I’m so excited every time I get to share updates with you on Critter Cove, a town-building and exploration game by Gentleman Rat. The main focus of this update, Devblog 8, is the increasing variety of player character customization and a look at the changing island to which you’ll be meeting plenty of interesting characters. Critter Cove is still in early development so things are still subject to change as they progress.

    Mix and Match Body Parts

We got to see a video of the early character creation featuring a human character and a fox character. As the developers have mentioned previously, you’ll be able to swap limbs and heads with any other animal options and change their colors. The mechanics are now in place and we have a good sample size of all of the animal variations with a video below. Looks like you can be a mouse, an owl, an otter, a lemur, a dinosaur, a raccoon, a beaver, and everything all at once! The list is still growing so I can’t wait to see what’s next.

    Help Fix Up the Town

Previously, the town was barren and you had to build it up to make it great again. This is done by fulfilling requests from the villagers and befriending them. Villagers that will be going about their daily routines and reacting to things that you do and accomplish. The developers have decided to go another route with the town as it ” it looked and felt barren at the start.” Now all the buildings are already in place, however, they need major repairs. It’ll be a great way to know what you’ve fixed and how much work there’s left to do!

Next up, we get our first view of the interior of a shop run by an adorable raccoon critter. You’ll be able to physically view all of the shop items as they are and purchase them by walking up to and selecting them. Once purchased an item is sold out until it is restocked the next day. Shops can be upgraded to display more wares.

To follow along another town-building game, I recommend checking this one out here: Rolling Hills: What We Know About This Sushi Restaurant Management Game.

Nintendo recently updated their website to reflect the holiday season, and revealed their Black Friday deals.

Being that it is basically the console of choice when it comes to family gaming, I can certainly see that Nintendo Switch will be getting a lot of attention this year. Even if Nintendo isn’t willing to back down on the price of the console, they are still offering some good deals that have given me some great gift ideas.

    Nintendo Black Friday deals

Nintendo will be selling the classic Switch with a copy of Mario Kart 8 for $299.99. So basically a free game when you buy the console. There are also deals on a few games, as well as 25% off the joy-cons. To see all the great Black Friday deals, visit the official Nintendo website. Of course, you are probably all aware of this title that released just this past Halloween on the Nintendo Switch! I have been playing the game myself and do agree with other critics that it is the best game of the series to date in terms of graphics, gameplay including the new moves (Slam is my new fav), and Gooigi. Another significant addition that made all the difference, the game autosaves every time you walk through a door.

Playing with someone cooperatively as Gooigi reduces the time it takes to suck everything up and significantly helps in boss battles and when surrounded by ghosts. The best part, Gooigi can die via enemies and water, but he can always come back shortly after without using lives. With all of these exciting new features in Luigi’s Mansion 3, I wanted to take the time to focus on Polterpup, the star of the show, as he should not be overlooked.

Polterpup is Part of the Family

During the end of the second game, Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon on the 3DS, Luigi actually adopts this lovable and hyper ghost-doggy, My heart melted when I started up the new title which has Luigi and co. riding the train to the Last Resort hotel along with the family pupper. Polterpup’s in-game bio is as follows: “A ghost dog who loves Luigi and is always by his side. He’ll come to Luigi’s aid when he’s in truly dire situations!” Every time Polterpup helps Luigi, I love to hear him respond with: “Aw, Polterpup” as lovingly as possible.

Instead of having to use your Dark-Light and chase this little troublemaker everywhere, his role is that of a guide. At the beginning, he will show you which buttons to press and when, as a sort of tutorial. Throughout the game your guide-dog will show you either the right direction to follow to complete your objective, or show you a secret spot with either money or gems to collect.

    Polterpup Saves the Day

There still isn’t much to purchase with all of that cash you save up that is very useful, besides the Golden Bones again. Especially when you can only purchase so many until they’re sold out before needing to progress the story. When your health reaches 0 and you have a Golden Bone in your inventory, Polterpup will lick Luigi back to life and take the bone with him as payment. Although I know he would do it for free.

I had a lot of fun playing Luigi’s Mansion 3 and it was nice that this time around the levels were a little shorter, as well as the overall game. Which actually makes it perfect for the portability of the Switch. You can also use your joy-con motion sensors to make using your Poltergust G-00 surprisingly easier to use when changing directions. My only wish now is to get a spin-off all about Polterpup, and Polterkitty, on an adventure Homeward Bound-style!

I loved every minute playing this game from the wacky ghost shennigans to the sneaky Easter eggs, and of course every scene with Polterpup. I highly recommend you purchase the game on the Nintendo Switch eShop right now or you can grab it on Amazon for a small discount right here!

Garfield is back with an all new racing game coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch on November 19th but launches today on Steam already!

The original Garfield Kart was released in November of 2013, and wasn’t very well received. Many players found that the super jump ability was just a bit too overpowered when it came to taking shortcuts. But I could never hold a grudge against such a cuddly kitty. So well known for being lazy and munching on lasagna, it is kind of surprising that he’d be willing to go through such high paced action again. Well, here is hoping that this foray into the kart world will treat him better than the last.

    About Garfield Furious Kart Racing

In Garfield Furious Kart Racing you will now be able to play as 8 different characters from the Garfield universe – Garfield, Odie, Jon, Nermal, Arlene, Liz, Harry and Squeak will all be here. The game will also come with 16 different tracks for Garfield and his buddies to go head-to-head. Like Mario Kart, Furious Racing will feature the modes Grand Prix, Single Race and Time Trial.

    Garfield Furious Kart Racing Release

Garfield Furious Kart Racing is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC in Europe today. Fans in North America can already get the game on Steam but we will have to wait for the console release until November 19th.

For more racing news, check out Mario Kart Tour, the first mobile game for the Mario Kart series that will soon get a new Multiplayer update where you can race against friends or new players from all over the world!

This 3D cooperative (1-4 players) physics-based puzzler is about using your adorably tiny hands to connect with your friends and create new shapes. When playing it in single-player mode, you can swap between pieces. Grabimals, developed by SAD & SON, will be releasing sometime in 2020 for PC and Nintendo Switch.

As you can see from the images below, there are 6 different puzzle types you may encounter while playing. There’s the Gap where you’ll need to become a bridge, the Build where you form an object like a chair, the Ride where the example is trying to stay on a mechanical bull, the Shadow where you’ll be recreating shapes via your shadows, the Catch where you grab and hold objects, and Play which looks like a fun Jenga party!

    About Grabimals

Grabimals merges the concept of building and playing into a brand new experience where players control a party of unique creatures and connect them together to solve a wide variety of puzzles.
