Halloween is one of my favorite seasons of the year, pretty much as much as any other season that lets me put up festive decorations. Nintendo kicked off the Animal Crossing Pocket Camp Halloween season with some adorable costumes.

The latest addition to Pocket Camp includes some super – not so spooky – Halloween costumes that you can grab from the shop now. Nintendo also recently invited Jack back in order to host the current garden event! If you haven’t stopped by to say Hi yet, make sure to load up Animal Crossing Pocket Camp and get your campsite looking spooky in anticipation of this years Halloween season!

If you haven’t heard yet, Nintendo also recently gifted 250 leaf tickets to all players as an apology for the recent changes Gulliver – the perfect amount to spend on some Halloween costumes and decor!

The latest Nintendo Direct was set to feature game releases in 2019, yet Nintendo didn’t shy away to surprise fans with some more information about the Animal Crossing New Horizons Multiplayer mode and more.

In the nearly 5 minutes of new gameplay we received, we learned that Animal Crossing New Horizons Multiplayer mode will allow 8 players to come together online hang out in a town and enjoy many activities together. Planting trees, fishing, exploring and more are all part of the fun. The big N also promised that only a little bit of the games feature have been revealed and that we can look forward to many other surprises and game features we didn’t know would make it into the game.

If you want to play with your friends and share a single console you can do that as well! If you own a Nintendo Switch and a single copy of Animal Crossing New Horizons you will be able to play with up to 4 friends using only one console and one copy of the game. However, you may need an extra pair of Joy-Cons. Nintendo also did not clarify if the game will support split screen, or if all players have to stay close together with player 1 – the owner of the town – leading the way.

Fun with friends in Animal Crossing New Horizons

In New Horizons local multiplayer mode, players will be able to provide a home to friends for the very first time. While it was possible do so in New Leaf, it was restricted to only one player at any given time. This time around players can play at the same time, on the same system and both have their own home placed on the same island.

Animal Crossing New Horizons is betting big on multiplayer, something that has made New Leaf so enjoyable for many years after its release. Trading with players from all over the world and exploring other towns breaths news life into the game even 7 years after its initial release.

We are truly excited to be sharing our island and goodies with players from around the world. Animal Crossing New Horizons will be coming to Nintendo Switch on March 20, 2020.

If you are looking for other Animal Crossing like games, we recommend you take a look at Hokko Life a farming and village simulation game that takes place inside a cute town filled with even cuter animals.

If you haven’t already, or simply want to indulge in it again, you can watch the entire Animal Crossing New Horizons Gameplay footage from the latest Nintendo Direct right here.

Congratulations to Serbz on winning this awesome Giveaway, and a big thanks to all those that participated.

A little something to help tide-over one lucky Animal Crossing fan?

Seeing as how we were all recently given sad news in regards to the release date of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, we thought we might help ease the pain for at least one AC:NH fan. We have decided to share a few items that we have come across in our travels, you know, from buried treasures and what-not. Our loot stash has become quite expansive, and we feel that it would behoove us to relinquish these goodies upon this loving community!

    What’s this all about?

Nothing says “I live and breathe Animal Crossing” quite like exclusive and rare AC-themed collectibles. You’ll wonder how you even lived this long without a Tom Nook New Leaf Plush pillow! Such priceless gems to behold, and now they are truly within your grasp.

    Tom Nook New Leaf Pillow

As you all know by now, the best loot comes at a certain price! In most cases, that price is to complete a set of goals or tasks, with foes hindering your process along the way. This is one of those cases. However, you should not consider the other treasure hunters to be your foe, but instead a kin seeking the same gleaming horizon.

    How it’s gonna go down!

Given the amount, as well as the grandiose manner, of the items on hand, we have decided that the best way to proceed is to set everyone on a quest with some pretty easy goals. No boss battles here. Aside from simply spreading the word to all those who would hear, we do intend to hold jousts and archery competitions. Just kidding.

Instead, our competitive spirits will be evoked in a more friendly manner. For those of you that are new to myPotatoGames, you have just as much chance to reap some benefits as our die hard fans (you know who you are). All one must do is follow us on the major social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram) and earn 50 Tater Tots between August 4th and August 20th.

    WHAT’S IN STORE!

    Animal Crossing Sticker Book

We have quite a few wonderful items to share with our adoring (and adorable) fans! To kick things off, we have two Tom Nook amiibo’s! Gain access to all sorts of Tom Nook content with your own special Nook collectible amiibo.  As if that wasn’t enough, we have one Isabelle and one Digby amiibo to throw into the pot.

    Tom Nook Amiibo

We also currently possess an adorable Timmy and Tommy ceramic plate, measuring about four inches in diameter. This ones a great accent to any AC themed tea parties! Also to be given away is our 800 ct. Animal Crossing Sticker Book! Enough sticky goodness to turn all your baubles and do-dads into Animal Crossing fan art! Finally, we have a couple of Animal Crossing themed hand-towels, depicting K.K. Slider. And for the big finish, we have the most adorable Tom Nook New Leaf Plush pillow.

    Towels and Plates Animal Crossing

The winner will be selected at random and notified after the giveaway is completed. Best of luck to everyone!

Animal Crossing New Horizons might be delayed, but that doesn’t stop Nintendo from sharing some more details about the upcoming village simulator. No other than Producer Hisashi Nogami and director Aya Kyogoku sat down once again to answer some of the fans most burning questions.

In the interview Aya Kyogoku was asked about the premisses of the game. While many may already know this from the announcement trailer already, she explained that “Tom Nook has started a new business which offers a new package called Nook Inc. Deserted Island Getaway Package. The player begins the game with this package and moves to a deserted island. ”

Another fan asked the two developers about not having an established town by the time the player moves in. Some fans of the series were concerned that New Horizons would not feel like a real animal crossing game, but Aya explained that “With the Animal Crossing series, we’ve always had players moving to a new location that already existed. We wanted to give them a new experience and thought that a deserted island would be perfect.”

However she further noted that players can enjoy the “pre-life” before the town gets build, but that it would essentially turn into the familiar Animal Crossing players came to love. You can read the full interview below.

If you just can’t wait for the March 20th, 2020 release for Animal Crossing New Horizons, we recommend checking out this video that combines all Animal Crossing trailers released so far, a must watch for any fan of the series!

If you want to decorate your phone with Animal Crossing, make sure to grab our New Horizons wallpapers here.

What’s the premise of the new game?

Ms. Kyogoku: Tom Nook has started a new business which offers a new package called Nook Inc. Deserted Island Getaway Package. The player begins the game with this package and moves to a deserted island.

Why have the player start there?

K: With the Animal Crossing series, we’ve always had players moving to a new location that already existed. We wanted to give them a new experience and thought that a deserted island would be perfect.

With this theme, players can enjoy gaining a foothold on a new life and developing the island. As you progress, new residents may appear and new facilities will be built – it will eventually start to feel like the familiar Animal Crossing life. In other words, you can enjoy the phase before the place becomes a village this time.

Can you describe some of the new features?

K: There’s a system called DIY where you’re able to create items from scratch. With a deserted island, players will be starting with a blank canvas. They can collect materials from the island and then create items and furniture.

    How does multiplayer work?

K: There are two main multiplayer modes. One is similar to the legacy titles where you’re able to visit other villages or have people come to visit your village. You’re able to visit other islands or have your friends visit you locally or online. Up to eight people can play on one island.

The second mode is a completely new form of local multiplayer. For the first time in the series, up to four residents living on the same island can play together at the same time in local multiplayer on a single system by sharing Joy-Con controllers. Before, we’ve had a feature that let families or friends make their own houses and reside in the village on a single system, but they weren’t able to play simultaneously. But this time, with one system, you’re able to live and play in the same village simultaneously.

What do you personally love about the franchise and why do you think it resonates with fans?

Mr. Nogami: It’s a little hard because I feel like I’ll be praising myself… The players can play little by little each day, and eventually they end up playing a very long time. I think you start to invest emotionally into the game.

Even when you’re not playing the game, it’s always in the back of your mind. I think that you’re able to build this relationship with the game and I think that’s why a lot of fans still love Animal Crossing. You have your real life and then you have this parallel world that you’ve built in Animal Crossing.

K: With my friends and colleagues, I always keep in touch with them about turnip prices. Through playing Animal Crossing with my friends and family, I started to realize that they all have a different part that they love about the game. Another thing is that although in real life our hobbies may be different, we share an interest in Animal Crossing. When all my friends and family come together we start talking about the game and it really brings us together. I think that’s what really grabs the player and is why fans love the game.

    Who is your favorite character?

N: It’s really hard to choose one. If I have to pick one, I think it’s Tom Nook.

This is background information on Tom Nook, but he was unsuccessful earlier in his life. Because of this early failure he has this sense of sadness to him. This is something that you’re able to learn a little about in Animal Crossing: Wild World. So, although he may seem like a strict capitalist to some, you do have to notice he’ll wait forever without adding any interest to your loan. He is a man with a huge heart and somebody that you can really depend on.

K: I Love Tom Nook. Even though sometimes he upsets me, I do have to admit that because of him and his hard work, I have a pretty good life in the game.

Finally, what is your favorite bell-making tactic in the previous games?

N: My favorite way is to plant as many fruit trees as possible and create an orchard. I have a technique of planting as many trees as possible in a small amount of space. There is a design of how I plant the trees so I’m able to collect them in the fastest way possible. So, every three days I collect all the fruit and then go sell them. So, if you want to make a quick buck, there’s so many other ways to do it. But if you want stability, that’s the way to go.

K: Unlike Mr. Nogami, I heavily depend on turnips. I’m always trying to make a huge break by winning money through some sort of surge in turnip prices. I also go around and then check out all the boulders that spit out bells and other minerals. Then I’ll also go fish and catch insects, concentrating on the most expensive ones.
