Nintendo’s Cyber deals only last until tomorrow, and they have some pretty cute games on sale.

Cute games are my life, and I certainly don’t mind saving money when I can. I am always looking for ways to expand my Switch library at a moments notice, especially when the game is cute and won’t cost me an arm and a leg. Nintendo’s cyber deals only last one more day, and some of my favorite games are currently available at a discount. This may be our last chance to get great deals on games before the holiday season passes!

The Legend Of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Zelda breath wild for nintendo switch

Explore the land of Hyrule in the latest epic adventure game in the Zelda series, Breath of the Wild. Breath of the Wild is widely known as one of the best games currently available for the Nintendo Switch, and can be yours right now for just $41.99. Check out the official Nintendo website for access to the deal.

    Super Mario Party

    Super Mario Party

Super Mario Party was released for Switch earlier this year, and was also very well received. I much enjoyed playing it myself, and am very pleased with how far the Mario Party games have come. Without straying too far from the original theme, the upgrades made to the series in this title certainly made it stand out above the rest. Super Mario Party is also currently available for only $41.99 through the Nintendo Store.

    Cuphead

Cuphead has been reputed as an adventure certainly worth your time and money, especially with a price tag of currently only $14.99. Cuphead is a hand-drawn run n’ gun game with heavy focus on boss battles. The game is designed in the old-school 1930’s rubber hose animation style, and even includes some classic jazz to keep the tempo matching the art. To access the deal on Cuphead, simply visit the Nintendo store now.

    Snipperclips

    Snipperclips Plus

One of my favorite adorable and silly puzzle games is also on sale through the Nintendo eShop, Snipperclips. Team up friends and cut each other to pieces to solve all the puzzles you can. You can also play single player and control both characters to achieve the same goal. Snipperclips is a great relaxing puzzle game to play with friends when you just want to chill and have a good time.

    Mario Tennis Aces

    Mario Tennis Aces

Currently in my games library, Mario Tennis Aces is just an all around good time. Control different characters from the Mario universe, with different play styles, and compete to be the best tennis player amongst your friends. Or go single player and dominate the simple yet fun campaign mode. There are plenty of characters to choose from, and lots of fun little addition that help Aces stand out above other tennis games. Again, you can find this game on sale for $41.99 through the Nintendo eShop.

Super Money Ball – Banana Blitz HD

Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz was originally released for the Nintendo Wii in 2006. It introduced a new villain, Captain Crabuchin, and had a total of 8 boss battles. Also, for the first time ever in the series, there are online leaderboards. If you’d like to give this Super adorable game a try, you can do so for only $29.99 though Nintendo’s eShop.

    Unravel Two

    Unravel Two Switch

A big sale on this title, as Unravel Two is currently on $4.99! If you have been waiting to try this charming yarn-based co-op puzzle game, now is certainly the time. “In Unravel Two, create a Yarny of your very own. Then build relationships with other Yarnys in local co-op or as a single player, fostering friendship and support as you journey together.” See my review here.

There are many games on sale through Nintendo’s eShop, and the deals only last until tomorrow, December 4th. Head over there now for a full list of games with discounted prices.

We haven’t even finished with the special event of increased chances to find Gigantamax Butterfree, Drednaw and Covirknight in Max Raid Battles until early January 2020 in Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield. Now there’s another one! Starting tomorrow on December 4th, 2019, check out the Wild Area and the dens for a Gigantamax Snorlax, complete with a new look (giant berry tree on its tummy) and G-Max move called Replenish. This special move doesn’t merely deal damage to targets, it can also restore any Berries that Gigantamax Snorlax’s allies have eaten during the battle!

TYPE: Normal, ABILITY: Immunity / Thick Fat, HEIGHT: 114’10″+, WEIGHT: ????.? lbs.

    About Gigantamax Snorlax

The Berry seeds and small rocks that were tangled in its belly fur have undergone explosive growth thanks to the power of Gigantamaxing. With a tree sprouting upon its belly, this gigantic form of Snorlax has the majesty of a great mountain.

Whether because of the great weight of its stomach or its unchanged natural disposition, this Gigantamax Pokémon almost never moves. When the time comes to do battle, it lifts its upper body by just a tiny amount and attacks by flailing with its arms and legs. At first glance, you might think it’s not very serious about battling—but these actions pack a tremendous punch. In fact, Gigantamax Snorlax is said to be one of the strongest Dynamax Pokémon discovered.

To learn more about Max Raid Battles and online multiplayer, check out my article here, and to find a list of all Gigantamax Pokemon to date, go here. It’s exciting to wait and see what other new Galar Region Pokemon The Pokemon Company may release!

    Post Image

The Animal Crossing series is of full of Easter eggs, jokes, quirks, bizarre events, and fun references. And these features aren’t just limited to the more recent games; Nintendo have been humouring players of the franchise right since Its conception. I am an avid Animal Crossing fan, and even I am still learning new things about the games. And so, I thought I’d share my Potato-y wisdom with you all, and share these 10 Fun Facts about Animal Crossing that you might not have known.

The shopkeep just wants some sleep

In Animal Forest e+, players can witness Tom Nook in his PJ’s, and shop in his store after closing hours. This can be accomplished by using a shovel to bang on the door of his shop three times. Inevitably, he is sleepy and will therefore move more slowly. Additionally, he will pay less for items you sell him, charge more for the items he has on display, and the catalogue will be unavailable.

    “Hello, my name is secretary.”

    Animal Crossing Switch

In the early stages of the development of Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Isabelle was simply known as ‘Secretary’ or ‘Hisho’. Fortunately, she did eventually obtain the name of ‘Shizue’ (based on her shih tzu breed) before the game’s release in Japan.

The mew mew that hasn’t caught a train since ’02

Upon starting a new game in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, players will embark on a train journey, where they will be joined by Rover. He mentions that he hasn’t travelled by train since 2002 (the year that the first Animal Crossing game was released). Whatever the reason for his avoidance of public transport (*glares at Nintendo devs*), it’s good to see the kitty travelling again.

Chip the beaver, a fraud as well as a fish thiever

Chip is a beaver who hosts the fishing tourneys in the games. He is notorious for his gluttonous consumption of every single fish that you catch and give to him. However, as beavers mostly eat plants, his diet is more typical of that of an otter.

Turning leaves into bells and the tanuki that sells

Animal Crossing Pocket Camp Free Leaf tickets

There is more to the Animal Crossing franchise’s leaf logo than meets the eye. Japanese folklore believes that tanukis can turn leaves into money. Hence why the series has a tanuki as a shopkeeper, leaves as inventory icons for furniture, and the ability to sometimes obtain bells when shaking trees in the games.

    ‘Spot’ the difference

Animal Crossing new horizons Travel Agency

According to Tom Nook, a way of telling his twin nephews Timmy and Tommy apart is the presence of a mole on one of their hands (and it’s not Resetti, just to clarify). Additionally, Timmy is more high-pitched than Tommy, and is the eldest of the twins.

When your WiFi is slow, and the journey is long, you can always sit back and enjoy Totaka’s Song

    Animal Crossing Quiz

Whilst visiting the island in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Kapp’n will start whistling the iconic Totaka’s Song if your WiFi is really slow.

    Scrapped Metal

During the development of New Leaf, one of the suggested features of the game was for players to be able to pan for gold. Unfortunately, this idea didn’t ‘pan’ out.

An Alien on TV at 3:33

On Sundays and Mondays at 3.33am in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, players can watch an Alien message on their television sets. The bizarre message will replace the static on your television set until 3:34am, when your television will return to its original static.

The mole that Nintendo sacked because too many people felt attacked

Nintendo 3ds, Video Games, Nintendo, Mobile Games, Casual Video Game News

First appearing on the Gamecube in 2001, Resetti, is infamous for his angry rants at players who quit their games without saving. Before the release of New Leaf, he was simply a bit of a nuisance for some players. For others however, he was terrifying, and has allegedly made people cry. Hence why he was essentially ‘sacked’ in new Leaf, but with players given the option to re-employ him as part of a PWP. Due to the autosave feature in upcoming Switch game Animal Crossing: New Horizons, it has been hinted that Mr. Resetti may be taking on a new role.

Pile Up is a cooperative 3D platformer for 1 to 4 players where you play as adorable customizable boxes (Boxlings) and navigate colorful cardboard worlds! Now the developers, Seed by Seed, have made a wonderful announcement that they will be pairing up with publishers HandyGames (El Hijo) and be able to make Pile Up the best it can be!

The Wild Area and online options become accessible early on in Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield. If you don’t like spoiling new 8th generation Pokemon or like to catch as many Pokemon on your own before trading, I recommend getting all of your badges in the main game to fully enjoy everything the online multiplayer feature has to offer. You must have all 7 Gym Badges (last one is the Dragon Badge) in order to find Gigantamax Pokemon in the Wild Area. I go into more details and which select few Pokemon have Gigantamax forms here. See below for more information about playing with other players and ongoing official competitions by Nintendo for rewards and bragging rights!

    Link Battles and Link Codes

Link Battles are between you and other players online. If you only want to play with your friends specifically, you can set up a Link Code. A Link Code is a 4-digit password that your friends will have to input in order to join. This is set up this way because everything you do is broadcast live via Stamps (more on that later). Link Battles allow you to choose Single Battle for one-on-one battling and Double Battle where two players can send out 2 Pokemon at one time. Finally, there’s Multi Battle which is similar to a Double Battle but four players are involved and get to control one Pokemon each.

    Link Trades and Surprise Trades

Link Trades are the way to go if you have a certain Pokemon in mind that you want to trade with a friend. You can also connect with someone randomly online and both come to an agreement for a trade. If there’s a Pokemon you know you don’t need anymore, Surprise Trades can be really fun! Select the Pokemon that you want traded and go about your business in-game until your Y-Comm alerts you that they found you someone and the trade is complete. As adorable as Skwovet is (the pudgy-cheeked squirrel), you’ll probably come across it often in Surprise Trades as it is the new Ratata. Other times you’ll be pleasantly surprised with what players send out there!

    The Victory Station

Go to your menu and click on VS (Victory Station) which displays stats such as whether Shield players or Sword players are winning in categories like “Hatched the most eggs” and “Cooked the most while camping” by comparing numbers with 100 players online. From there, you can select either Battle Stadium for various online competition options or Live Competition to host or participate in battles via LAN.

    Battle Stadium

    • Casual Battles: Anything goes in single and double battles and it’s all just for good fun or to just test your skills as a Trainer.
    • Ranked Battles: Compete for the highest rank with other players around the world. You’ll be matched up with others in your tier so that the battles are fair. At the end of each season you’ll get in-game rewards based on your position in the Leaderboards.
    • Online Competitions: These are limited live and official ongoing competitions. Check out the announcement here for details on the very first competition, Galar Beginnings. You’ll want to sign up now for the period between December 6th-8th, 2019. All players will receive a Participation Gift after completing at least one battle.
    • Rental Teams: This new feature allows you to share your Battle Team for the public to use, or “borrow” someone else’s to play around with in battles.

    Ranked Battles

Nintendo just announced that Ranked Battle Season 1 is now under way until the end of December 2019. During this time, the rules listed will remain the same with restrictions to Pokemon that you can use. Another season will be starting on January 1st, 2020. For this time around, you’ll be entering in Double Battles, using only 4 Pokemon from your team, and all of your Pokemon will be at Lv. 50. At the end of the season, if you’ve competed in at least one match, you can get the following rewards from the Mystery Gift menu.

    • Master Ball Tier: 3 Gold Bottle Caps and 600 Battle Points.
    • Ultra Ball Tier: 1 Gold Bottle Cap and 300 Battle Points.
    • Great Ball Tier: 3 Bottle Caps, 1 Ability Capsule, 1 Jolly Mint, 1 Timid Mint, and 100 Battles Points.
    • Poke Ball Tier & Beginner Tier: 1 Ability Capsule, 1 Jolly Mint, 1 Timid Mint, and 50 Battle Points.

Battle Points, or BP, can be spent by talking to an NPC in the Pokemon Center in Hammerlocke in exchange for special items.

    Y-Comm and Searching Stamps

Going to your Y-Comm and changing your Local Communication to Internet will allow you to see what everyone online is currently up to by displaying Stamps at all times on the bottom left of your screen. This includes Link Trades, Surprise Trades, Link Battles, and Max Raid Battles. In your Y-Comm menu, it is possible to filter your Stamps if you are looking for specific battles to join or only want to see the Stamps of your friends. I usually set mine to Max Raid Battles and pay attention to the specific red ones as they are the “incredibly/massively strong Pokemon” ones. If someone else found a rare Gigantamax Pokemon, you can join in with a total of 4 players. You’ll want to act fast as this can fill up quickly.

If you find your own Gigantamax Pokemon, I recommend Inviting Others as it’s a very tough battle to fight alone or the three other NPCs given at random can be pretty terrible. You’ll come across a few Magikarp that will often faint and then come back after a few turns at full health, only to faint again.

In every Max Raid Battle, any Pokemon can faint up to 4 times before you lose and get kicked out of the den. You also lose if you go over 10 total turns. Therefore, either set up a Link Code for your friends, or wait the full 3 minutes to give players the chance to join. It is possible to have a mixture of players and NPCs if you can’t fill out all four slots.

Playing with Others Keeps Things Interesting for a Long Time to Come

Even if you have finished the main game of Pokemon Sword and Shield, there are still competitions to enter for rewards and your Pokemon to show-off. If you want to fill out your Pokedex, you’ll need to spend some time in the Wild Area, and to trade for version exclusive Pokemon. Hosting or joining others in Max Raid Battles and Dynamaxing Pokemon is also another fun way to share in the experience and to get the most out of your game.

Of course to do all that you’ll need a Nintendo Switch Online account. You can find the pricing plans here, however, I recommend getting an Amazon Prime account now as you get Twitch Prime and 12 months of Nintendo Switch Online at no extra cost. Find out more about that amazing limited time offer here.

Described as a ‘humorous light platformer’, fans of felines will be delighted to know that a platform game with RPG and puzzle elements featuring cats is coming to Nintendo Switch this week. Developed by DeqafStudio and published by No Gravity Games, the game will be playable in 13 different languages including, English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Traditional Chinese, Korean, Turkish, Polish, Romanian, Ukrainian, and Hungarian.

Not dissimilar to Mario and Zelda games, the aim of Strike Force Kitty is to train a team of four kitties to save a princess. The concept of the game might sound all too familiar, (you have to fight bosses along your journey). However, the game is unique and appealing due to its cute and humourous nature.

    Features of the game include:

    • 350 unlockable costumes for your kitties
    • Multiple big bosses to battle
    • Cute graphics with RPG and puzzle features
    • Over 30 different artifacts
    • Bespoke art, music and animation to provide hours of entertainment
    • Funny and easy to play
    • Cats. ?

The game’s usual price is very affordable at just USD$4.99. However, if ‘pre-purrchased’, it can be obtained for the bargain price of USD$3.99 here.
