A little something to help tide-over one lucky Animal Crossing fan?
Seeing as how we were all recently given sad news in regards to the release date of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, we thought we might help ease the pain for at least one AC:NH fan. We have decided to share a few items that we have come across in our travels, you know, from buried treasures and what-not. Our loot stash has become quite expansive, and we feel that it would behoove us to relinquish these goodies upon this loving community!
What’s this all about?
Nothing says “I live and breathe Animal Crossing” quite like exclusive and rare AC-themed collectibles. You’ll wonder how you even lived this long without a Tom Nook New Leaf Plush pillow! Such priceless gems to behold, and now they are truly within your grasp.
As you all know by now, the best loot comes at a certain price! In most cases, that price is to complete a set of goals or tasks, with foes hindering your process along the way. This is one of those cases. However, you should not consider the other treasure hunters to be your foe, but instead a kin seeking the same gleaming horizon.
How it’s gonna go down!
Given the amount, as well as the grandiose manner, of the items on hand, we have decided that the best way to proceed is to set everyone on a quest with some pretty easy goals. No boss battles here. Aside from simply spreading the word to all those who would hear, we do intend to hold jousts and archery competitions. Just kidding.
Instead, our competitive spirits will be evoked in a more friendly manner. For those of you that are new to myPotatoGames, you have just as much chance to reap some benefits as our die hard fans (you know who you are). All one must do is follow us on the major social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram) and earn 50 Tater Tots between August 4th and August 20th.
WHAT’S IN STORE!
We have quite a few wonderful items to share with our adoring (and adorable) fans! To kick things off, we have two Tom Nook amiibo’s! Gain access to all sorts of Tom Nook content with your own special Nook collectible amiibo. As if that wasn’t enough, we have one Isabelle and one Digby amiibo to throw into the pot.
We also currently possess an adorable Timmy and Tommy ceramic plate, measuring about four inches in diameter. This ones a great accent to any AC themed tea parties! Also to be given away is our 800 ct. Animal Crossing Sticker Book! Enough sticky goodness to turn all your baubles and do-dads into Animal Crossing fan art! Finally, we have a couple of Animal Crossing themed hand-towels, depicting K.K. Slider. And for the big finish, we have the most adorable Tom Nook New Leaf Plush pillow.

That really would be hard to resist. XC1 and XCX in particular I’d jump through hoops for merch on. I made my own cloth grocery bags with those themes, at least.

My daughter’s name Elhaym is from the original Xenogears. That game was my teenage years #1 JRPG. I love that she loves watching me play the new games. Someday she’ll play the original (when she can actually read) and get to know her namesake.

Gaming doesn’t get any higher-quality in terms of epic story-driven games than the Xeno games, imo. I hope Elhaym will enjoy playing Xenogears 🙂

I’m excited for this! But I’m wondering if we need to follow on all three of the platforms. I follow you guys on Facebook and Twitter, but I don’t have Instagram because each time I’ve made an account my account has been hacked so I don’t feel secure making another account.

During the announcement I was too excited about seeing ANYTHING about the new AC game to care about the delayed release date at all. But later, even knowing it was for the best, I DID feel disappointed, because I live in an area with HORRIBLE winters, and I had really been looking forward to having a new Animal Crossing game to relieve some of the…let’s just call it cabin fever. Having it come in March means I won’t be able to use it as therapy…though it doesn’t mean I won’t be just as crazy about it in March as I would have been in November through Feb. And we do need them to do great work on this, since it’s a game we’re meant to play for months or even years…it needs to be interesting for a very long time.

The username of everyone who followed on each platform will be added to a hat for the draw. So if you entered in three places, all three of your names will be in the draw whether they are different or the same, giving you 3 chances to get chosen. 🙂

Gosh, winning any of them would bring me pure joy! I’ve just been over in Japan and I searched hard but it was incredibly difficult to find anything Animal Crossing themed.
I did find one thing though! In a large store called ‘Kiddy Land’ in Harajuku, there’s a small availability of goods. Tom Nook/ Isabelle / Able Sisters themed small (about the size of your hand) desk stands to hold a photo or such.

I think my biggest desire for Animal Crossing merch would have been that gorgeous Animal Crossing themed 2DS…but it’s Japan-only and even if you import, the 3DS/2DS is region-locked so it would have been useless to me. I can’t read a word of Japanese, after all. It’s so pretty, though, that mint green with the embossing and the Nook leaf cut-out.
