[dropcap]T[/dropcap]his past week, The Pokemon Company released a game revolving solely around a Pokemon that most people consider pathetic (hint: it’s MagiKarp). The game is called MagiKarp Jump. It is available on IOS and Android devices.

The premise of the game is similar to many Pokemon games. You train, battle, and have random encounters. However, MagiKarp jump provides a fresh twist into the beloved formula.

GamePlay Details

-You train your MagiKarp’s JP (Jump Power) and do this with various methods that you can unlock as you progress further in the game. Some of the methods include hitting a punching bag, pushing a Dwebble, and blowing up a balloon.

  

-You battle other trainers in the game by competing to see who’s MagiKarp jumps highest. The first league you encounter is the Friend League.

-Throughout playing the game, you will trigger various “random encounters”. With some of these encounters, you get a choice and each choice has consequences. Other times, you get a special boost such as coins or extra training points.

-You can customize the pond that your MagiKarp lives in with various decorations and friendship items. Friendship items allow you to have pokemon such as Pikachu and Litten visit your pond and give boosts to your MagiKarp.

-You can fish for different MagiKarp patterns that you unlock as you proceed in the game by beating leagues and ranking up your trainer.
