Nintendo announced today the list of playable games at E3 this year. The big N revealed that some of their most anticipated games of 2019 can be played, tested and hopefully enjoyed at this years gaming convention. The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield are amongst those titles.

Nintendo is teasing its E3 plans for some time now. The company revealed the schedule as well as the games we will get to see. It looks like the gaming company has plenty of surprises for us in store! Games to be released in 2019 are the titles Nintendo will talk about in their E3 Nintendo Direct on June 11th. Of course, many fans expect to see Animal Crossing Switch as this is one of the many titles to be released in 2019.

If you happen to be in Los Angeles during the time of June 11 – June 13th, then you may want to stop at Nintendos booth to enjoy some of the following games:

    • Pokemon Sword
    • Pokemon Shield
    • The Legend of Zelda Links Awakening
    • Luigios Mansion 3
    • Marvel – Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order
    • … and more!
    Nintendo E3

Some rumors suggested that “… and more” could refer to the highly anticipated Animal Crossing Switch game. While the Animal Crossing franchise has seen debuts at the E3 ( and we also strongly believe to see the title there – you can caught up on why we believe this right here ), we do not expect any possible Animal Crossing Switch game to be playable at E3 as the game does not demo as well as other games where many tasks can be completed within a short time frame. Who wants to spend only 10 minutes playing a mainline Animal Crossing game after all?

Pokemon Sword and Shield is an adventure game to become a Pokemon Champion. New grasslands and many other new locations are filled with trainers and Pokemon working together. You will need to fight in special gyms throughout the new region that will allow your Pokemon to Dynamax. Battles with two Dynamax Pokemon will cause the energy and excitement in the stadium to reach its peak with the audience. See below for everything you need to know about the Pokemon Direct hosted by Nintendo today.

    New Pokemon

Wooloo: is defined by its fluffy fair that is traded by weavers in a town in the Gallow region. They use it to graft popular specialty goods.

Gossifleur: a Flowering Pokemon that favors places with clean air and water. Its pollen is said to have healing properties. When Gossifleur evolves, it becomes Eldegoss. There are now small seeds scattered around its fuzzy head. These seeds are said to promote growth in plants and can revitalize both people and Pokemon.

Drednaw: the Bite Pokemon. The sharp and jagged edges of its jaw allow it to bite off chunks of rock and iron. Its vicious nature makes it a difficult Pokemon to tame for all but the most experienced of trainers.

Corviknight: can be seen flying steadily through the sky. It puts its skills to use when working as a flying taxi. It will take the player back to any town they have previously visited.

The Legendary Pokemon: they are Zacian and Zamazenta but you will have to wait to find out what role they play in the game.

    New Region

In the Galar Region, a place to go for many wild Pokemon is in the Wild Area. This Wild Area stretches between cities and is filled with abundant nature as far as the eye can see. Different Pokemon can appear depending on where you are and what the weather is like. Meaning, there will be new discoveries for you each day.

    Dynamaxing

Some Pokemon can now grow in size and gain tremendous strength. This new feature will offer more strategy options in battle. All the moves they know turn more powerful. Dynamaxing can only be used once per battle. However, the Pokemon will revert to normal after three turns. Therefore, you need to choose wisely when to trigger it.

    Max Raid Battles

Four Pokemon trainers can join together in a multiplayer battle (using local wireless or online) to challenge wild Dynamax Pokemon. In these battles, the wild Dynamax Pokemon keeps its form during the entire battle and has special powers that make it an extremely formidable opponent. Only one of the four players can Dynamax their Pokemon in these battles so coordinating with your team is crucial. If your team emerges victorious, you get the chance to catch these Dynmax Pokemon! The different types of Pokemon you can fight in battle will also vary depending on where you are and the state of the weather.

    New Characters

Leon: current champion of the Galar Region and holds an undefeated record. His shining personality also gains him popularity and the adoration of trainers across the region. The champion’s younger brother is actually one of your rivals.

Hop: dreams of one day becoming champion just like his elder brother Leon. He trains vigorously every day toward this goal. His journey in the Galar region will begin on the same day as yours.

Professor Magnolia: a researcher that specializes in the Dynamax phenomenon.

Sonia: Is magnolia’s granddaughter and also serves as her assistant. Their wisdom and sound advice will come in handy during your adventure.

Milo: is a Grass-type expert. This gym leader is all about enjoying battles with his trusty Pokemon. You will have to fight him and his tenacious fighting style to continue your journey.

With all the spin-offs and far-reaching various installments, it is pretty safe to say that there is a place in every gamers heart for Pokemon, regardless of genre preference. With the onset of the popularity of mobile games, of course Pokemon is there at the forefront with such awesome titles as Pokemon Go and Pokemon Rumble Rush. The latest installment, Pokemon Masters, appears to be returning to the roots of the franchise, with some cool looking turn-based battles.

About the Pokemon Masters Reveal Trailer.

The reveal did not contain too much information, unfortunately. Luckily, the developers did promise that there would be more details coming as soon as next month! Pokemon Masters will have a heavy focus on all the gym leaders and other Pokemon trainers from many of the previous titles in the series. We will also see many of our favorite Pokemon, from adorable little Pikachu to the ever impressive Onix. Only battle and dialogue sequences have been shown so far, which may indicate that this will not be a free roam game. However, that is just speculation based on the reveal trailer found below.

You will also see in the trailer that much time and care was put into the design and art of the game, so we are super excited to see all our favorite Pokemon in a new way, and on the go! The new Pokemon mobile game, Pokemon Rumble Rush, has been released in Australia!

Time to lace up those digital shoes and start a new Pokemon journey, if you live in Australia. Visit distant islands, catch rare Pokemon and battle to be the best in whole new mobile adventure. Pokemon enthusiasts are always overly eager anytime a new installment hits the series (speaking from experience), and here’s hoping that this debut, Pokemon Rumble Rush, lives up to the rest. When it arrives, this game is free to download, and we will certainly be doing so asap!

    Pokemon Rumble Rush

A little history of Pokemon Rumble.

Although Pokemon Rumble Rush is currently only available in Australia, the rest of us will get to ahold of it soon enough. From what it sounds like, Rumble Rush is basically another sequel (or spinoff, cuz mobile) to the Pokemon Rumble series. The original, Pokemon Rumble, is a title that was released in 2009 for the Nintendo Wii. They made three sequels for the next generations of Nintendo consoles, and each title followed the classic “beat ’em up” themed play style.

    Pokemon Rumble Rush

    About Pokemon Rumble Rush

This new mobile title will continue to follow the same path as the previous games, but now we get to enjoy it on our cell phones. In Rumble Rush, you must battle Pokemon in order to have them follow you. The more Pokemon you collect of the same species, the stronger your Pokemon will become! There are special items to find, and also to purchase with in-game and real-world currency. One of these special items is Gears, which are used to power up your Pokemon, as well as summon more Pokemon into battle for you.

Get a ten dollar credit when you pre-order Pokemon/Shield on Amazon.

Not too long ago, Amazon had a wonderful feature that gave individuals with a Prime account twenty percent off any game pre-ordered through their site. For those of us who like to ensure our copies of titles before they even release, this was a pretty sweet feature! Unfortunately, Amazon decided to remove this benefit on August 28th of last year. However, it appears that the company will now give a $10 store credit for the pre-order of certain games, as they have just done with Pokemon Sword/Shield!

Eevee x Tamagotchi is a Japan exclusive that we really hope comes west!

The crew at Pokemon has finally teamed up with the original creators of Tamagotchi, and made it so that (almost) everyone can have their very own Eevee to raise and love, with Eevee x Tamagotchi. It is tough to embody that feeling you would get as a real Pokemon trainer, but Tamagotchi has brought the world much by way of virtual pet ownership. This collaboration will mean wonders for those who have always dreamed of having their very own Pokemon to raise!

    What is Tamagotchi?

For those unfamiliar with Tamagotchi, they are the company that revolutionized being a pet owner by making it simple, and digital. A Tamagotchi is a key-chain sized console that allows for the raising of one virtual pet. You interact with the specific creature as you would a real pet, i.e. feeding, cleaning up after and playing games to keep them entertained. Also, you must do all of this on a regular basis, as it is possible for your creature to perish (or in this case, return to egg form).

    Eevee x Tamagotchi

With Eevee x Tamagotchi, you will now be able to have all of this merriment in the form of an Eevee. Given that the evolution system has always been a bit random for Tamagotchi, one new feature would be the guided evolution. As many already know, Eevee has many different paths that it can take as far as evolution is concerned. In this game, you will be able to guide the Eevee to the specific evolution you want through the mini games that are offered for interacting with your Eevee.

    No western release…yet!

All of that being said, even the excitement that we feel over this awesome gadget doesn’t change the fact that it is currently very difficult to get your hands on, and only comes in the Japanese version. However, we here at myPotatoGames intend to keep a close eye on this, and will be sure to update as soon as there is word of a western release. Although they are currently sold out, this item is offered by Play-Asia, so keep checking in with them if you are interested in a Japanese version.

The April dev. log for Ooblets reveals new features and improvements!

The recently updated dev log for Ooblets let us in on some in-depth details in regards to the progress of this eagerly awaited title! The dynamic duo of a dev team has been hard at work to make sure the game is as streamlined as possible before the still unknown release date. This adorable title has already gained quite the following, mostly for it’s uber-cute art style and ingenious minion system (the Ooblets).

In case you haven’t heard, Ooblets is an extremely adorable farming SIM/creature collection game in the style of such classics as Animal Crossing and Pokemon. Only in this game, you don’t need to necessarily catch your creatures, instead, you grow them in your awesome garden! Your little friends will help you do many things as you explore the expansive lands before you.

    The juicy deets….

The updated dev log for last month mentions a few choice improvements! First and foremost, as usual, bug fixes! All those nasty little critters are being sought out and corrected as we speak! There has also been the addition of a heads-up display (HUD) to make for easier access to your quests and tasks.

Also, a new special homebaby grow system makes it so that the Ooblets you leave on your farm will help them grow faster, depending on the attributes of the individual Oobs. This adorable feature is implemented through dance. Watch your Ooblets groove for the betterment of your ecosystem!

In this update, you can now keep much better track of your cutesy creatures with the addition of an almanac. This will simplify the process of knowing which ones you have, and which ones you still need to grow! These are just the key features of the update (from our perspective), for the full details on what’s new and what’s to come, hop on over to the dev log! For more information about this charming title, check out everything myPotatoGames has to say about Ooblets.
