Play at your own pace, meet villagers, raise a dog and simply experience the country side in Japanese Rural Life an upcoming life simulation game.
I have had the privilege to sit down with the developer of one of the most anticipated upcoming indie games. The studio that also made the beloved Food Pup Truck is now working on a village and life simulation game!
Japanese Rural Life is all about experiencing the country side in Japan and enjoying the daily life. Fishing and farming are just a few of the activities that you can enjoy in this game.
Very few details are known about the title but during the interview I learned that players can experience a different gameplay during each of the four seasons the game offers. Furthermore a Nintendo Switch and PC release might be a possibility! Check out the full interview below for some more insights on this game!
Q: Do you have a name for the game yet? So far it is being called
“Japanese Rural Life” is this the codename? Or the final name
for the game?
A: No.Unfortunately, the name is yet to be determined. “Japanese Rural Life” is not a development code. I really liked the phrase “Japanese Rural Life” in your article and I’m using it as a hashtag on Twitter. #JapaneseRuralLife I want to treat you to some Japanese tea.
Q: Will the game be available on iOS and Android? Are you considering
a Nintendo Switch release?
A: Yes. First of all, I will release it on iOS and Android. If I can find a publisher who can make the most of it, I’d like to release it for the Nintendo Switch and PC as well.
Q: When do you plan to release the game?
A: Not decided. Thanks to your article, a lot of users got to know about this game. I’m adding a lot of elements to meet the expectations of a lot of users.
I’ll announce the release date on my Twitter account when I know it.(@game_start_llc). I would be very happy if you would post about it then!
Q: What is the main purpose / plot of the game? What will players get
to do in the game? Is there a story?
A: The main purpose is to let people enjoy the Japanese country life. I’ll provide a bit of a story, but that’s not really the point. It is of utmost importance that users enjoy rural life in Japan.
Q: What other games have inspired the Japanese Rural Life game?
A: This is a very difficult question. This is because if I say the name of a particular game, users will picture it and expect that game. So, please let me leave this question unanswered. Incidentally, I love “Animal Crossing”.
Q: From the first few screenshots released it appears there is farming and fishing? Can you confirm these activities will be in the game? What other activities will players be able to enjoy?
A: Yes. Users can enjoy farming and fishing. As for the other actions, they are still secret. I’m working hard on it, it’s in production. Incidentally, I love raising dogs.
Q: Will there be any sort of multiplayer / gift sharing ?
A: No. Server management can be very costly. However, I understand that having an online element makes the game even more fun. If a lot of users enjoy my game, I might implement an online element in an update. Please play a lot of my games and support me!
Q: Is there anything you like to share with our audience and fans of
the game?
A: Thanks to this site and its viewers, we’ve been able to get a lot of feedback! The world is in a very difficult situation right now. All I can do is make a fun game that will make you smile a little bit. I would be happy if you could wait a little longer. Thank you for your continued support of me and myPotatoGames!
Big thanks to the tiny Game Start LLC indie studio for taking the time to share some insights on this adorable game!

You may have noticed a rusted communicator part in your recycling bin and wondered if it is just junk. However, rusted communicator parts can be used in the game. Here’s some info on the purpose of and how to acquire rusted communicator parts in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
Rusted communicator parts are essential materials in order to craft the Robot Hero Nook Miles recipe. If you have the Robot Hero recipe, and 30 rusted parts as well as:
The Robot Hero item is yours!
Gulliver often can be found unconscious on your beach. Upon waking him, he needs to contact his crew with his ‘handy dandy’ device and be rescued. (Even though he’s a seagull?). However, it turns out his device is not as handy or dandy as he thought. He will request your help in searching for five (non-rusted) communicator parts on your island’s beaches. They resemble manila clams, spout a small amount of water and can be retrieved by digging them up with a shovel. The days Gulliver wash up are random, but the day after, there will always be a rusted communicator part in the recycling box.
The reason I told you about helping Gulliver? Well time for a not so wholesome method of gaining those rusted communicator parts more quickly. If you agree to help Gulliver, and dig up the five communicator parts he needs to be rescued, but don’t give them to him, eventually, they will turn into rusted communicator parts also.
If the crafting materials for the Robot Hero item still seem a little extreme, but you’d really like one, why not check out sites like Nookazon. Here, you may be able to facilitate a trade with somebody for one. 🙂
Sorry, we can’t answer that one. Fill your beaches with rusted communicator parts? Oh the ‘iron’-y.
I’ll let myself out.

Providing you have the Custom Designs app on your NookPhone, you can create your own designs (including transparent ones) and scan QR codes to obtain other people’s designs. If you have unlocked the Able Sisters store in New Horizons, you will probably know that there is a kiosk at the back of the store.
Once you have used Nook Miles to purchase the Pro Design upgrade, and have a Switch Online membership, you can share and save Pro Designs using ID codes. Entering a creator ID code at the kiosk will show you all of the designs created by that player. Entering a Design ID code at the kiosk will take you directly to a specific custom design.
There are so, so, many great designs being created by players, some of which you can find here, here and here. But guess what? Here are even more fan-made custom designs in Animal Crossing New Horizons! ?

Trading has always been an important part of the Animal Crossing franchise. From Animal Crossing Community, to The Bell Tree Forums, to social media groups and Messenger group chats. Nookazon, however, is a brand new website which makes all trading in Animal Crossing: New Horizons a whole lot easier.
Nookazon is a website that allows users to easily trade in-game items. You can search for any in-game item/villager on the website and see which users have this and are wanting to trade. Once you have created an account with the website, you will able be able to list items, villagers, recipes, etc that you own and wish to trade. You will also then be able to create your own wishlist whilst browsing the website’s extensive online catalogue.
For the time being, Nookazon uses Discord as a way of facilitating trades between members. If you see an item that you want, and have what the seller is looking for in return, you can send them a message on Discord (occassionally a member will prefer another form of social media or email). If you want to list an item, you will need to follow these steps.
Nookazon are working hard to implement a chat system for the website soon, which will make trading even easier again.
Nookazon have some helpful tips on how to stay safe and avoid being scammed when trading. These include:

Marina thinks she’s so cute singing the same darn song over and over in the plaza from her hideous hole for a mouth. Do you have a resident that does this and want them to pipe down? Bash them with a net.
One resident ‘being an airplane’ is bad enough, but sometimes three of my island’s residents will plot a joint Naruto run (yes, I see you what you’re really doing) in the plaza. You’re scaring the bugs! Did Blathers send you? A solution for this behaviour you ask? Again, bash them all with nets.
Um Rocket, I’m trying to pave? A solution? you could just give them a little nudge out of the way. Or, you could sentence them to six hours in jail for being a menace whilst YOU attempt to improve the island (also, for being ugly). If you don’t have jail bars, not to worry, just dig a nice few holes around them. owo
“Hmm, I know where I’m going to sit and eat my lunch on this vast, beautiful island.” said Beardo. “Right in the middle of that bridge over there that connects the entire island!” Solution? you could gently push them until they stand up, and then nudge them off the bridge. Alternatively, you could passive-aggressively remove all of the bridges and pole vault. After all, the others ‘bearly’ contributed anyway.
Yes, you, Rocket, you serial offender, you. Wondering around with a pondering expression and ‘that’ cloud above your head. I get my hopes up that you’re thinking about finally leaving and decide to talk to you! But instead you just randomly give me some dumb item I already have. Solution? Amiibo time!

Alongside Daisy-Mae, C.J. and Flick are visiting NPC’s that are new to the franchise. However, did you know that they are partners, and that there are hints that they are the offspring of Chip and Nat? Here’s everything we know about C.J. & Flick In Animal Crossing: New Horizons
C.J. is a blue-eyed freckled beaver who hosts the fishing tourneys, replacing Chip. He will also randomly visit your island in search for up-and-coming fishing talent for his social media followers.
He will buy fish from players during fishing tourneys and his random visits for 150% of their usual selling price. Although players will need to complete his ‘Seasports challenge’ before he will offer to buy their fish during his random visits. These challenges entail catching three fish within the same size range in a row.
If players catch three of the same fish, C.J. can get his ‘partner’ (Flick) to create a model of it for you free of charge. You will receive the model in the mail the next day.
Flick is a slightly intense red chameleon who is a major bug enthusiast.
He hosts the Bug Off events, replacing the green chameleon, Nat. Like C. J., Flick will also visit your island randomly from time to time to collect bug specimens. He will pay 150% of the usual selling price of bugs during both random visits and the Bug Off events.
As an artist, Flick will take commissions from players if they bring him three of the same bugs. He will then mail a model of that particular bug to the player, which will be received the next day. Flick will only take one commission at a time.
It’s heavily implied that C.J. and Flick are the offspring of Chip and Nat respectively. C.J. more so, as his name could suggest he is called ‘Chip junior’, and he also uses the phrase ‘nyuk nyuk’, like Chip would. He also highly resembles Chip and they are both beavers. In the Japanese and Localized versions of the game, their dialogue tells us that they are partners, with Flick taking commisions and creating models of bugs, and also of fish, via C.J.
The Japanese dialogue gives players a little more insight into the history of the two new NPC’s. C.J. will mention that Flick doesn’t get along with his family, especially his father. This is because whilst they both love bugs, Flick’s father likes to eat them. This, alongside C.J. mentioning that him and Flick’s families have known each other for a long time, could imply that Nat is Flick’s father.

As if Terraria didn’t already have infinite playability, the fourth and final update for the game is bringing so much more new stuff, it’s practically like getting an all new game for free!
What exactly is coming in in version 1.4, Journey’s End? All of the details are yet to be released, but the official blog from the games developer, Re-Logic, outlines much of what we can expect to see on May 16th, when the update drops.
Journey’s End releases on the ninth anniversary of the release of the original game, and is possibly one of the biggest updates yet. Outlined in last years E3, the update is said to be bringing over 800 new items, enemies, challenges and a full revamp of world generation including new biomes.
Not only that, it seems that a master mode will be added to the game, for those that have spent extensive hours on the game over the years, and wish to test their might. This will be easier to do with the added bestiary, giving extra knowledge of weaknesses and loot drops, but I would expect an epic challenge none the less.
Golf will also be coming to Terraria, which makes sense given that the games shooting mechanics sorta resemble all the 2D mobile style golf games out there.
For more information on Terraria and the update, you can visit the official Terraria website. To stay up to date with everything going on with the game, be sure to follow the developers on Twitter!
Terraria is currently on sale in the Nintendo eShop for $20.99, down from $29.99.
