Now that it’s the fall, I’ve been in a very festive mood for Halloween. That’s why I found OBAKEIDORO available now on the Nintendo Switch eShop for only $19.99! This creepy-but-cute party game (up to 4 players) is developed by FREE STYLE and was the winner of BitSummit 7 Spirits Popular Selection Award. In this PVP game fun for the whole family, you have 3 minutes in which three Humans face off against one Monster. Gameplay can be as deep or casual as you want to make it!

    About OBAKEIDORO

As a Human, don’t just simply run away! Use your Lantern Attack to fend off the Monster. If you time it just right, you might be able to turn the tides in your favor. As the Monster, utilizing your powerful skills is key to your victory. Use skills like Glide and Track to capture the Humans. Can you escape the Monster? Can you hunt down the Humans?

    The Story

“The demon world comes to light in the dead of the night.”

Two children, lost in a world full of monsters.

Can they make their way home unharmed?

For more gameplay information on the game, you can check out the official website here. For another game with a similar dark atmosphere, check out our article here: A Juggler’s Tale – A Sidescrolling Puppet Theater Game.

Since I last mentioned Onsen Master’s Kickstarter a couple of weeks ago, a few announcements have been made by the indie developers, Waking Oni. For one, the Kickstarter campaign has been funded 100% with the first stretch goal unlocked. The first stretch goal included additional skins for your playable character Mu. See below for news on this hot spring management game coming to PC and Mac sometime in 2020!

Onsen Master Partners with Whitehorn Digital

This is most exciting news as Whitehorn Digital are the indie publishers behind Calico; the adorable simulation game filled with magical girls, cats, and a cafe! With their support, the developers of Onsen Master can now bring the game to consoles! A more official announcement of platforms and release dates will be coming at a later date. For now, the aim is to bring Onsen Master to PS4, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch. If you’re a backer of the Kickstarter, you’ll soon be receiving a survey asking your preferred platform version.

    Onsen Master Adds Multiplayer

The developers have announced that for the past month, they have been working on couch co-op for Onsen Master. They have just started testing an iteration with multiplayer now and it looks to be coming along nicely! Both players will each be controlling their own Mu (main character) which makes the stretch goal mentioned above a lot more fun to play around with. Meaning, you’ll be able to differentiate yourselves with additional costumes to wear during gameplay.

More information on the co-op feature will be coming soon as the developers are still uncertain on how it will be implemented saying the following: “Be it through the Main Story or the straight to the point Arcade Mode, you and a friend will soon be able to tackle rejuvenating the Onsens across Izajima!”

Look forward to finding out more as I keep a close eye on this frantic indie game inspired by Spirited Away and Overcooked where you greet customers, mix your ingredients, and heal their ailments!

Unrailed is a chaotic co-op multiplayer (online and local) where you have to work together with your friends to build a train track across endless procedurally generated worlds. Master random encounters with its inhabitants, upgrade your train and keep it from derailing! Unrailed is developed by Indoor Astronaut and published by Daedalic Entertainment and blibili. This adorable low-poly voxel inspired building game is available now on Steam Early Access here.

    About Unrailed!

Your train is constantly moving and you have to hurry to build tracks by gathering the resources (wood, iron) around the unique levels. However, you only have access to one of each tool type within your team. Cooperating is therefore paramount as you will also encounter several obstacles. For example, flocks of ‘unbudging’ cows, choke points due to the terrain, and the possibility of your engines catching fire. Upgrade your train to effectively overcome certain obstacles by adding an atomic engine, upgrading your crafting wagon, attaching a supercharger, and more! You can choose to play cooperatively with up to 4 friends, or if your teammates don’t conduct themselves to your liking, compete against them in 2 vs. 2 challenges!

    Key Features

    • An intense and chaotic railroad construction experience
    • Online and local couch co-op multiplayer
    • Procedurally generated worlds with different difficulty levels
    • Dynamic weather system & day and night cycle
    • Game modes: Endless, Quick (up to 4 players) and Versus (2 vs 2 players)
    • Distinct biomes (5+)
    • A bunch of upgradable wagons (10+) to modify your train in Endless mode
    • Unlockable characters
    • A replay system
    • Simple controls & split controller mode
    • Blocky to the core

If you’re a fan of this art style and procedurally generated maps, then check out our article here: Cube World Is Finally Within Our Reach. If you like doing puzzles that involve trains, go here: All Aboard on Steam – Locomotion is Out Today.

Moving Out is developed by SMG Studio in collaboration with Devm Games but now they have announced today that they are partnering with Team17 as their publisher! Team17 has published amazing games such as Overcooked, Automachef, Yooka-Laylee, and more, so we’re very excited that they’ll be helping out this hilarious cooperative action and simulation game! Moving Out is now coming out sometime in 2020 on PS4, Nintendo Switch, PC (Steam), Xbox One. If you’re going to PAX West this weekend, you can even try the game for yourself at Team17’s booth on the show floor! The luckiest among you can receive these wild free plushies.

Below we have a new trailer in the form of a training video to becoming a F.A.R.T. and we are so here for it. Looks like we can customize the heads of our characters (i.e. a lizard’s and flower-pot head). Also new in the trailer is the rounding up of farm animals, because farmers can move out too. Expertly move furniture with friends, get creative, and enjoy the beautiful frustration of this physics-based game! Moving in this game also seems to be quite the dangerous affair with the running through traffic and being chased by ghosts so we’re in for a good time.

Heave Ho, developed by Le Cartel Studio, is a silly multiplayer adventure about swinging and dangling with your friends to reach the other side of the level without falling! The game is available now on the Nintendo Switch eShop and Steam here. Furthermore, there’s even a special promotion on Steam for 10% off today until September 6th, 2019! You can also try it out right now if you’re at PAX West this weekend.

We love when characters from other indie games cross-over into another, like in Riverbond, so we’ve listed all of the tweets the developers have posted below on other games by publisher Devolver Digital. These hilarious representations of some of our favorite characters come from the following games: My Friend Pedro, Enter the Gungeon, Gris, The Messenger, Katana ZERO, Gato Roboto, Absolver, Hotline Miami, and Pikuniku.

Besides these unique characters, you can customize your own with a large variety of stylish accessories! Moreover, you can change the following features of your little weird blobs with arms: costume, skin color, hair, glasses, face, arms, and voice. With PAX West 2019 starting tomorrow, August 30th, 2019 in Seattle, we’ve been keeping an eye on the Indie MEGABOOTH. Maybe we were just hungry at the time but we happened to find a few indie games releasing sometime next year that look absolutely adorable and mouth-watering. If you’re attending this large gaming convention, you can find Cake Bash at booth 37 and Boomerang Fu will be featured among 9 other indie games at PAX 10 Showcase. Besides being able to see gameplay footage from these tasty games, you will have access to other treats such as pins. We’ve WHIPPED up a list of games you’ll certainly KNEAD to save your DOUGH for.

    Boomerang Fu

Boomerang Fu is a frantic physics fighting game. Choose from an adorable cast of food characters and slice up your friends with boomerangs and a ridiculous range of stackable powerups. Each match of Boomerang Fu can be a finely-balanced ballet of blades or a comedy of errors. Simple controls let newcomers grill, chill and tenderise their opponents within seconds, while advanced players will uncover the hidden depths of this lost martial art by learning to deflect attacks and curve boomerangs around corners. And everyone can use the environment against their foes, setting off traps, hiding in bushes, or pushing one another into treacherous koi ponds. Boomerang Fu is created by indie studio Cranky Watermelon and is coming soon to PC/Mac. You can wishlist the game now on Steam here.

    Cake Bash

Fight to be the tastiest cake! A party game for up to four players with very unique hazards – bash your friends, dash away from danger and have a delicious time! Cake Bash is a manic party game where the goal is to make yourself as irresistible as possible. Cover yourself in chocolate, jelly beans and all manner of sugar-studded goodies to become the tastiest cake, but watch out – your rivals will do anything to stop you, whether it’s by clouting you with a spork, knocking you into pigeon poop, or covering you in all manner of gunk! The game is developed by High Tea Frog and published by Coatsink, the publishers behind the adorable game PHOGS! Cake Bash is baking until early 2020 for consoles and PC. You can wishlist the game now on Steam here.

    Cranked Up

In this platforming game, an evil Hawaiian pizza rules the world. He has kidnapped your favorite cup of coffee and threatens to cover all the food with pineapple. Your mission will be to save the cup (and the world at the same time). Discover a quirky universe, with colorful characters and a script written by a 6 year old child. A clever rocket system allows you to move, but despite its simplicity it remains challenging. You have to activate the right rocket at the right time, otherwise you risk going back in the wrong way. Once mastered you can then go from roof to roof, jump chasms and create your own way to the coveted coffee. Cranked Up is developed by BBlack Studio and is releasing sometime in 2020 on Steam Early Access here.

We’ve contacted the developers of Cranked Up if they will be attending PAX West but we just couldn’t leave it out of this smorgasbord. If you’re interested in other games that are coming to the con, check out our article here: Developers of Moving Out are Teaming with Team17.

One of the greatest multiplayer cooking simulation games, Overcooked 2, probably needs no introduction. The developers Ghost Town Games and the publishers at Team17 have revealed the 3rd and final DLC of their Season Pass. Each DLC can be purchased separately but the DLC so far included in The Season Pass are priced at £14.99/€16.99/$19.99 and include Night of the Hangry Horde and Campfire Cook Off. Now that pack also includes Carnival of Chaos which will be coming to Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4 and Xbox One on September 12th, 2019!

As per usual, this DLC will include new chefs, new kitchens, and new recipes! This time the theme is that of a literal and figurative circus which includes carnival foods such as hot-dogs, doughnuts, and maybe popcorn. In the reveal trailer we see a strong-man and jugglers, as well as one of the players blasting out of a cannon! This game will probably have us all breathing fire! Get it, fire-eaters? We here at myPotatoGames are also loving the adorable pupper Kevin in the corner hanging out with a balloon animal.

The presentation of Kerbal 2 at Gamescom 2019 Opening Night Live surprised us! We were watching this very realistic-looking video of a rocket ship travelling through the stars, with some very serious music playing…and then all of a sudden these adorable bug-eyed little green dudes started piling out!

Described as a ‘space flight simulation game’, Kerbal Space Program 2 seems like quite the deceptive game. At first glance it appears to be very serious, but no game with a Kerbal in it could be all THAT solemn. They reminded us a little of the minions in Despicable Me. But they’re not minions…they’re Kerbonauts. And you can watch their trailer here:

    Build on the old

The game will feature “Improved Onboarding”. We think that rocket science is not something you accidentally learn, but apparently that is how Kerbals do it. Accidentally! The game will have animated tutorials, a better user interface, and revamped assembly and flight instructions to make Kerbal 2 fun for experienced players and beginners alike.

    And add some new, too!

You will also be able to build and use “next-gen” engines, fuel, parts…everything you need to be the best Kerbonaut and explore not only the entire Kerbolar System, but even beyond it! And NEW to the series are colonies. They are a challenge to build, and will also require you to gather resources to build stations, housing and other structures. But your colonies will grow and become advanced enough to support vehicle construction, furthering space exploration even more.

The better your spacecrafts, the more you will be able to explore. You can discover unique celestial bodies, such as “Ovin”, a massive ringed planet with intense gravity. Or perhaps “Rask and Rusk”, a pair of planets “locked in a dance of death” will be more to your interest!

Kerbal 2 will have modding that builds on what was available with the first game. And for the first time, multiplayer is also an option! Not much is known yet about multiplayer in Kerbal 2, but the official site assures us that we will learn more soon. The game will come to PS4, Xbox One and PC in 2020!

If you like seeing cute things in space, then have a look at our Astro Bears Review.
