A Fold Apart explores what it’s like in a long-distance relationship.

With the rapid advancement of technological communication, more people than ever have experienced what it’s like to be in a long distance relationship. The weight of uncertainty combined with an unwavering longing can be quite the emotional roller coaster. Well, indie developers Lightning Rod Games have created a beautiful puzzle game, A Fold Apart, to allow gamers to explore this reality in a virtual way.

Come together in A Fold Apart.

In this wonderful heart-felt puzzle title, it is the players mission to guide their characters through a charming fold-able world with the ultimate goal of bringing your two characters together. Given that the game was heavily inspired by actual events in the developers lives, you get a true sense of what it’s like to be in a long-distance relationship. The sacrifices made by each individual to work toward becoming one again is experienced through the charming characters (whose genders are also customizable) created by devs who have been there.

The delightfully appealing graphics of A Fold Apart really help you to get the emotional feel of the game as well. With soft shapes and colors galore, we’re sure we will get to experience as close to the real happening as we can get from the virtual world.

A Fold Apart is set to be released in June of this year for the Nintendo Switch and PC, and later this year for Xbox One and PS4. For more information about this soul-stirring release, be sure to check out their website, and don’t forget to wishlist on Steam! For another great puzzle title, don’t miss Automachef!!

The April dev. log for Ooblets reveals new features and improvements!

The recently updated dev log for Ooblets let us in on some in-depth details in regards to the progress of this eagerly awaited title! The dynamic duo of a dev team has been hard at work to make sure the game is as streamlined as possible before the still unknown release date. This adorable title has already gained quite the following, mostly for it’s uber-cute art style and ingenious minion system (the Ooblets).

In case you haven’t heard, Ooblets is an extremely adorable farming SIM/creature collection game in the style of such classics as Animal Crossing and Pokemon. Only in this game, you don’t need to necessarily catch your creatures, instead, you grow them in your awesome garden! Your little friends will help you do many things as you explore the expansive lands before you.

    The juicy deets….

The updated dev log for last month mentions a few choice improvements! First and foremost, as usual, bug fixes! All those nasty little critters are being sought out and corrected as we speak! There has also been the addition of a heads-up display (HUD) to make for easier access to your quests and tasks.

Also, a new special homebaby grow system makes it so that the Ooblets you leave on your farm will help them grow faster, depending on the attributes of the individual Oobs. This adorable feature is implemented through dance. Watch your Ooblets groove for the betterment of your ecosystem!

In this update, you can now keep much better track of your cutesy creatures with the addition of an almanac. This will simplify the process of knowing which ones you have, and which ones you still need to grow! These are just the key features of the update (from our perspective), for the full details on what’s new and what’s to come, hop on over to the dev log! For more information about this charming title, check out everything myPotatoGames has to say about Ooblets.

A bit of R&R for these super-busy devs!

In a recent tweet from @MinekosMarket, it has been revealed that production of Mineko’s Night Market will be slowed due to some near cat-astrophic health concerns. That might be a bit exaggerated on our part, but maybe not! The creation of such a beautiful and whimsical game is sure to be a fur-midable endeavor.

While it was mentioned that this is more of a slowing than a halt, un-fur-tinately, it doesn’t appear that a new release date is as soon as we might hope. We here at myPotatoGames know the importance of peace and pace, however, and fully support the Mineko team in taking all the time they need.

If hiss-tory has taught us anything, it’s that slow and steady wins the race. Of course, all new updates will still be mew-sic to our ears, but all good things come in time! We would like to say thank you furry much to the Mineko’s Night Market team for all the hard work on this pur-fectly paw-some title. We wish you all the best going fur-ward!

For more information about Mineko’s Night Market, feel free to check myPotatoGames coverage of this lovely title! For up-to-date information, be sure to follow @MinekosMarket on Twitter!

Adorable games are always a great addition to video games and KeyWe is no exception. It doesn’t get much cuter then jumping into the role of two kiwi birds, each controlled by a real player and cooperatively solving puzzles together. If this sounds strange, funny and extremely cute to you, then this upcoming indie title might be your next new Co-op Puzzle addiction.

KeyWe is a Co-op experience designed to be enjoyed with friends and family, come together and play together. As the name suggest each player jumps into the role of a cute kiwi bird. Players are tasked to work together inside an old fashioned post office. According to the developers you will need to “Jump, flap, peck and but-slam your way across interactive landscape of levers, bells and buttons…” in order to get mail (messages) delivered on time.

It is up to the player to deliver the message to citizens of Bungalow Basin, we all know how packages can’t arrive soon enough, let alone if they get miss delivered.

The first KeyWe gameplay trailer reveals the first three of four seasons the game will feature. Each season will present the player with a variety of challenges. The summer chapter for example can surprise our kiwi bird friends with a powerful monsoon, you will then have to make sure to quickly send out an emergency signal to the beloved people of Bungalow Basin to keep everyone safe and sound. Check out the super cute KeyWe trailer below.

KeyWe is coming out on PC and Mac in the near future. Indie developer Stonewheat and sons hope to bring it to Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Playstation 4 as well.

Color the world your own way in Drawdog!

From the creator of the indie smash-hit “Wandersong”, Greg Lobanov, comes an RPG like we’ve never seen before. In Drawdog [working title], you play a doggo on a mission to bring color and art back into the world using only a giant paintbrush. Lobanov’s previous title, Wandersong, received a loving reception and created quite a buzz for it’s beautiful play-style and unique take on an art game. It appears that Drawdog will attempt to do the same, only this time for color instead of sound.

    What we know so far…

This game will surely tickle the fancy of not only all canine fanatics, but also capture the heart of any and all art enthusiasts. However, in this title, it is not so much about perfection as it is expression and invigoration. Your primary goal is to breathe life into your surroundings by adding color, which will inherently alter the moods of the characters that inhabit the land.

Your interactions with your environment will be your means by which you achieve progression, i.e. adding colors to items and objects to make them act in a certain way. You will use paint to solve puzzles and help your fellow townsfolk to change their surroundings to their liking. Each character along the way has it’s own unique and quirky additions to the story. This game is still in development, and has not recevied release date, nor has it been determined exactly what platforms the title will be released on.

    A little gameplay GIF…

For more information on Drawdogs, follow them on Twitter! For more information about Lobanov’s previous title, Wandersong, check out our tidbit from myPotatoGames!
