With Mother’s Day being this weekend, we at myPotatoGames wanted to take a moment to appreciate all types of moms in IRL and in video games. Moms in games are always there to guide you even if all you get is one lousy potion. Some are overprotective but gentle like Carrie, some are strict but push you to become the best version of yourself like Joyce, and some even adopt and give you and the rest of your thousands of adorable star siblings a loving place to call home. So here’s to all moms everywhere!

Want to participate in our previous poll about unicorns? You can go and vote here.

Virtual minigolf is an excellent way to pass the time when you need a break from the grind! Putting around a whimsical course is always a sure way to relieve the stress of the day-to-day! We certainly enjoy all the interesting twists and turns that are featured in this wonderful game!

    A bit about Infinite Minigolf…

Like most “eSports” titles, you begin the game in character creation. As per the usual, most things are unlocked through gameplay. Often-times this can be a bit tedious, but with the simplicity of play-style, and initially basic design of the courses, you will find yourself decked out in decent threads in no time!

    Infinite Minigolf_20170801190603

Win a few beginner tournaments and you already start accumulating charming animal tees, as well as unlock cards for lots of cute cosmetics adorable accessories. Basically everything about the game is customizable, making it a personal experience while still being super chill.

    Lots of Customization!

Not only does this title have online capability, but you can even create your own minigolf courses to challenge your friends. There all sorts of different items and obstacles to add to your course, from lackadaisical pirates to timid Yetis! There are also power-ups, such as rocket boosts and spring pads, to help make each course just that much more difficult or confusing.

The different traps and power-ups can also just seem daunting, with the course still easily completed in one shot! There are literally endless combinations and alterations to make your own course a reflection of your own inner confusion and turmoil (or solidity and peace)!

    Join Us!

If all this minigolf madness sounds like fun to you, then join us in playing! We have six total copies of this title to share (3 for Nintendo Switch and 3 Steam codes) with our fans, and would love to see what you’ve got when it comes to course creation, or maybe just some competitive comradery.

For a chance to claim a code for yourself, simply comment on this post that you would like to join, and earn 25 Tater-tots (learn everything you need to know about tater-tots by clicking here) between now and Monday, the 13th of May. Good Luck to all, and we can’t wait to see you on the courses!!

If you aren’t a big fan of leaving things up to chance, you may purchase your very own copy of Infinite Minigolf for Nintendo Switch by clicking here, or on Steam by clicking here!

Our Earth Day list of beautiful games with enamoring environments.

myPotatoGames finds a certain importance in respecting the holidays, especially one that celebrates the amazing planet on which we currently live. Who knows what our lives might be like where it not for the beautiful rock that we have been given. Many game creators in the past and present have tried to capture that beauty, and display it in ways that amaze and enthrall us. We decided that a great way to celebrate this momentous day is to share a list of our favorite examples of when the outdoors meets the indoors. Happy Earth Day!

    Forza Horizon 4

    Forza Horizon 4

When it comes to enjoying the environment, there’s nothing like taking a ride down your favorite road! Letting nature pass you by as you take it all in. With the awe-striking graphics, Forza Horizon 4 explores a varied terrain in an exhilarating way. There are many vehicles to choose from, sorted in to categories based on their most easily-handled terrain. From off-roading through some mucky woods to zooming along a snowy mountain side, Forza Horizon 4 has much to offer for any nature enthusiast!

    My Time At Portia

    My Time at Portia

While not quite as graphically advanced as FH4, many have touted My Time at Portia for the streamlined yet whimsical quality of the environment. With cutesy cows and shreddable shrubs dotting the path, My Time at Portia brings forth a colorful rendition of our world that is simultaneously relaxing and invigorating. There is much to see in the world Portia, and the beautiful art style makes every moment just as scintillating as the last!

    Unravel 2

    Unravel and Unravel 2

Both Unravel and Unravel 2 contain an art style that creates a whole new view of our world, and is displayed vibrantly throughout the game. You see the world from the eyes of Yarny, a little yarn creature only the size of an apple, and must use your yarn abilities to solve puzzles. You will travel to many gorgeous locales, all expressed from the perspective of something only a few inches tall. The original title, Unravel, was hailed for having “stunning scenery”, and was even able to throw in a protagonist that is just a lovely as the stages it roams!

    Steep

    Steep

Another “extremely” fun way to explore the world in a digital fashion is through the extreme sports genre. There have been many sweet titles in this category, but Steep took it to the next level with not only its graphics, but also some totally tubular gameplay! Explore an open world tailored to the hardcore sports enthusiast, with lots of greenery to dodge and plenty of powder just ripe for the shredding. Matthew Kato of Game Informer mentioned that steep had “one of the most diverse and visually interesting open worlds” in gaming!

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Another visually-striking open world title that we can’t get enough of is the epic RPG, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild! The world comes to life in this diverse installment in the classic series. With monsters that take their form from Gaia itself, there is much to see and do in the land of Hyrule! Like never before, Breath of the Wild breathes vibrant life into the Zelda games, with an insanely expansive geography, similar to our own, but unique where it matters!

Éloïse Laroche, the sole developer behind this adorable title, has recently announced that she will be releasing her game on Steam Early Access this August, and can already be added to your wishlist. To get caught up with Alchemy Story, read our article about it here. Now let’s dive in to her Devlog post for the month of March 2019.

    Day & Night Cycle

A welcome addition to the game is that of the transition from day to night. There are now wonderfully detailed animations of the sun in the morning sky and the stars at night.

    The Fairykeeper

Jasmine Lightwing has a relationship with the fairies and will help us with gaining their trust as well! This means new areas to explore.

    Forest & Lumber

You now have the ability to cut down trees and to collect the lumber. This and other upcoming features of things you will be able to do in the forest are as follows:

    • Axe upgrades. These will allow you to cut down trees faster and lose less energy.
    • Energy potions. You’ll be able to regain your energy without leaving the forest.
    • Special levels. You’ll encounter unique forest levels.
    • Hot air balloon. This will allow you to fast travel to a specific level.

    The Garden

Another exciting update is that of the new garden features. Walk over to your crops and see their names as well as how many days are left until they are ready to harvest. This will make farming so much easier! Charlotte will have garden bed expansions for sale in her shop.

Moreover, some other character animations for Arabella and technical updates have been added such as the ability to zoom in and out with the camera. You can check out the details of the Devlog on the Patreon page here. If Alchemy Story piques your interest, stay tuned on our website for an upcoming review of the game!

    [su_service title=”Can’t wait for Alchemy Story?” icon=”icon: star” icon_color=”#8300ff” size=”32″ class=””][/su_service]

Neither could we. So we reached out to see if we could get our hands on a few copies for fans (and maybe one for us)! Thanks to the generosity of Éloïse Laroche, we now three copies to share with our followers, and we couldn’t be happier to do so!

For a chance to claim a code for yourself, simply comment on this post that you would like to join, and earn 25 Tater-tots (basically just perusing mypotatogames.com content) between now and this coming Monday the 15th! For a chance to win a code for you and a friend, tag a friend in the comment section (on either the Facebook post or Twitter post) that you think would love this game!

All participants must comment in the section below before tagging a friend. Two separate winners will be chosen for the three codes. The codes we have are only for PC. The winners will be chosen at random sometime shortly after the giveaway ends! We thank all of you for your continued support of our site, and for supporting the games we love to talk about!
