.Age is a cute little village creation game that gets pretty crazy!

Every time I play a new game where I get to build and create, I tend not to put it down for a while. .Age is a soon-to-be-released village builder that takes place in the dark ages. The developer describes the game as being almost a hybrid of Faster than Light and The Settlers, to give an idea as to what to expect in gameplay.

    .Age

In .Age, you are the village elder in a town that has cursed with an apocalyptic curse. This causes all kinds of trouble for you and the villagers that you must protect while growing your village. You will need to gather resources and do research as your town grows, which will aid in the health and wealth of your citizens.

The game plays in a turn based style, giving you the opportunity to plan how you will respond to each crazy event that comes out of being a cursed town. You will face a wide variety of trials and tribulations, such as allergies, earthquakes and even volcanoes. Do you have what it takes to survive this terrible blight?

    .Age Trailer

.Age will be released this year and will be available for Mac, Pc and Linux. For more information about .Age, you can check out the Steam page, and don’t forget to wishlist while you are there. For up to date info on the game, be sure to follow the developers on Twitter.

The SIMS franchise will finally have some real competition with Paralives!

Solo developer Alex Masse has been working diligently on his beautiful and structurally amazing title, Paralives! Since our first time touching base on this upcoming epic, there have been few changes and updates that we would like to share. In our initial coverage we discovered that in Paralives, players will not only build their dream houses with tools Sim-fans could only dream of until now, but the game also features a small open world town and an engaging life simulation aspect. We at myPotatoGames are all about games that let us create our own world, and live and love as we choose in a land of our own design. In this regard, Paralives will be the next SIM game that takes us away.

    What’s new in Paralives

In a recent interview with GameInformer, we learned a lot about what drives Alex, and what inspired him to create a game that just looks to put SIMS to shame. In the interview, Alex mentions “I think what life simulation games have been missing is powerful and intuitive tools that allow players to easily create any house with precision…A lot of people want to recreate themselves and their own house in the game so it’s important that everyone is able to achieve this. Paralives is also built from the start to take place in an open-world neighborhood, offering many fresh options for exploration and story making.” It is clear that with motivation like this, Paralives will be the game we always wanted the SIMS to be, but never was.

Paralives has grown much in popularity since hitting the scene not too long ago, and Alex has been doing his darnedest to keep up with the fans clamoring to know all there is to know about his game. If you want to be a part of the buzz and inspiration in making Paralives the best it can be, you should feel inclined to join the discussion on Discord! There you will find updates for the game as well as have the opportunity to add inspiration for the making of Paralives. For example, in a recent announcement on Discord, we learned that in Paralives, a person will be called a Para, and the inhabitants of the land will be called Parafolks. These names were decided through an AMA on Patreon, which is where true followers go to support this currently-being-developed project.

A Bit of Building in Paralives

For more information about Paralives, you can check out the Paralives hub. Be sure to follow the game on Discord. You can also keep up-to-date on this title by following Alex on Twitter.

I really enjoy the relaxing aspects that I can always find in building games like Feelin.

    feeling

I love to just kick back and relax with my laptop (or Switch if the game calls for it) and just build to my hearts content. Games like Minecraft and Dragon Quest Builders 2 that let you build as much as your imagination allows. I definitely get that feeling from Feelin, an artistic world-building sandbox game.

Feelin has a super soft look that never gives off anything but chill vibes. To top it off, the building aspect is actually just as relaxing as the art style. Use simple materials like wood and stone to build anything that you want.

    Feelin

You get to be on your very own deserted island, with no one to put limitations on your creations. Build towering treehouses with a winding staircase, or even your own little town. Build a boat house over the water on stilts, or a lighthouse to overlook all that you have made.

Whatever it is that you wish to build, you can in Feelin. Feelin is currently in early access on Steam if you would like to give it a try. This is certainly a title that I am going to keep my eye on! If you would also like to keep an eye on it, be sure to follow the game on Twitter.

There is a reason fishing is part of most popular simulation and farming games. Stardew Valley, Story of Seasons and even Animal Crossing just to name a few. Reel Fishing Road Trip Adventure focuses on the act of fishing with cooking and crafting elements sprinkled in.

Natsume’s most recent tweet about this game lauded it as having “Crafting, cooking, a full RPG storyline, and of course – fishing!” The idea of a full RPG storyline is intriguing! Most fishing simulation games have goals and maybe a bare-bones framework of a story, but if Road Trip Adventure really has a full RPG storyline, that’ll be pretty unique. I am looking forward to learning just what this story entails when the game releases on September 17th.

    reel fishing road trip adventure

Reel Fishing: Road Trip adventure features 10 unique locations where you can relax and cast your fishing rod to catch some of the many fish the game has to offer.

The game is already up for pre-order if you’d like to make Reel Fishing: Road Trip Adventure yours, you can get it through Amazon on Nintendo Switch for only $29.99 , as well as for PlayStation 4.

One of my favorite indie games, Village Monsters, has been making leaps and bounds in production.

I absolutely love Village Monsters! Not too long ago, I even got the chance to sit down with the developer, Josh Bossie, to get the inside scoop on what Village Monsters is all about. So in case you missed it, you can find everything you need to know about the basics right there.

Since then, there has been a lot going on in the world of Village Monsters. The biggest probably being that there is a new demo now available, so we all get to check out the updates to Village Monsters for ourselves. As for what changes have come recently…there are plenty.

    Village Monsters Update

One of my favorite new additions in the Village Monsters update is the inclusion of taming creatures. You can get your own critter to follow you, and share all the joy and tribulations on your journey with a little partner.

There is also now a jobs board to help keep you busy in between primary goals. You will use the board to help you get closer with some of the monsters around town. Complete a little mini game (or job) for a character, and they will grow to like you that much more.

Some of the changes made the game a bit more aesthetically pleasing. Lots of adjustments to lighting have made the game easier on the eyes. Changes to the music and sound effects have also given the game a more soothing feel.

For more in-depth information on all the changes coming to Village Monsters, be sure to check out the official Village Monsters website. You can also follow the developer on Twitter to stay up-to-date on Village Monsters.
