    Grow Crops and Sabotage Opponents

Farm Your Friends is like Among Us, but farming. While you won’t be sneaking around a spaceship to sabotage the other players, you are trying to become the best farmer through hard work and sabotage. Gather up to 8 people and see who will outwit the rest to become the best farmer!

As a fast-paced, competitive multiplayer game, Farm Your Friends isn’t one to relax with. Players will run around planting crops and harvesting them when they’ve grown. Or, you could skip all of that and just steal the crops from your opponents! You’ll be able to choose from different traps, too, in order to protect your precious farm. Place a land mine to turn players to ash, a carnivorous plant to eat your enemies, or even a fun spring-loaded ground tile to fling opponents away. Perhaps even forming alliances will help you win, too. Defend your farm at all costs!

The fun doesn’t end, or even begin there. Each player will be able to customize their character by choosing from a variety of costumes, similar to Overcooked’s character choices. Plus, farming and sabotage aren’t the only things to worry about. Farm Your Friends also has random events like being struck by lightning or attacked by a shark.

    Release Date TBA

Unfortunately, this cute and frenetic multiplayer has no release date available. However, you can Wishlist it on Steam to keep up to date with it!

For another frenzied co-op game, check out Camped Out!

The humans hide, the monsters seek!

A perfect game to get into the Halloween spirit, Obakeidoro! is playable by up to four players and has online or offline capabilities. So, grab your friends and play a spooky game of cat and mouse, and keep away from the monster.

The humans have three minutes to organize themselves, work together to escape the monsters, and run! Get captured, and you’re put into a locked cage. Your fellow humans must then push two buttons to release you. But be careful! If all humans are captured, they lose! However, the humans aren’t only limited to running. Each one carries a lantern that can be used to shine a bright light on a monster as it closes in. The light temporarily stuns the monsters, giving the humans more time to run and hide.

Obakeidoro! Isn’t limited to playing as humans, though. One player can also play as the monster! As the monster, use your skills to capture the humans and throw them in the locked cage. Remember, if you capture all humans, you win! Float through obstacles like walls and trees to get at the humans easier. Or even use the Track skill to find them.

As you progress through the different levels of the game, players can unlock different lanterns they can then buy and use. Some even have special skills to help the humans avoid the monsters. You can also unlock different monsters to face off against, who also have different and new skills to use against the humans.

Free to Play for a limited time through Trials for Nintendo Switch Online members

Obakeidoro! Was originally released August 29, 2019, but right now it’s free to play for Nintendo Switch Online members through the Trials program. From Today, October 26th, 2022 to November 1st, the game is free to play. And there’s a handy little timer countdown on the game icon to keep up with how long it has left! Otherwise, you can buy the game on the Nintendo Switch shop

For other cute games good for Halloween, check out our list here, Love, Ghostie for a ghostly good time, or even Beacon Pines for more of the creepy, mysterious vibe.

    Create Your Own Adventure

In Kokopa’s Atlas, play as clumsy little Kokopa, who fancies himself a galactic hero. He has crash landed on a mysterious new undocumented planet. Now, he’s stuck on this new planet and must create a new life for himself. Join Kokopa on his journey to explore this brand new planet and build himself a home and life.

The good news is Kokopa isn’t alone! As you explore, you’ll come across settlements with different NPCs to interact with. Plus, there are different kinds of creatures in the wilderness who interact with each other. Just be careful as some are aggressive! Also keep an eye out for other intergalactic troubles like space pirates. Can you keep your new home safe from all the threats this new planet has?

Spend your days in Kokopa’s Atlas however you want. Explore the wilds of the new planet and discover its secrets. Run quests for the various NPCs you may encounter. Craft yourself some new tools to use in your garden or adventures. Or even spend the day planning, plotting your homestead, and tending your garden. How you complete each game day is entirely up to you.

You’ll also have a biodroid assistant named Pollimero. The droid’s most useful and most powerful tool is the Scan-o-tron. When Kokopa activates it, a shortwave radar emits and picks up on terrain, resources, and even enemies. Little Pollimero will be one of Kokopa’s greatest assets when exploring this uncharted new world!

    Coming Soon!

Unfortunately, adorable Kokopa’s Atlas has no release date yet. It’s merely listed as “coming soon”, though you can add it to your Steam wishlist! In the meantime, check out one of the WIP videos from creator Rafael Martín a.k.a. HyperMegaPixel.

And of course, for more farming fun, check out Voltaire: The Vegan Vampire, Ooblets, or Monster Harvest.

    Build Your Camp Through Teamwork

For players who enjoyed the multiplayer chaos in such games as Overcooked and Moving Out, here’s your next fun couch co-op! Camped Out plays up to 4 players and your goal is to set up camp before dark falls. Work together as a team with family or friends to set up each camp and unlock more campsites. Players will rush to set up tents, build a campfire, and gather enough food in time to get into bed before night sets in.

Each character in Camped Out has a camper’s backpack that holds a tent, lantern, and some shared tools. Each player also has a cook pot to cook their nightly meals in. You are in control of where to place things, so choose wisely or they may hinder you! Chop wood, gather stones, and go fishing in order to get the campsite ready. Just don’t leave materials lying around or they may disappear.

    Coming September 22

While a demo is available now on Steam, the game will be available fully on September 22nd. Camped Out! Will be on Steam for PC and Switch consoles.

Tools Up is another fun couch co-op.

    Mystical Crops and Mythical Creatures

Another farming game showcased by Freedom Games via IGN Summer of Gaming 2022, was Voltaire: The Vegan Vampire (developed by Digitality Games). Even though there’s a spooky element with the supernatural, the hand-drawn world is adorable and reminiscent of Don’t Starve.

You play as Voltaire, the last-born son of Dracula trying to mend your bloodsucking ways by going vegan. You’ll farm some plots of land and plant some whimsical crops, but there will be mischievous creatures that will try to stop you! As a vampire, you can change forms, use magic abilities and skills to defend your land.

Coming to Early Access in 2023 on PC

You can Wishlist the game on Steam here. It will be coming to The Epic Games Store, however it appears to not have a listing at this time of writing.

    Post Image

Earlier this year, My Potato Games posted an article about the exciting upcoming action-adventure RPG that is Baldo. The developers of Baldo are an Italian indie games studio (NAPS Team) consisting of just two people. Busy working on the game, the small studio weren’t able to post frequent updates. Some people were frustrated by this, and some forgot all about the game. However, NAPS Team hadn’t forgotten about us. It was a pleasant surprise to see gameplay footage of Baldo in yesterday’s (17/03/20) Nintendo Switch Indie World Showcase, where Baldo was easily the highlight. But that’s not the most exciting part. We now have a release window of August 2020, when the game will be released digitally as a Nintendo Switch Timed Exclusive (essentially meaning that it will be a limited edition game).

    About:

Baldo is a Zelda-inspired action-adventure RPG game with a cel-shaded art style. Many people have compared the game’s art style and vibes to that of Studio Ghibli and Ni No Kuni.

    Announcement Trailer:

There isn’t a huge amount of information about Baldo available. However, the following Nintendo announcement trailer, shows that in-game action is top-down, but that the game’s pseudo-realistic backgrounds are 3D.

The description beneath the game’s announcement trailer says the following:

‘The prophecy came true, the pure child is born. The no heart creature sealed in the underworld by the wise owls is about to rise again. The game is set in the world of Rodia, a journey into a magical land full of mysteries to discover. Baldo is an action adventure rpg, full of puzzles and intricate dungeons to solve. Traveling around the world, Baldo will interact with many weird and funny characters scattered everywhere, to complete the main story quest and many other side quests. You’ll travel into an open world map discovering new towns and people, fighting enemies, locating hidden temples and collecting objects to get new weapons or items to use.’

    Nindies Showcase Trailer:

In yesterday’s Baldo trailer, we got a short summary from the game’s actual art director of what Baldo is all about. With NAPS Team “Being fans of all great action-adventure RPG’s and of iconic Japanese anime”, they had always had a “dream to create something that unified those two things”. The Indie studio “wanted a game that would be a journey to a magical world full of fantastic characters, complex dungeons to face and puzzles to solve”.

The cost of the game has not yet been announced, but will likely be specified on the game’s Nintendo page in due course.

Currently in development by Naps Team, Baldo is an upcoming action-adventure coming to Switch, amongst other platforms. The Zelda-inspired game has a cel-shaded art style, which is comparable to that of Studio Ghibli and Ni No Kuni.

There isn’t a lot of information available about Baldo. However, the following Nintendo announcement trailer, shows that in-game action is top-down, but that the game’s pseudo-realistic backgrounds are 3D.

You’ll travel into an open world map discovering new towns and people, fighting enemies, locating hidden temples and collecting objects to get new weapons or items to use.

From the trailer, it looks like players encounter a variety of characters and monsters. Additionally, it appears that dungeon-crawling, puzzle-solving and exploration all feature in the game.

Baldo will release on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows.

A release date for the game is still TBA.

Baldo has its own Facebook and Twitter pages where you can follow the game’s progress. Despite a lack of posts since earlier in 2019, Baldo recently replied to a post on WholesomeGames Twitter on 12th January.

    Yay! They’re alive! 🙂
