If you haven’t yet heard of Garden Paws, it’s a farming simulation RPG created by Canadian indie developers Bitten Toast Games. We here at myPotatoGames have been playing the game on Steam but you’ll also be able to play the content-complete version on the Nintendo Switch December 2019. This game has been one of our favorites this year if you want to check out our previous review.

    Spring 15 Easter Egg Hunt

We’ve given you a list of tips for beginners, and now we’d like to share with you all of the Easter Egg locations in the town of Florens, including screenshots. Spring will be the first season you start with and every single year on Spring 15, Ester comes to town with the most amazing of prizes! If you’ve played through several years, like us, and get excited every time Spring comes along but you can’t quite find all of the eggs, well this is the guide for you! However, if you haven’t unlocked every new villager in Florens so far, know that there may be spoilers ahead.

If you want to try and find them on your own, you have until the end of Spring to do so but know that if you find all 20 eggs before, Ester will give you a bonus 10 Tickets! You’ll also want to do this all in a day or two as there is no indicator of which egg you found and haven’t yet found. There is an in-game achievement tracker but it only displays the amount you’ve found. Keep all of the eggs in your inventory (which you’ll probably need to expand at least once) and open all of your eggs at the same time.

Some eggs are rarer than others and will contain better randomized prizes as well as some Tickets. These prizes alone are worth the effort but on top of that, once you’ve collected enough Tickets, you can trade for select Easter-related prizes. You’ll probably need to save up and try again next year for the bigger prizes. Now onto the hidden Easter Egg locations!

    All 20 Easter Egg Locations

    • At the town gate, on the other side of Charlie, inside a wood bush.
    • Climb inside the walled part of the town’s gate, go past the treasure chest to the other open edge.
    • Hidden inside one of Malu’s cabbages behind their stall. Malu is the one that sells cloth.
    • Go to Boris, the one that sells backpacks and storage upgrades, and find the egg directly behind their stall.
    • Next to some crates directly behind Abby’s stall. Abby is the one that sells crops.
    • Inside a Plant Fiber near Ester. Go past Ester and just beyond the first tree near the hill at the bottom where there are stones.
    • Inside of the well in the middle of the town square.
    • Inside a Plant Fiber just behind Miller’s wheat farm. You may not have unlocked Miller yet so go near the pond at the second cave in the town.
    • Inside the town’s first mining cave, go to the left next to a torch you can light. Nestled in between a giant pointed stone and two other little ones (inside the inner edge of the pond) is where you’ll find the egg.
    • Inside the exact same cave, jump on either the minecart or the lower stones to get to the very top right-hand corner above a tunnel entrance that you cannot enter.
    • Inside the pond on the opposite side of the Plant Fiber cave entrance in town. You may not yet have a dock there yet but you can see the egg submerged underwater inside some seaweed.
    • In the same pond area in town, jump on top of the stones to the Plant Fiber cave entrance. The egg is a bit hidden by the grass.
    • Go directly behind the Mayor’s house (next to Beltran) which is on a bit of a hill. The image below may look a little different if you haven’t upgraded their home to the Town Hall. Either way, it will be in the middle near the sign on the wall,
    • There’s an unused red-roofed home right across from Beltran, the town’s Blacksmith, Go to the back where there’s a door and find the egg under the steps next to a large tree,
    • If you don’t yet have the Wanderer and his house/Museum, you’ll want to climb one of the tallest hills in town close to Mr. Jones. It’s inside one of the Plant Fiber bushes just below the highest point on the side facing Mr. Mooney.
    • Inside the closest water bucket behind Mr. Jones and in his chicken coop. You can jump over the fence where it’s lowest or stand on something to glide over.
    • Right next to Mr. Jones’ house in the front there are two buckets and a barrel. The smallest bucket has the egg inside.
    • Inside Mr. Mooney’s barn area there are three stacks of hay next to the entrance. You’ll find the egg wedged in between there.
    • Across from Mr. Mooney on the beach facing some islands, you’ll find an egg under a bench.
    • Go all the way back around to Frank’s little balcony at the back of his house. You’ll need to climb the hill next to them to either glide or do very well-timed jump to be able to reach this egg.

    Trading Tickets for Easter Prizes

Now you’ve found all of the Easter Eggs in Garden Paws! The prizes range in Ticket prices (10, 25, 75, etc) for the following items: several skins for your character, different colored bunnies (i.e. purple) for your habitats, balloons you can hold or use as decoration, decorated egg-shaped storage items, an egg tree, a bird bath, a large egg centerpiece, several aprons and crowns/hats, and a large blue flower fountain.

We hope this guide was helpful to you and if you have any questions, please feel free to leave us a comment! Next time we’ll be making a post about the newly added Summer Festival which includes several mini-games and summer prizes! Save up your coins because you’re going to need them!

Alchemy Story is coming to Steam Early Access this August 22nd and you’ll be able to transmute six villagers and complete the first part of the storyline. Meaning, there will be some adorable animals walking around town that were former humans but have been cursed by the Witch. They need your help to remember who they are! You’ll also get to farm, fish, garden, forage, chop some trees, mine, and brew potions. See below for Éloïse Laroche’s, the sole creator of the game, newest update which includes one last spellbound character and some other amazing new additions.

    Devlog – July 2019

After helping this mysterious cat complete his transmutation, all spellbound villagers will be liberated from the Witch’s curse! While the village will be restored, this doesn’t mean the end of your quest. On the contrary, a new chapter will begin once you meet the Witch…

Luckily, a few villagers weren’t spellbound and this fisherman, Aiden Luckywave, is one of them! You’ll be able to chat with him to get your first fishing pole, learn some fishing tips and complete deliveries to earn some gold.

Research and brew six new potions, such as the Forester Potion which will increase your luck when cutting down trees, or the Golden Brew to gain a random amount of gold when you drink it!

Unlock different outfits and hairstyles in the villager’s shops! Once an outfit is purchased, it’s placed in your dresser and you can change clothes from home. The plan is to add more clothes you can unlock from quests and secret areas around the village later on.

If you missed the last update for Alchemy Story, you can read our article here: Snacko, Alchemy Story, Ooblets, & Button City Indie Updates. You can also view some of our gameplay footage of an earlier demo of the game here: Alchemy Story – Demo Version Summary. Something that was mentioned in our demo was how adorable the chicks are with their little red bows so naturally we here at myPotatoGames will be all over that new in-game T-shirt.

Boundless is a subscription-free MMO maintained by optional in-app purchases. Hunt, trade, craft, build an empire with friends and become Boundless. This action/adventure RPG developed by indie studio Wonderstruck and published by Square Enix released on Steam and PS4 (PSN) back in 2018. Now there’s been a large and significant update since July 16th, 2019 so you can get back into the game online and enjoy the Harvest Era! Our bread and butter just so happens to be farming here at myPotatoGames so we highlighted that new addition below!

    Farming

    The developers stress that Boundless has very unique farming a variety of different angles. Even the crops themselves should be pretty interesting. For example, some of the things you’ll be able to cultivate include;

    • Organic crops, including the classic Earthyams and Starberries, but also a set of new items. Some of these will grow from the ground, but others will grow from hanging vines, so think vertically when planning your farm!
    • Inorganic fuel crops. Combustion Fraction and Kindling Mass can be cultivated in underground setups, grown away from the sunlight of the surface. These subterranean farms will need to be planned very differently from overground farms.
    • Goo – when searching Gem or Lucent Exoworlds, players will be able to gather Kernels from Goo. These are then planted in, and will grow down from, a cave roof. Goo Pigments are harvested from these, If they have been planted in Gleam they’ll even take on its colour. These are then used in Colour Sprays – a whole other system which we’ll discuss in a moment…

Use the new farming tools such as The Hand Tiller to prepare the soil for crops, and the two new Fertilizers which will help increase the yield of said crops. There are many modifiers in place which will affect the success and productivity of a farm, such as soil type, nearby vegetation, and proximity to water. The right combination of each of these will allow crops to grow faster and more abundantly, so green-fingered Citizens will have plenty of room for experimentation. There are also new Skills to build in farming, allowing characters to become specialists in this area of the game. Irrigation is one of those important factors, whether that be with water for above ground crops, or lava for some of the more exotic offerings.

To find out more about the Harvest Era update specifically, you can go to their updates on Steam right here. Furthermore, you can continue reading below if you are unfamiliar with this game and the general gameplay.

We had previously mentioned this breathtakingly beautiful adventure simulation game was coming to Windows, Mac, Steam, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch sometime in 2019. However, the developers, studio Chibig, have just announced today that they will be self-publishing which will take a lot more work and time! During the winter months the team will be working on localization, platform ports (the Nintendo Switch version is already functional), and testing. Meaning, the release date has been delayed to February 2020. Don’t worry though, we believe it will be well worth the wait! See below for what we can look forward to and check out their Kickstarter page here for more information.

Summer in Mara is centered around the main island Qälis, a small town with different Qüidos, humans, cat-children, and a few Elit. In this city, you can see the mixture of cultures scattered all through Mara. In Qälis, you will meet people, trade with them, and discover lots of secrets about Mara’s exotic and ancient structures. You’ll be able to befriend all of these villagers but you’ll also be able to craft, grow livestock, and plant trees and crops!

About Some of the Local Shops and Villagers

The Market: Three twins run this place, but be careful with them, since they can be really tricky.

Qälis Temple: Meet Blu, a strange individual that doesn’t talk much. But when Blu talks… nobody knows what he meant.

Taka’s Restaurant: He’s a famous and great chef, but very traditionalist. Brram, his nephew, wants to be like his uncle but also wants to explore the galaxy.

The Forge: Akaji is the blacksmith in Qälis. In her forge, you can see her latest work. Like, well, can you see what emerge from the ground?

The Adventurer: Onzo is a cat-child, but also the adventurer like you! He keeps all kind of stories in his diary!

Awan’s Tavern: It’s a great place to enjoy a different meal. But a lot of Qüidos don’t like this kind of “cuisine”.

The Other Villagers: Taima is a pirate that doesn’t know what pirates are, Fink is an Elit engineer, and Mayo is the worst waitress in Mara.

Studio Chibig plans on keeping us all updated on the progress of the game more often and will be letting all of their backers know more about the physical rewards which will still be releasing on schedule. In the meantime, check out our articles Ahoy Potatoes! Stranded Sails Announces Release Date and Platforms and Critter Cove: An In-Depth Interview on this Cute Adventure on the High-Seas for more island adventures!

Éloïse Laroche, the sole developer behind this adorable title, has recently announced that she will be releasing her game on Steam Early Access this August, and can already be added to your wishlist. To get caught up with Alchemy Story, read our article about it here. Now let’s dive in to her Devlog post for the month of March 2019.

    Day & Night Cycle

A welcome addition to the game is that of the transition from day to night. There are now wonderfully detailed animations of the sun in the morning sky and the stars at night.

    The Fairykeeper

Jasmine Lightwing has a relationship with the fairies and will help us with gaining their trust as well! This means new areas to explore.

    Forest & Lumber

You now have the ability to cut down trees and to collect the lumber. This and other upcoming features of things you will be able to do in the forest are as follows:

    • Axe upgrades. These will allow you to cut down trees faster and lose less energy.
    • Energy potions. You’ll be able to regain your energy without leaving the forest.
    • Special levels. You’ll encounter unique forest levels.
    • Hot air balloon. This will allow you to fast travel to a specific level.

    The Garden

Another exciting update is that of the new garden features. Walk over to your crops and see their names as well as how many days are left until they are ready to harvest. This will make farming so much easier! Charlotte will have garden bed expansions for sale in her shop.

Moreover, some other character animations for Arabella and technical updates have been added such as the ability to zoom in and out with the camera. You can check out the details of the Devlog on the Patreon page here. If Alchemy Story piques your interest, stay tuned on our website for an upcoming review of the game!

Snacko is a farming simulation game developed by an indie studio called bluecurse, based in Vancover, BC, Canada. The founders, husband and wife Jordan and Erisa, wanted to create a world “where cats rule the land” and so the project began in 2018. Snacko is expected to release sometime in the year 2021 for PC and Nintendo Switch.

We here at myPotatoGames obviously can’t get enough of cat games so the game Snacko, where you play as cat, is the purr-fect game to talk about! Who doesn’t love those furry, squishy, soft, adorable balls of fluff! On the Island of Snacko, where a terrible event happened, corrupting the native creatures and causing the inhabitants to leave, it is up to you to find the source of the evil and bring the land back to life.

    Features

    • Classic farming sim gameplay: farm, fish, cook, and craft!
    • Customize your farmland: craft different types of fences, storage units, and more. Use these objects to spruce up your plot of land.
    • Customize your town: choose from a variety of exterior styles for houses, decorate with different items your villagers could interact with.
    • Recruit a variety of villagers: send out letters to seek help in rebuilding the island. Based on what you write, different types of animals will reply. Who will you choose to move in?
    • Explore and unlock new areas: recruiting different types of villagers will unlock new areas to explore. Each area has their own unique resources, monsters, and mysteries to solve.
    • Play your way: experience a cute and cozy island with a simple story. It’s up to you to fill in the details! What’s your ideal island?

One of the newest features that was recently announced is the use of many more tools, starting with sprinklers. For more on information on what the developers are currently working on, go to their website here. For our latest news on a similar farming game, Stardew Valley, go here.

Sprinklers will help to speed up your farming!
