ShibaPixels on Twitter is making a super cute game about “running an inn for spirits and monsters”.

As you well know by now, I am always on the lookout for adorable new games to share with my friends. Sometimes I get so excited about a game, I can’t even wait until it has a name before I start talking about it. Well, this new upcoming indie game is still early in the works, but already looks super cute and full of features!

From the information on hand, you can very clearly see that is one life sim game that will not be lacking in substance. The developer has already shared aspects of NPC interactions, mining, basic inn running duties, and even a bit of farming (despite having joined Twitter just this year). All this done with a wonderful aesthetic that really brings all the charisma of a charming life sim game to, well, life.

All this said, the developer has only recently been sharing information about their game, so there isn’t much quite yet. But I will surely be keeping an eye on this one, and bringing updates as they roll out. If you’d like to make sure the you don’t miss out either, be sure to follow this delightful indie dev on Twitter!

For more information on Yokai Inn, you can check out the new website for the game.

Natsume has teased a new feature coming to the Harvest Moon series.

Harvest Moon One World is the first game in the series that lets you travel the entire world and discover new cultures and crops. One World is the next installment in the much beloved Harvest Moon series. According to the recent announcement, the game will feature an all new engine which will allow for beautified visuals and all new features as well as overall improved game mechanics.

    What is the Expando-Farm

Now, Natsume has revealed a new feature coming to the series called Expando-Farm. From the information released, it appears as thought the Expando-Farm will function as a sort of portable farming device. It will allow you to start a new farm anywhere you find the need. Seeing as how this new installment is an open world game, this will make it much easier to keep track of your horticultural activities throughout the game.

    harvest moon one world

Unfortunately, not much other information was given regarding the Expando-Farm. I will be sure to keep an eye as the updates flow in. I have no doubt that there will be more teasers, seeing as how the game releases on PS4 and Nintendo Switch in less than a month, on March 2nd.

Seasonspree is an adorable game about celebrating the seasons and helping your friends.

As we all know very well by now, it doesn’t get much cuter than when a game has anthropomorphic animals that want nothing more than to be helped, and to help make you happy. That is the whole story behind Seasonspree. Add to that a beautiful setting and a penchant for seasonal enthrallment, and you have the recipe for one endlessly charming indie game.

    Seasonspree

    What is Seasonspree?

Seasonspree is a family-friendly 2D side scroller narrative with some puzzles sprinkled along the way, and a simple, graspable dialogue with even simpler dialogue options for young players and those whom English is not their first language.

In the game, you play as Sunny, an adorable little tanuki that is tasked with traveling the world, discovering the seasons, and helping friends along the way. At the end of each season, all the animals get together to celebrate its completion and bring in the new season. At the end of the year, if you have helped everyone you can, you will encounter a special surprise.

    Seasonspree

    Made for all gamers!

The key to the game is figuring out how the time travel functions, and how it will pertain to the completion of your tasks. If Sunny walks to the right, time moves forward, and if Sunny walks left, time moves backward. You will use this ability to travel though the seasons in a timely manner. This will allow you to find friends easier, and also to find whatever it is that they need help with.

The game was also developed with a focus on ease of access for a wide range of gamers. The game has a slow and steady pace, with no chance to make a mistake. There are no undoable actions, and there is no violence. It is a platform game, but with only one platform. The game is so chill that you don’t even need to pause to take a break. Sunny will wait patiently for you to do whatever is keeping you from helping her help others. What a wonderful being she is.

Helping Sunny in a big way!

If this game sounds like something you’d love to really get on board with, the small development team behind the game is nearing the end of their Kickstarter campaign. So if you’d truly like to help Sunny in the biggest way, consider heading over to the campaign now to help the game reach its goal, and become everything it was meant to be (and earn some cool treats in the process).

Ova Magica is an absolutely adorable upcoming farming sim with loads of charm!

I am always on the lookout for upcoming adorable Indies that have major potential, and a super cute aesthetic to boot. Well, Ova Magica certainly appears to have it all. This captivating life sim has farming, crafting, resourcing and even a bit of creature collection with turn based battles! It’s like all of my favorite game features have been rolled into one delightfully darling package!

    Ova Magica

What you should know about Ova Magica.

One important thing to keep in mind is that, while Ova Magica may look absolutely perfect, the game is still heavily in development. However, the developer, who goes by the name of Claudia, has reached the point where she is comfortable enough to release a wonderful reveal trailer to the world, which can be viewed below.

Also, given all the amazing features listed above, it comes as no surprise that the developer has mentioned taking inspiration some of my favorite games of all time; Harvest Moon, Pokemon, Azure Dreams, Stardew Valley and Grandia. We can expect to see many other features from our favorite classic titles, like bug catching, fishing, seasons and weather effects, shooting stars on beautiful nights, and even dating and relationships.

    Ova Magica
A little date by the beach.

    A bit of plot.

From what I could gather, the game takes place in an adorable little town modeled after the developers hometown in Germany. At the start of the game, you will pick your starter “blob” that will aid you in your journey. You will also be placed on an abandoned farm and will be tasked with building it up with resources and the tools that you learn to make along the way.

Much like Pokemon, as you advance through the game, the creatures at your command will grow and become stronger, learning new skills for battle. You will also be able to breed the creatures to help add to your little precious army, with over a thousand possible outcomes.

    Ova Magica
Do some bee keeping with your companions.

You will be able to customize your farm using many helpful tools meant to expand and expedite the horticulture process. You will even be able to decorate the interior of your home, much like Stardew, but with a much healthier focus on cutesy graphics.

    Ova Magica Reveal Trailer

    More Info

All this to say, Ova Magica is one epic indie that I will surely be keeping an eye on from here out. If you’d also like to stay tuned to see more, be sure to follow the developer on Twitter.

Also, there is mention of the game coming to Kickstarter in the not too distant future (early 2021). That is one event you won’t want to miss if you’d like to be a part of the creation of Ova Magica.

    Ova Magica
A bit of cute concept art.

If you would like a closer look at the development process as it unfolds, you can also find the game on itch.io.

Be a part of the creation of the super cute farming and life sim game Snacko!

For those that have been in the dark on this one, Snacko is a farming and life sim game where you get to play as a cat. It is an adorable indie title that I have been keeping an eye on for some time now. As far as I know, this is the only upcoming farming sim where you get to play as a cat, so attention is certainly due.

Well, now is your chance to help this amazing indie title become everything that it is meant to be. The developers have just launched their kickstarter page so that fans can join in on the fun of assisting with the creation of the game. Simply help out with a little funding, and you get the peace of mind knowing that you did something to make this great game even greater.

    Snacko kickstarter

What else is in it for you?

Not only that, but (as is customary with Kickstarter) you can also get some pretty sweet goodies by chipping in. The more you donate to the cause, the more you will get in return (as if the knowledge of helping creation wasn’t enough). Starting at the $20 donation mark, helpers will even get a PC key for the game upon release.

Along with the launch of the campaign, the developers also released a new trailer, which you can view below. I know that after seeing my first Snacko trailer, I was all in, and I’m sure you will be too.

    Excerpt from Kickstarter page!

“All ashore on Snacko, a farming adventure sim starring cats, by husband and wife development team Bluecurse Studios, with support from our publisher. You can wishlist Snacko on Steam right now! It’s a game about finding your home, taking risks, and appreciating the big, wide world. Snacko is inspired by classics like Rune Factory and Harvest Moon, while also drawing from The Legend of Zelda series and even early 2000s MMORPGs.”

The farming and life sim game Village Monsters receives huge gardening update!

As you know, I have been keeping an eye on Village Monsters for some time now. It is a relaxing and whimsical adventure game developed by sole creator, Josh Bossie. Take on the role of the last man living in a world inhabited by monsters. With everything that you’d expect from a good life-sim game, with a monstrous twist, Village Monsters is one farming adventure that you won’t want to miss out on.

    Village Monsters

    Now with more gardening.

The most recent update basically revamps the entire gardening aspect. New plants have arrived, and a couple others have either bee re-worked, or just removed due to impracticality. Now, the update is far too large for me to give all the details here, but I will cover the primary aspects. The full details of the gardening update can be found on the Village Monsters Steam page.

“You may now Cultivate plants in your garden. This allows you to perform actions such as watering the plant, adding items to the soil, etc. in order to encourage its growth.”
“Plants can now breed to create new plants automatically.”
“Basic crossbreeding has been added: the look and base plant attributes are based on the mother plant, while growth rates are based on the father plant.”

These few changes barely scratch the surface of what is new in Village Monsters. Josh is always super busy, plugging away to do everything in his power to make Village Monsters a wonderful gaming experience for all.

    More info!

For more information on this whacky title, as well as the chance to try it for yourself, check out the game on Steam. This indie title is still in early access, and costs just $14.99.To stay up to date on what is going on with Village Monsters and the developer Josh Bossie, be sure to follow the game on Twitter.

It is an adorable indie title that I have been keeping an eye on for some time now. Farmer Supreme is a super cute farming and life sim game currently in the works by Sombrero Cat LLC.

    Farmer Supreme

As you must know very well by now, I am always on the lookout for new cute indie games that all my friends will love. Well, I certainly found an amazing gem in Farmer Supreme, a farming and life sim game currently in production by Sombrero Cat LLC.

Just from what has been revealed so far, I can already tell that this will be one super cute indie worth keeping an eye on! From animate and angry corn, to jolly little witches with jerboa (charming, hopping desert mouse-like rodent) assistants, Farmer Supreme is set to be a whimsical farming adventure full of love and laughs.

    Farmer Supreme

    What is Farmer Supreme

In a world all but lost to the darkness and filth, there lives one orphan boy with a dream. A dream of returning life and love to the world by way of becoming the Farmer Supreme. The developer gave a short bio in one of the Twitter videos on their feed, and it reads just like this…

“In a world filled with perils and evil monsters lure in the shadows,
thieves await at the end of the road.
Danger on every turn of a corner.
    Heroes rise, kingdoms fall.
Legends are forged in Fire and Ice
    Kids grow to be warriors
to slay creatures and rescue princesses.
    Glory and fame aspiration.
    But one humble orphan kid,
who has lost everyone and everything,
tired of living in hunger and despair,
will start a quest that no one thinks about,
Choosing the way no one cares about,
    to help his hungry townsfolk,
to learn the long lost art,
    from the last known master,
and to become the next infamous,
    FARMER SUPREME!

    Farmer Supreme

What to expect from Farmer Supreme.

First and foremost, there will be farming. Aside from tending to your horticultural duties, there will also be a combat aspect to the game, an exhilierating touch that will bring some excitement to the daily grind.

The developer went so far as to describe the game as “… a mix between farming sims AND adventure. Cute but with a lot of combat and strategy elements just like any other Zelda-like game/RPG.

There will also be many of the wonderful features of farming sim games that we have grown to love over the years, like day/night cycles, as well as customizable characters to help give that personal feel.

    Farmer Supreme Trailer

A title to keep an eye on!

With a rich and heartfelt story, Farmer Supreme will be a most welcomed addition to the farming sim genre. Most of the information on the game is available through the developers Twitter feed, which you can view here (be sure to follow while there).
