    Singing Constantly

Marina thinks she’s so cute singing the same darn song over and over in the plaza from her hideous hole for a mouth. Do you have a resident that does this and want them to pipe down? Bash them with a net.

    Naruto Running/Being Airplanes

One resident ‘being an airplane’ is bad enough, but sometimes three of my island’s residents will plot a joint Naruto run (yes, I see you what you’re really doing) in the plaza. You’re scaring the bugs! Did Blathers send you? A solution for this behaviour you ask? Again, bash them all with nets.

Getting In The Way Whilst Terraforming

Um Rocket, I’m trying to pave? A solution? you could just give them a little nudge out of the way. Or, you could sentence them to six hours in jail for being a menace whilst YOU attempt to improve the island (also, for being ugly). If you don’t have jail bars, not to worry, just dig a nice few holes around them. owo

Sitting In The Middle Of A Bridge

“Hmm, I know where I’m going to sit and eat my lunch on this vast, beautiful island.” said Beardo. “Right in the middle of that bridge over there that connects the entire island!” Solution? you could gently push them until they stand up, and then nudge them off the bridge. Alternatively, you could passive-aggressively remove all of the bridges and pole vault. After all, the others ‘bearly’ contributed anyway.

Pretending To Think About Moving Out

Yes, you, Rocket, you serial offender, you. Wondering around with a pondering expression and ‘that’ cloud above your head. I get my hopes up that you’re thinking about finally leaving and decide to talk to you! But instead you just randomly give me some dumb item I already have. Solution? Amiibo time!

Alongside Daisy-Mae, C.J. and Flick are visiting NPC’s that are new to the franchise. However, did you know that they are partners, and that there are hints that they are the offspring of Chip and Nat? Here’s everything we know about C.J. & Flick In Animal Crossing: New Horizons

    C.J.

C.J. is a blue-eyed freckled beaver who hosts the fishing tourneys, replacing Chip. He will also randomly visit your island in search for up-and-coming fishing talent for his social media followers.

He will buy fish from players during fishing tourneys and his random visits for 150% of their usual selling price. Although players will need to complete his ‘Seasports challenge’ before he will offer to buy their fish during his random visits. These challenges entail catching three fish within the same size range in a row.

If players catch three of the same fish, C.J. can get his ‘partner’ (Flick) to create a model of it for you free of charge. You will receive the model in the mail the next day.

    Flick

Flick is a slightly intense red chameleon who is a major bug enthusiast.

He hosts the Bug Off events, replacing the green chameleon, Nat. Like C. J., Flick will also visit your island randomly from time to time to collect bug specimens. He will pay 150% of the usual selling price of bugs during both random visits and the Bug Off events.

As an artist, Flick will take commissions from players if they bring him three of the same bugs. He will then mail a model of that particular bug to the player, which will be received the next day. Flick will only take one commission at a time.

    Fun Facts

It’s heavily implied that C.J. and Flick are the offspring of Chip and Nat respectively. C.J. more so, as his name could suggest he is called ‘Chip junior’, and he also uses the phrase ‘nyuk nyuk’, like Chip would. He also highly resembles Chip and they are both beavers. In the Japanese and Localized versions of the game, their dialogue tells us that they are partners, with Flick taking commisions and creating models of bugs, and also of fish, via C.J.

The Japanese dialogue gives players a little more insight into the history of the two new NPC’s. C.J. will mention that Flick doesn’t get along with his family, especially his father. This is because whilst they both love bugs, Flick’s father likes to eat them. This, alongside C.J. mentioning that him and Flick’s families have known each other for a long time, could imply that Nat is Flick’s father.

Being able to customize your NookPhone case is pretty cool. And you probably know the drill by now, but if you have the Custom Designs app on your NookPhone, purchase the Custom Design Pro Editor for 800 Miles, and have unlocked the Able Sisters, you will be able to use ID codes for some awesome designs (providing you have a Switch Online membership).

(See here and here for some seriously cool custom clothing). But people aren’t stopping at just clothing designs. There are some amazing paths, signs, and phonecases being created and shared by talented people. A good place to find some of these designs is Nook’s Island (formerly Nookpedia).

But to save you some browsing, here are some of the best NookPhone case designs in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

As was hinted in some of the New Horizons gameplay footage and trailers, players are able to customize the case of their aptly named ‘NookPhone. The NookPhone has a lot of useful apps including the Critterpedia, Camera, Terraforming app and more. Here’s how to jazz up and customize your NookPhone Case in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

    Step 1

Head to the Nook Stop terminal in Residents Services and select the ‘Redeem Nook Miles’ option. Here, you will be able to purchase a customizable phone case kit for 1,800 Nook Miles.

After the pucrhase, the kit will be mailed to your home and will be in your mailbox the next day.

    Step 2

After opening the gift containing the customizable phone case kit, head over to a workbench (either in your home, or at Residents Services). Interact with the DIY workbench and select ‘Customize something.’

    Step 3

You will then be able to change the colour of your NookPhone case.

If you have obtained the custom designs app on your NookPhone, you can then use a custom design on your case.

Alternatively, talking to Sable on a regular basis will garner you some additional patterns that you can use when customizing certain things. I found that her rainbow pattern looked pretty cool, so opted for that.

In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, a creepy alien broadcast plays on your television from 3:33am to 3:34am on Sundays and Mondays. Albeit on a Saturday instead, The 3:33am Alien Broadcast Returns In Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

If you own a TV in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and have it turned on at 3:33am on a Saturday, you will see the following slightly eerie alien broadcast. Like in New Leaf, it will last until 3:34am, when the static that preceeded the broadcast will return.

It’s one of the slightly creepier easter eggs in the game (although I can’t really choose between the broadcast and Zipper when it comes to creepy).

However, not many people are awake at that time, and the game is otherwise, (mostly) wholesome. ?

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a beautiful game that shows that Nintendo have really listened to the Animal Crossing fanbase. Additionally, they have been on the ball with patching any issues that have arisen. However, nothing can be 100% perfect. Therefore, these are some of the changes that players would like to see in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Access To Your Storage From Outside Of Your House

Even with 40 inventory slots I find my pockets get pretty full. And like, I don’t want to carry that Monster statue or that pool around with me whilst I’m landscaping yanno? They weigh a tonne. So please Nintendo, let us access our items in storage whilst outdoors. Even if we need to build/buy a storage box(es), it would save us some time and effort.

Being Able To Access Your Materials In Storage When Crafting In Your House

I find it particularly annoying to up to the diy workbench in my house, try to craft an item, only to be told I don’t have the 6 iron nuggets or whatever necessary. And you know you have 30 of them in your storage so have to leave the workbench, get the items out of storage, and then try again. It’s not too much hassle, but a patch that allows you to craft using resources in storage would be nice.

Being Able To Craft Multiple Items At Once

This would be especially helpful when crafting items such as fish bait. Being able to batch craft items would be so much quicker and so much easier. It would be even cooler if you could craft a variety of different items at once, providing you have the materials to do so.

    Animal Crossing New Horizons Crafting

Being Able To Travel From One Mystery Tour Island To Another

Obviously you would need enough Nook Miles Tickets on you to hop from one deserted island to another. However, it would save a lot of time, and the hassle of going through the same dialogue with Orville over and over.

The Ability To Add Multiple Variations Of Clothing To Your Cart In The Able Sisters Store

The changing room is a pretty cool way of seeing how items of that particular day look on your character, and to browse the different variations of clothing items. However, It’s quite frustrating to have to keep re-entering the changing room if you want to purchase multiple variations of a clothing item. Why not be able to just add them all to your cart?

Letting You Know What Items You Already Have When Shopping At Nook’s Cranny Or The Able Sisters

I must have ordered the same darn rose wallpaper three or four times by now, as there are so many floral printed ones, and I can never remember if I have that particular one in my storage or not. The same with clothing, I have like 3 pairs of white patterned stockings because I have the memory of a goldfish. Therefore it would be cool if you were able to see if you already have these items in your storage, or have ordered them previously.

A Meter To Show Your Friendship With Other Islanders

Whilst you can somewhat gauge your friendship with islanders (being able to give them presents when talking to them, etc), it would be nice to know exactly how pally you are with them. Especially if you don’t want them to feel neglected and leave your island. Therefore a friendship meter would be a cool addition to the game.

A Meter To Show Much Life Is Left In A Tool

Some tools last longer than others in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. However, not even the golden tools will last forever. Therefore it would be helpful to know how much life is left in each tool via a meter. Then you could go customize it and reset its durabilitity (works with regular tools)… ;D

    Highlighted Areas When Terraforming

Terraforming drives me crazy as I’m forever creating cliffs where I don’t want them and and creating random tiny ponds when waterscaping. It would be very helpful if you could see exactly where you will be terraforming, like when placing bridges and inclines for example.

Being Able To Assemble Outfits And Add Them To Your Wand Without Taking The Clothing From Your Wardrobe

If I only have one pair of glasses in my wardrobe, they can only be assigned to one wand outfit and will be taken from my wardrobe. Meaning unless I buy a bunch more, my character is essentially blind when wearing other assigned outfits, like I’d be without my specs.

Knowing what ‘theme’ clothes belong to in order to help assemble an outfit for Label

Sometimes it can be a bit tricky knowing what Label is looking for. She will give you hints and an item of clothing to help, but take her ‘formal’ challenge for example. She suggest something you might wear to a friend’s graduation, but gave me a school blazer. I’ve dressed up as a queen and a schoolgirl and both seem to get her approval, interestingly.

Being Able To Order The Different Colour Variations Of An Item You Have Previously Bought

Take the frilly ankle socks for example, you only purchased the pink version, but got your hands on a yellow dreamy dress. You’d like some yellow frilly ankle socks to go with it. Only you have to wait until the Able Sisters next have the frilly ankle socks available. Unless you time-travel, but doggo does a disapproval.

You may have noticed the ability to craft an ocarina as a DIY recipe, or spotted a guitar in Nook’s Cranny. There’s a whole bunch of instruments that can be ‘played’ in the game. Whether you just want to make a bunch of loud noises with friends, or get creative with them, here’s all of the instruments in Animal Crossing: New Horizons & how to get them.

First off, you can ‘play’ an instrument by interacting with it/equipping it using the A button. You may just think that instruments like the ocarina, electric bass guitar, etc, play a load of random notes, which is mostly true.

However, like in New Leaf, if you are in a room that is playing music (or even outdoors in New Horizons), the instrument will play notes/chords that match the particular song you might be playing. This means you can have a multiplayer in-game band! However I still prefer the idea of 8 people just smashing the A button to make a load of loud noises from random instruments, and calling the ‘song’ ‘2020’.

The below list includes all of the instruments that we have discovered so far, and excludes equipment such as the microphone and effects rack. Let us know if we’ve missed any.

    Ocarina

The Ocarina can be crafted once the player has purchased the DIY for Beginners recipe book. It requires 5x clay to craft.

    Wooden Fish

The DIY recipe for the Wooden Fish instrument can be found in bottles that wash up on your beach. You will need 3x wood to craft it.

    Empty Can Kalimba

You can get the DIY recipe for the Empty Can Kalimba in bottles that wash ashore. Another way of obtaining the recipe for it is by reeling in a can whilst fishing. This may inspire your player and unlock the recipe also. You’ll need 1x empty can, 1x wood and 1x iron nugget to craft it.

    Gong

The DIY recipe for the gong can also be found in bottles that wash up on your beach. You will need 6x iron nuggets and 5x wood to craft it.

    Ukelele

The Ukelele is a craftable item that requires 5x hardwood. However, it is not yet clear how you obtain the recipe for it.

    Upright Piano

An Upright Piano can be bought from Nook’s Cranny for 53,000 bells

    Alto Saxophone

The Alto Saxophone costs 3,400 bells and can be bought from Nook’s Cranny

    Violin

You can purchase the Violin from Nook’s Cranny for 140,000 bells

    Electric Guitar (style 1)

This style of Electric Guitar can be bought from Nook’s Cranny for 3,100 bells

    Electric Guitar (Style 2)

You can buy this style of Electric Guitar from Nook’s Cranny for 71,000 bells

    Electric Bass Guitar

The Electric Bass Guitar can be purchased from Nook’s Cranny for 82,000 bells

    Synthesizer

You can purchase the Synthesizer from Nook’s Cranny for 66,000 bells

    Grand Piano

The Grand Piano can be bought from Nook’s Cranny for 260,000 bells

    Cello

This can be purchased from Nook’s Cranny for 130,000 bells

    Harp

You can purchase the Harp from Nook’s Cranny for 130,000 bells

    Virgo Harp

The Virgo Harp is part of the Zodiac Series. It is a craftable item, and requires Virgo Fragments to make. These fragments can be found along with star fragments on the beach the day after meteor showers. However, Virgo fragments can only be found between August 23rd to September 22nd.

    Marimba

The Marimba can be purchased from Nook’s Cranny for 4,300 bells

    Pan Flute

I obtained the DIY recipe for this from inside a bottle that washed up on one of my beaches. The recipe requires 7x young spring bamboo, so if you don’t have bamboo already, then you should go on a mystery tour where you may find an island with bamboo.

    Tambourine

This can be purchased from Nook’s Cranny for 1,500 bells

Check out this awesome YouTube video where a guy uses in-game instruments and garageband to create a song.

    Post Image

Players have been posting some intriguing dialogue from their island’s residents to social media. Tweets of videos and screenshots shared from players’ Switch consoles and things people have noticed themselves, have left us Animal Crossing fans puzzled but excited. In a future update, it’s possible that an expanded museum, Brewster, and more shops could come to Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

    An Expanded Museum

You may have noticed that the museum has a staircase leading to nowhere. Additionally, there is a cordoned off area in the far back right-hand side of the fossil section of the museum. This could simply be for decor however. You might also have noticed that the museum lacks a section for art, unlike previous games of the franchise. Excitingly, Twitter user @sylvidia posted the following tweet of a conversation between her and Fang:

Could an art section be included in an update?

    Brewster And The Roost

The Roost, is a coffee shop run by a pigeon called Brewster. Brewster has appeared in all of the mainline games (as well as the film and some non-mainline games) since Wild World. He will always seem rather reserved at first, but will bond with players if you visit him and buy coffee a lot.

Therefore ’tis a crying shame that the coo-l pigeon is yet to make an appearance in New Horizons. This may be about to change however, due to the dialogue of Clay (shown below) who says that Brewster advised him not to drink that much coffee:

Additionally, in a French screenshot, villager Olympe (Maddie in English versions) specifically mentions Brewster and the Roost. You can tell this due to the colours of the words, which always indicate characters and places.

    More Shops

Upon speaking to Isabelle in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, she sometimes gives an unusual tip. She says the island could do with more storefronts, but we can only build two, so are Nintendo planning more?

Below are some of the past shops/vendors/buildings that may or may not make a reappearance.

City folk introduced a variety of new shops/buildings/vendors to the Animal Crossing franchise. These include:

    • The Auction House
    • The Fortune Shop
    • GracieGrace
    • Kicks
    • Phineas
    • Shampoodle
    • The Happy Home Academy
    • The Marquee

New Leaf introduced the following shops/buildings:

    • Club Lol
    • The Dream Suite
    • Leif’s Gardening Store
    • The Photo Booth

    Likelihood Of These Shops/Building/Vendors Returning

The marquee from City Folk is unlikely to be a building that players can visit, as players can now learn new reactions from other islanders.

Similarly, Club Lol is highly unlikely to make a return, as after progressing to a certain point in the game, K.K. Slider appears at the plaza on Saturdays, and takes song requests after 6pm.

The Happy Home Academy is also unlikely to be one of the buildings to appear in an update given that they sneakily evaluate your home without you noticing and will score/award you via mail.

Shampoodle is unlikely to be a shop included in an update given how players are able to change their own facial features and hairstyles and colors.

It’s possible that kicks could set up his own shop, especially as he is the only vendor of backpacks and bags. However, for the time being, he is one of the island’s travelling merchants.

Whilst nothing has hinted to it as of yet, the fortune teller’s tent/store run by Katrina would be a desirable addition to islands.

Again, nothing has hinted at there being a GracieGrace store in a future update, this was always a place where players could purchase high-end (albeit a little pricey) furniture.

Phineas has had two different roles in the franchise. His first appearance was in City Folk, and his second was in New Leaf. It’s unlikely he will hand out scout-like badges to players like in New Leaf, as Nook Miles have kind of replaced that. However, it would be super cute to see him handing out free pinwheels and balloons to players in the plaza, like he would do in the city in City Folk.

As there currently isn’t a section for art in the game’s museum, it would make sense that Redd would not appear and sell (mostly) fake art. However, it is possible he could appear in an update, especially if the museum had an art section.

It’s unlikely the Photo Booth from New Leaf will return, as players have a camera app on their NookPhone.

The Dream Suite would be a nice addition, as it would allow players to visit other people’s islands and share their own without the worry of anything being destroyed or taken.

Leif’s Gardening Shop would also be a nice addition, as Nook’s cranny is very limited in the plant department.
