[dropcap]S[/dropcap]quare Enix has announced a new RPG called Lost Sphear. Lost Sphear is a new RPG from the minds at Tokyo RPG Factory (creators of I am Setsuna). The game is scheduled to release in 2018 on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Steam.

The adventure of Lost Sphear begins in a remote town where a young boy, Kanata, awakens from a devastating dream to find his hometown disappearing. To stop the world from being lost forever, Kanata and his comrades set out to rebuild the world around them with the power of Memory by manifesting thoughts into matter.

As an ominous power threatens the fabric of reality, a young man chosen by destiny must arise to face a phenomenon never seen before. Awaken the power of Memory to restore the Lost and rebuild the world!

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]his past week, The Pokemon Company released a game revolving solely around a Pokemon that most people consider pathetic (hint: it’s MagiKarp). The game is called MagiKarp Jump. It is available on IOS and Android devices.

The premise of the game is similar to many Pokemon games. You train, battle, and have random encounters. However, MagiKarp jump provides a fresh twist into the beloved formula.

GamePlay Details

-You train your MagiKarp’s JP (Jump Power) and do this with various methods that you can unlock as you progress further in the game. Some of the methods include hitting a punching bag, pushing a Dwebble, and blowing up a balloon.

-You battle other trainers in the game by competing to see who’s MagiKarp jumps highest. The first league you encounter is the Friend League.

-Throughout playing the game, you will trigger various “random encounters”. With some of these encounters, you get a choice and each choice has consequences. Other times, you get a special boost such as coins or extra training points.

-You can customize the pond that your MagiKarp lives in with various decorations and friendship items. Friendship items allow you to have pokemon such as Pikachu and Litten visit your pond and give boosts to your MagiKarp.

-You can fish for different MagiKarp patterns that you unlock as you proceed in the game by beating leagues and ranking up your trainer.

[dropcap]S[/dropcap]quare Enix has decided to make some changes regarding the development of Final Fantasy VII Remake. Square had decided to shift the development from third party developer CyberConnect2 to in-house at Square Enix.

Noaki Hamaguchi, programmer on Lightening Returns, and Project Lead for Mobius Final Fantasy, will now be leading the Remake. As of this past week, Hamaguchi has been actively seeking effects designers, a programmer, and battle and level planners to help work on the project. Development was originally focused on external help with CyberConnect2 being a partner but now Square has more of an internal focus on the game. Hamaguchi revealed during a livestream of Mobius that  “The Company has decided to shift to an internal setup, including mass production and quality, because we want to control everything, including quality, on a stable schedule.”

It is also important to note that Hamaguchi is not leaving the team of Mobius Final Fantasy which is good for fans of the mobile game.

The Remake is currently in development as a Playstation 4 exclusive.

[dropcap]G[/dropcap]olf Story is an interesting take on an RPG. It is a pixel based RPG that revolves around the sport of Golf. It is from a new developer called SideBar Games. It is due to release in summer of this year.

Game Summery

Play the story of a golfer, forced to give up all that he holds dear for one final shot at accomplishing his dream. But all is not so simple in the world of golf. To best today’s players you have to be able to keep up with them not just on the course, but also outside of it.

Here are some things you can do in the game:

– Tee up anywhere! You’ll be surprised by how many problems can be solved by hitting a golf ball at them.
– Explore 8 unique environments, each with their own courses, towns, people and secrets.
– Play through a dramatic story with a diverse cast of characters.
– Upgrade your golfer by completing challenges, solving puzzles and buying new equipment.
– Round out your skill set with long driver tournaments, disc golf, mini golf and wee links. Then go beyond golf with extra challenges like races, mowing, drone flights and geocaching

[dropcap]M[/dropcap]y Nintendo adds several Pikman Themed rewards in North America ahead of the Hey! Pikman release. The game will be releasing on July 28th, 2017.

There is a 3DS theme, discounts, and DLC & a Guide for Pikman 3 on Wii U.

[dropcap]N[/dropcap]intendo E3 2017 is set for June 13th and the timing is expected to be at least 30 minutes. With the video presentation, we are expected to be given a look at Super Mario Odyssey and other upcoming titles for the Switch.

You have the ability to set a reminder for the event straight from Nintendo’s site here. By default Nintendo sets aside an hour. However, this does not necessarily mean that the presentation will be an hour. Most calendars only have 30 minutes increments.

To put it into perspective, E3 2014 was about 47 minutes and E3 2015 was about 48 minutes. Here is a prediction and list of what Nintendo will need to show at this years E3 to surprise it’s fans.
