Wands are cool items exclusive to Animal Crossing: New Horizons. They allow players to instantly change into pre-assembled outfits with, well, the swish of a wand. The Star Wand recipe is the wand recipe that players are most likely to first obtain. All wands require star fragments to craft them. In order to learn more about obtaining the Star Wand recipe and obtaining star fragments, check out this article here. However, the Star Wand isn’t the only wand players can get their hands on. There are a whole bunch of cute and cool wands in the game waiting to be discovered. And so, here’s how to get all wands in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. šŸŒŸ

    Star Wand

Celeste will give you the recipe for this wand the very first time you meet her. It requires 3x star fragments and 1x large star fragment to craft.

    Bamboo Wand

The Bamboo Wand recipe can be found during spring either in a message in a bottle, or in a balloon present. Alternatively, players acquire it as a gift from another resident. It will require 3x star fragments and 6x young spring bamboo pieces to craft. You can sometimes find a bamboo island and collect bamboo resources from it when using a Nook Miles Ticket to go on a mystery tour.

    Cherry-Blossom Wand

Again, the Cherry-Blossom Wand recipe is exclusive to spring. Or rather, cherry blossom season during spring to be more precise. Like the Bamboo Wand, the recipe can be found either in a message in a bottle, or in a balloon present. Or alternatively, as a gift from another resident. You will need 3x star fragments and 3x cherry blossom petals to craft it.

    Bunny Day Wand

The Bunny Day Wand recipe can be acquired from Zipper on Bunny Day once you have crafted all of the bunny day items. For more on this, click here. The recipe necessitates 3x star fragments and a nice and 1x creepy Wobbling Zipper Toy to craft.

    Wand

This simply named ‘Wand’ looks like it came straight out of a Harry Potter film. So for all you Potterheads, this one is a must have.

The Wand recipe can be given to players randomly by talking to Celeste when she visits. It requires 2x star fragments to craft.

Top Tip: Combine it with a graduation gown, round specs, black trousers and shoes, and you’re a wizard Harry!

    Tree-Branch Wand

The Tree Branch Wand recipe can be given to players randomly by talking to Celeste when she visits. It requires 3x star fragments and 5x tree branches to craft.

    Mums Wand

The Mums Wand recipe can be given to players randomly by talking to Celeste when she visits. It requires 3x star fragments and 1x yellow mum flower to craft.

    Cosmos Wand

The Cosmos Wand recipe can be given to players randomly by talking to Celeste when she visits. It requires 3x star fragments and 1x white cosmos to craft.

    Lily Wand

The Lily Wand recipe can be given to players randomly by talking to Celeste when she visits. It requires 3x star fragments and 1x white lily to craft.

    Hyacinth Wand

The Hyacinth Wand recipe can be given to players randomly by talking to Celeste when she visits. It requires 3x star fragments and 1x pink hyacinth to craft.

    Rose Wand

The Rose Wand recipe can be given to players randomly by talking to Celeste when she visits. It requires 3x star fragments and 1x red rose to craft.

    Pansy Wand

The Pansy Wand recipe can be given to players randomly by talking to Celeste when she visits. It requires 3x star fragments and 1x yellow pansy to craft.

    Tulip Wand

The Tulip Wand recipe can be given to players randomly by talking to Celeste when she visits. It requires 3x star fragments and 1x red tulip to craft.

    Windflower Wand

The Windflower Wand recipe can be given to players randomly by talking to Celeste when she visits. It requires 3x star fragments and 1x orange windflower to craft.

    Mushroom Wand

The Mushroom Wand recipe can only be found during fall. Like the Bamboo Wand, the recipe can be found either in a message in a bottle, or in a balloon present. Or alternatively, can be received as a gift from another resident. You will need 3x star fragments and 3x thin mushrooms to craft it.

As the Mushroom Wand looks uh, rather questionable, I personally prefer mine customized to the red and white version šŸ™‚

    Shell Wand

The Shell Wand recipe can be given to players randomly by talking to Celeste when she visits. It requires 3x star fragments and 3x summer shells to craft.

    Ice Wand

The recipe for the Ice Wand can be obtained from Snowboy during winter. The crafting materials needed include 3x star fragments and 1x large snowflake.

    Golden Wand

The Golden Wand recipe can be given to players randomly by talking to Celeste when she visits. It requires 3x star fragments and 2x gold nuggets to craft.

    Iron Wand

The Iron Wand recipe (which literally looks like a metal pipe) can be given to players randomly by talking to Celeste when she visits. It requires 3x star fragments and 3x iron nuggets to craft.

    Fish Wand

Players can receive a Fish Wand from C.J. during the Fishing Tourney. This wand is a physical item however, and not a recipe. It therefore doesn’t have a DIY and can’t be crafted.

    Bug Wand

Like the Fish Wand, the Bug Wand is also a physical item and not a recipe. Players can receive the Bug Wand from Flick during the Bug-Off event.

    Wedding Wand

The Wedding Wand recipe can be gifted from Cyrus during the Wedding Season event in June. If you help Reese and Cyrus take wedding anniversary photos at Photopia, you will be rewarded with wedding-themed items. The recipe for the wand requires 3x star fragments and 1x Wedding Flower StandĀ to craft.

Nintendo of America recently tweeted a fun little activity for New Horizons players to take part in. The tweet consisted of a cute little bingo card filled with various activities that players can check off as they complete. If like me, you have a New Horizons journal tracker, this is the perfect little printable to add to it. Also, if like me, you experience satisfaction from ticking off things and making To-Do lists, here’s a fun way to track your Animal Crossing: New Horizons progress with a bingo card.

The bingo card (shown below) features achievements such as ‘crafting at least 30 items’, and ‘going on a mystery tour’. Whilst a lot of us have probably done many, if not all of these by now, I admittedly can’t tick them all off. I haven’t actually bought or sold any turnips yet, nor have I made any fish bait… ?

(Also, having made an awesome custom design is a debatable one for me…) ?

Let us know if you’ve accomplished everything listed on the card and can scream say bingo! Unfortunately, Nintendo of America are being meanies and not giving out prizes. Therefore, have this (virtual) gold star from us ?, and give yourself a (literal) pat on the back.

There’s a chance that a lot of seriously cool features could be headed to New Horizons in the future. In a recent interview with CNET, Animal Crossing: New Horizons director, Aya Kyogoku, announced that the game would recieve updates for years to come. Whilst we don’t know the exact features we may have to look forward to, dataminers have some theories. One of these features, suggested by dataminer Ninja, is the return of the Dream Suite in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

    What Is The Dream Suite?

The Dream Suite was a feature first introduced to the Animal Crossing franchise in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. Run by a Tapir named Luna, the Dream Suite allowed you to visit and wander around other playersā€™ towns. You could either let Luna choose a random town for you to visit, or input a specific town’s Dream Address. Although you couldnā€™t access the shops in other towns, or bring back items, you could do pretty much anything else. If the mayor of a Dream Town had created their own custom designs and allowed others to access them, then you would be able to encounter walrus NPC Wendell during a dream in order to obtain them.

The Dream Suite was a nice addition to New Leaf in that it allowed players to share their towns with others, without the fear of vandalism. This is because any ā€˜townā€™ you visit is just an uploaded representation of that particular town. Hence the ‘Dream’ theme.

Could It Return In New Horizons & And What Evidence Is There To Suggest This? (Possible spoiler alert)

Dataminer Ninji thinks that the Dream Suite could well make a return to Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and explains why below. However, like she herself emphasises, the feature hasn’t been confirmed, and her findings shouldn’t be taken as conclusive proof.

Whether the Dream Suite will return, what it would look like, and how it would work are still unconfirmed. On the other hand, Ninji was spot on in predicting the return of Leif and Redd, and the Museum’s art gallery expansion. So fingers crossed!

But please people, if it happens, NO ANIME AIKA. Hypno K.K. still gives me nightmares. ??

Something new makes me laugh every day in regards to New Horizons. Whether it’s quirky villagers, humourous dialogue, relatable memes, or odd in-game occurences, I can often be found cackling to myself. And as sharing is caring, here are some of my favourite funny moments and memes from Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Watering the same flower for like the fifth time, just to be sure.

Katt using a crafting bench to craft a crafting bench and gave me the recipe. Now I can craft yet another crafting bench and can go to my pre-existing crafting bench to go craft that crafting bench. Thanks I hate it.

I did not sign up for this.

The recent Animal Crossing: New Horizons update contains some exciting features. One of which, is the ability to expand your museum and have an art gallery section! Another feature is the return of special NPC Redd, who is an untrustworthy Kitsune, or fox. Redd is essential in order to add an art gallery wing to your museum. Here’s how to unlock the museum’s art gallery and Jolly Redd’s Treasure Trawler In Animal Crossing: New Horizons. And some tips on how to spot fake artwork too…

    About Redd

Redd has been around since the very conception of the franchise, appearing in Animal Forest (Dōbutsu no Mori) back in 2001. Since then, he has appeared in every single mainline and non-mainline game in the franchise. Redd is notorious for selling counterfeit and overpriced items, deceiving players, and having a passive-aggressive attitude. Therefore, his return in New Horizons may be controversial. But love him or hate him, he’s back, essential for the museum expansion, and is just as sketchy as ever.

How To Unlock The Museum Expansion

    • You’ll firstly need to make sure you’ve downloaded the 23rd April update, and are now on version 1.2.0.
    • After the update, head to the museum and speak with Blathers. He should inform you that he’s contemplating adding an art gallery to the museum. However, you’ll need to bring him a piece of art in order to initiate this expansion.
    • If he doesn’t mention anything about an expansion, an issue I was puzzled by, you likely have not yet donated enough specimens to the museum. (Theories suggest that 30 fossils, fish, or bugs need to have been donated, but this is unconfirmed).
    • Try making a few more donations and speak to Blathers again. This resolved the issue for me.
    • As mentioned, the next step to unlocking the art gallery is locating a piece of art to donate. If you’re wondering where you’re meant to find some art, be patient.

Redd’s Part In Unlocking The Museum’s Art Gallery

    • The following day, Isabelle does a heccin concern will worriedly announce that a suspicious character has been spotted roaming the island. This will be Redd. She will warn you of his dodgy dealings, but reassures residents he hasn’t been known to harm others.
    • Next, you will need to find the fiendish fox. Once you have, you will be able to purchase a random piece of artwork from him.
    • He will initially try and sell it to you for an extorionate price, but both of your dialogue options will make him lower the price.
    • As smooth-talking as ever, he explains that he’ll lower the price as you’re basically family. (I hope not…)
    • It has been assumed that the first piece of artwork you buy from him will always be genuine (mine was). Once you have obtained a piece of art, take it to Blathers at the museum.
    • This will then allow you to expand the museum and have an added art gallery section.
    • The museum will be closed the next day for renovations. The day after that, it will be completed and ready to explore. Like with the completion of most projects in the game, you will be able to host a ceremony, celebrating the museum’s expansion. All of your islanders will be in attendance. Although the attentiveness of certain characters is another question…
After asking Blathers to say a FEW words, Tom Nook falls asleep! Apologize to the waffling, nocturnal, entomophobiac owl immediately you absolute meanie! ?
    • The art gallery section of the expanded museum can be seen below.

    About ‘Jolly Redd’s Treasure Trawler’

    • After the renovations to expand the museum are complete, Redd will again visit your island.
    • Redd will possibly have hinted to you in his previous visit that he’s recently obtained a trawler. (you can almost see the dodgy dealing cogs whirring in his brain).
    • Sure enough, if you locate him a second time on your island (after the museum has been expanded), he will divulge his intentions.
    • He will invite you to his trawler, which is located on the secret beach to the north of your island. Here, you will be able to buy furniture and fake and genuine artwork.
    • Whilst the Jolly Redd’s Treasure Trawler is most definitely sketchy, you should go ahead and visit after the invitation anyway.
    • Upon entering, he will explain that you can buy as much of the furniture he has on offer as you like. However, you will only be able to buy one piece of artwork from him each time he visits.
    • He will visit randomly like other merchants such as Kicks and Leif, but will always be docked at the secret beach.
    • The music that plays in his trawler and the flag logo on his ship are reminiscent from my Wild World gameplay. His trawler is also very dimly lit. So the sketchy vibe is as pertinent as ever, and will be uneasily nostalgic for many players.

    How To Spot Fake Art

    • Just like in previous games, Redd will sell fake art as well as genuine pieces.
    • Blathers will not accept fake art, and forged pieces won’t sell for much at Nook’s Cranny either. Therefore be sure that you are buying genuine art when visiting his ‘Jolly Redd’s Treasure Trawler’.
    • A handy feature when browsing the art Redd has on offer is the ability to zoom in on the piece. This works much like the camera app on your NookPhone.
(This one is a fake. There are a couple of people missing from the middle left part of the painting)
    • If you’re like me, and have no clue on how to spot fakes, then you’re in luck. A Reddit guide has already been compiled to help people distinguish between fake art and genuine art.
    Anger at uncovering a fake
    • This Reddit guide will show you the subtle differences between fake and genuine artwork. And with the nifty zoom option, you can be sure to always buy solely legit pieces of art from your so-called ‘cuz’.
    • Some pieces of art, such as the Perfect Painting and Warm Painting will always be legitimate. The aforementioned ‘Redd’-it guide also handily informs you of the names of the artwork that will never be forgeries.

    I’ll let myself out.

Leif is a sloth special NPC with a passion for gardening. First introduced to the franchise in New Leaf, the latest update sees the return of the happy chappy. With Nature Day Nook Miles+ rewards introduced and the return of the smiley sloth, New Horizons has suddenly become more exciting. Here’s everything currently known about Nature Day & Leif in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

    Who Is Leif?

First appearing as the owner of the Garden Center in New Leaf, Leif’s name is therefore a pun. In New Leaf, Leif would sell flowers, saplings, fertilizer and gardening tools. Additionally, Leif offered a weed-pulling service, and also hosted Weeding Day. By participating in Weeding Day, players could receive furniture items from the flower set.

Leif made a reappearance in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp where he hosted the ‘Leif’s Spring Flowers Event’. The creatures of the event are ladybugs, and the flowers are called ‘ Sleeping Beauties’ and ‘White Clovers’.

What Is His Role In New Horizons?

After updating your game, Leif will appear from time to time in the Plaza. Like Kicks, he is a travelling merchant and has his own stall (‘Leif’s Garden Shop’). Whilst visiting, he will sell flower seeds that you may have been struggling to obtain. Even more excitingly, he will offer a selection of shrubs for players to buy. Additionally, when visiting, he will buy weeds from you for double the amount Timmy and Tommy do.

What To Do If He Doesn’t Show Up?

If you’re not seeing Leif, it’s likely that you have not yet downloaded the 23/4 update. You can check whether your game is up to date by selecting the game’s icon on your home menu, and pressing the + button. You will then be informed whether a software update is available, and will be given the option to select this (providing you have an internet connection).

About Nature Day In New Horizons

Nature Day begins as soon as you complete the update on the 23/4 in New Horizons. To celebrate this, Tom Nook will inform you of a special promotion for Nook Miles+ members for a limited time. The promotion will last from 23rd April – 4th May. For participating in limited-time Nature Day activities, such as planting shrub starts, you will receive Nook Miles. You’ll receive five times the amount of Nook Miles for completing a Nature Day Nook Miles+ task as opposed to an ordinary one. Therefore instead of receiving 200 Nook Miles, you will receive 1,000 Nook Miles for completing the nature-based tasks.
