Éloïse Laroche has posted another devlog update on Steam with great new features! She’s the sole developer behind Alchemy Story, an adorable farming simulation game. If you missed our early demo summary and gameplay footage of Alchemy Story, you can catch up with us right here. To remind you, all the villagers have been turned into animals and it is up to you to turn them human again with a little bit of alchemy. Below you’ll find a summary of the 4th character added to the game which also means you get a new area and a new item.
A new character has been added to the village, but she’ll remain an animal until you help her out! Penelope is a skilled miner that will help you to explore the mines. Once you help her remember who she is, she’ll sell you hammers, minecarts, and different ores everyday.
Much like the forest area that you unlock thanks to Jasmine, the mines are an entirely new area you can explore and get new items from. The developer plans to add secret areas and more quests in the mine later on in development of the game.
Gather stone, coal, silver, gold, sapphire and ruby from these boulders! Those items will be useful either as building materials, to fuel furnaces and ovens, to brew potions, or to trade in exchange of coins.
To progress in the mine, you’ll need to fuel your furnace. Different ingredients such as wood, coal, and maple leaves can be used as fuel.
You can buy up to six different minecarts, one for each type of ore. Each one will allow you to carry more of that item in your inventory. As always, the developer is skilled at making anything look adorable, even minecarts. Also, what a creative and visually-pleasing way to show what you are carrying in your inventory!
This new tool can be upgraded up to four times in Penelope’s shop to spend less energy breaking rocks! Again, you’ll have access to these hammers once you encounter Penelope and complete some tasks.
Along with this newest update there were also a few bug fixes. Stay tuned for more on this game with myPotatoGames as we continue to keep an eye on the development of Alchemy Story. Want to catch up on other updates? Check out our article on Equilinox here, a relaxing nature simulation game.

The BurgerTime series has been around seemingly since time eternal, or 1982, depending on your view of time. These games are 2D platformers in the style of the original Donkey Kong, and have had titles on many platforms, such as NES, CalicoVision, Atari and Gameboy (to name a few). Well, this classic series is getting a new platform, the Nintendo Switch, as well as an all new coat of paint and title.
In BurgerTime Party, you will remain as the classic protagonist, Peter Pepper. It is Peter’s job to put together all of the ingredients for his burger while avoiding the roaming enemies. These enemies now have a face with the recent update from G-Mode. Each of the whimsical enemies adds their own bit of difficulty by moving in different ways, whether it be to directly follow Peter, or wandering around at random.
BurgerTime Party! was only recently revealed for coming to the Switch, and still has no release date. We cant wait to check it out, and add it to our list of our favorite food-themed games. With Overcooked 2 and Cook Serve Delicious 2 still on our plates, it will be tough to make room for! But as true games, we are always up for the challenge!

In a recent post from @concernedape, it has been revealed that our beloved farming SIM title is getting an expansive update. Of course, there could never be enough to do in Stardew Valley. Nothing quite like spending every morning tending your garden and caring for your animals before setting out on whatever adventure is necessary for that day! Be it reaching the next elevator level in the mine, or using those mined resources to get that beautiful gold ax, every day is wonderful in Stardew Valley.
So, obviously, the news of this update being “packed with new stuff” is quite welcomed indeed. What new activities await? One new feature that has been divulged is the addition of a new character ability for Marlon, who can now be paid to retrieve items that you may have dropped in those hectic mines. Nothing worse than getting way down in the mines, then losing the gold hoe that you shouldn’t have brought with you in the first place. Well, no longer, thanks to our wonderful dev!
There is also mention in the Tweet of some “quality of life” improvements. These features are being implemented to streamline the gameplay in the Valley. As to what exactly this means, we could only speculate. Whatever the features may be, we can be sure that they will make Stardew Valley an even greater place to spend our leisure time.

The highly anticipated multiplayer update for the PC version of the game was released on 1st August 2018.
The solo developer of Stardew Valley (ConcernedApe) has previously announced that the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch versions of the game will also get a multiplayer update eventually. The developer has confirmed in tweets and updates that the co-op will not be cross-platform. As disappointing as this is for fans to hear, the decision is understandable.
Whilst an exact date hasn’t been given, the game’s publisher (Chucklefish) has recently confirmed that Stardew Valley for Switch will be next to receive the Multiplayer update. Having been submitted for final approval, it is expected that the update will be available either by the end of the year or in early 2019.
