arose that Nintendo could talk about the 2.0 update coming to New Horizons in the upcoming Direct since the first anniversary is coming up. Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 is also among the rumored games to be shown tomorrow, although a release for the game is not expected until the end of this year so it may not be a good fit for this Direct.
Of course these are just rumors and to be taken with a grain of salt at this point – but it won’t be long until we can find out for ourselves on February 17th at 2pm PT 5pm ET. You can watch the Nintendo Direct livestream below.
