Fling to the Finish is developed by SplitSide Games, a small team of students based in Philadelphia. The game will be released early in 2020 on PC and the Nintendo Switch. Types of courses in this unique racing game include: floating parks, giant casinos, and even worm filled asteroid fields! There are also a dozen of adorable characters to choose from and pair together that we here at myPotatoGames have a hard time deciding our favorites! You’ll be tethered by a stretchy elastic rope that you can use to swing around perilous obstacles, and fling your partner up ledges before they fall to their doom.

Choose your favorite pair of characters!

Fling to the Finish is the first game built from the ground up to combine the racing and platforming genres.  It was inspired by games such as Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, Mario Sunshine, and Super Monkey Ball. It was also inspired by TV shows such as Wipeout and Survivor.

What is Fling to the Finish?

Fling to the Finish is a competitive physics racing game where you’re tethered to your best friend or worst enemy. Share a controller with your partner and coordinate your movements to master crazy obstacle courses. Take the lead against other teams by attacking them with barrages of plungers, humongous anvils, and deadly lasers! Take part in an innovative mix of genres as you platform through the most outrageous racing game to come to the market in years.

Play local couch co-op with a friend by sharing a controller!

Fling is playable in single player, local co-op, or local/online competitive multiplayer with 1-16 players. Not only can teams that fall behind in races use items to gain the advantage, but obstacles dynamically adjust themselves to become easier to navigate for those not in the lead. For example, some platforms will actually become larger and easier to land on after the first place team has passed them. This ensures that even if players fall behind they’ll be able to win.

    Race against another team!

Today on May 29th, 2019, you can make a pledge to their Kickstarter campaign here and receive the game as well as awesome new character skins. You can also try their Alpha demo here and start practicing your communication skills! Looking for more racing games to play? we’ve got you covered with Neon Tail.

Snacko is a farming simulation game developed by an indie studio called bluecurse where you play as a cat! If you haven’t heard of this amazing game yet you can get caught up with us here. You’ll be able to farm, fish, cook, decorate, and recruit different animals to your island sometime in 2021 on PC and the Nintendo Switch. See below for bluecurse’s latest devblog for the newest developments in Snacko.

    Crafting

Crafting can be a lot of fun as you have to find recipes by talking to new characters and discovering new locations. That means there’s a lot of exploring to do! You can also find the required materials you need to build things around your farm and other areas outside. You can see in the image below that some items you can craft will be for cosmetic purposes so you can have fun decorating.

Other items will be very useful in helping you with your farming such as sprinklers for your crops, and a lamp to help you see at nighttime. Moreover, there seems to be tools that you need to craft to perform certain activities (i.e. fishing rod for fishing).

    Cooking

Cooking just became a lot more pleasant as not only do you follow recipes from a book but you can also experiment and your recipe book will record what you’ve learned! Furthermore, there are recipes that will require very specific food items to complete, such as tomatoes for tomato soup, and there will be recipes that are a little more general.

For example, to make a fruit tart you can choose any kind of fruit you want and any attribute that adds a “sweet” flavor. All consumables will have categories like vegetables or meats, as well as whether it tastes sweet, sour, etc. This way you can get a little more creative with your dishes as long as they meet the conditions listed.

    Camping Out

There will be four distinct islands asides from the main island which houses your farm and the town. Each new island you discover has its own puzzles, resources, monsters, and creatures. Since there is so much exploring to do, the developers have thought of a unique way that you can stay out for several days. Instead of having to return all the way back home, you only need to bring a few of this key item: cardboard boxes!

Cardboard boxes are the most comfortable beds to a cat as long as they stay dry. This means you will have to make sure you find an area that is covered or go inside caves. It’s easy to obtain them; get them for free from shops from time to time or check out the junkyard. Each box can be used for up to three times so it is important to stock up if you want to be out for a while.

    Seasons

There will be different weather or environmental effects on the other islands. Therefore, the developers are working on adding summer, fall, and winter to the game, which already included spring. As time passes you will get to see the environment change and have many lovely things to look at; spring has cherry blossoms and now fall will have colored leaves. In addition, notice in the image below how your character Momo has left behind some adorable little kitty footprints in the snow!

    Merchandise

The creators have started selling more merchandise from their online store here, and are providing their supporters with discount codes. New this month is the adorable keychains you can see below. You can also continue to support this game on Patreon and receive some interesting perks!

Want to know what else is new for the month of April on other games we’ve covered? Check out Calico (another game with cats), Alchemy Story (an adorable farming simulation game), and Ooblets (grow your own companions and “battle” by dancing).

Automachef is an indie puzzle game in which you will have to build automatic kitchens for a robotic fast food tycoon who believes he’s a human. Automachef will be releasing for PC and Nintendo Switch in Q3 2019. This game is developed by Hermes Interactive and published by Team17 (My Time at Portia and Overcooked). Prepare yourself to become a masterful kitchen manager and wishlist it on Steam!

Robert Person is the name of the robot…we mean human…that will guide you and offer you help throughout the levels. You can choose from dozens of different machines to build your automatic kitchen in exactly the way you want. For example, conveyor belts, robotic arms, splitters, computers, gates and much more! Automachef features computers you can program in assembly code, or using a simple visual editor, to make other machines, such as robotic arms or ingredients dispensers.

Our very trusty “human” friend Robert Person

The game features 30 campaign levels, 10 bonus levels, three exciting game modes, dozens of different recipes to prepare (i.e. cheeseburgers, salads, hot dogs), special events, disasters, and more! The three modes in Automachef are: the Campaign Mode, building a business in Contracts Mode and practicing your builds or playing freely in Test Site Mode. Furthermore, if you have created the perfect production line, you can save your plans as blueprints to use in future kitchens!

Filling out orders with your production line

    Key Features

    • Plan. Position. Program: Design and build automated restaurants, then program them to run like well-oiled machines! Do you have a can-do attitude and the know-how to conquer the world of automated restaurants?
    • Challenging Puzzles: Fine tune your mind as you tackle intricate spatial, resource management and scenario puzzles! Not enough hot dogs? You’ll sort it! Kitchens on fire? No problem for a smart human like you!
    • Multiple Brain-Tickling Modes: Take on the campaign levels, traverse your way through the business world in contracts mode, or just go nuts and bolts in the sandbox test mode and play until you get your fill.
    • Endless Charm and Quirky Humor: All delivered in an abundance by our helplessly misguided (robot) human protagonist – Robert Person. Who is definitely a human. Don’t ask questions.
    • Mod Support (Steam): Think you could bring some more pizzazz to the table? GREAT! Step on up to the plate and create your own ingredients, recipes and scenario levels via Steam Workshop!

Bit of a tongue-twister eh? Are you forever skint like myself? Or are you a thrifty person who feels guilty forking out on video games? Never fear, for the Steam summer sale is here! Lasting until the 5th July, you can now nab those games you’ve been wistfully browsing through and adding to your Steam wishlist. Here are 6 discounted great games that you should totally grab whilst they’re on offer.

    1) Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom

Being a Level-5 BANDAI NAMCO game, this sequel is naturally of excellent quality, which unfortunately is reflected in its price. It’s original price of £49.99 was too steep for me to even consider. However, it’s current sale price of £29.99 (40% discount) makes it very tempting.

    2) The Witness

Currently discounted by 70% (£29.99 to £8.99), this game is hands-down a bargain. However, there’s also a bundle available on sale, which includes The Witness + Braid for just £9.82. Their combined cost would be £40.98 when purchased individually at their normal price. ????

    3) South Park: The Stick of Truth

South Park: The Stick of Truth is very highly regarded on Steam. It’s one of those games you’re always tempted by, but can’t justify forking out for. Well now you can! It is currently reduced by 75% from £26.99 to £6.74.

A bundle containing South Park: The Stick of Truth + South Park: The fractured but whole is also on sale. The bundle is massively discounted by 73% from £76.98 to £20.91! ????

    4) Broken Age

This beautiful game (made by indie developers Double Fine) is still adored 4 years after its release. If you haven’t already had the opportunity to play it, you can currently nab it for just £2.99, which is an 80% reduction from it’s usual price of £14.99!

(Pssst! You can also get the Double Fine bundle, which contains 18 items, for 90% off. That’s £145.83 down to £15.01!) ????

    5) Undertale

One of the most loved games of 2015, you probably already own this charming and interactive pixel-graphic game. If by the off chance you don’t, you can currently get it at half-price for only £3.49.

    6) Firewatch

Firewatch is repeatedly praised for its narrative and interactivity. If you want to play a unique, story-rich game that bridges the gap between games and digital writing, you’re in luck. Firewatch is currently discounted by 75% from £14.99 to £3.74

If none of these games tickle your fancy, there are plenty more bargains to choose from in the Steam Summer Sale.

Just remember to get them before the 5th July!

    Happy gaming!
