Zelda: Breath of the Wild has been in development for many years. Initially planned to be a Nintendo Wii U only game, it was then delayed to allow enough time for a Nintendo Switch port. The game was first shown of at The Game Awards 2014, where we were getting a first glimpse of the beautiful world in Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

But the game was far from completion at that stage, and during development a lot of things can change. The video from GameXplain below compares the Zelda game we received on March 3rd, to what was shown throughout the years by Nintendo. It is remarkable to note how much landscaping, and changes have been done in the years between the The Game Awards 2014 and the official release date. If you are interested to see the differences hit the play button below.

The Nintendo Switch is en route to success. Major Sales milestones were announced yesterday, with more than 1.5 Million consoles sold already. However, the launch of the console was not entirely smooth, with some concerns about the joy-con connectivity issue, frame rate drops in Zelda: breath of the Wild due to a Wifi bugs and some more minor issues.

Today we are hearing news about the Nintendo Switch melting SD cards in the SD card slot on the back of the hybrid console. Twitter user ” Sosowski ” claims his Nintendo Switch has melted a San Disk SD card, and left his finger burnt. The melted memory card can be seen in a picture he posted below.

However the SD card manufacture San Disk has had problems with melted SD cards in the past – as seen in the official support response from San Disk.

We are sorry to hear about the issue that you have faced while using the card with your laptop . We would request you to please not to use this card on any device SanDisk® stands behind its commitment to quality and warranty on its products. We recommend that you contact SanDisk® support at 1-866-SANDISK or submit a support request at http://www.sandisk.com/support. The manufacturer warranty on brand new products extends beyond the Amazon.com 30 day return period. We will assist you towards the best resolution even a possible warranty replacement if required.

As it happened before with different devices, this would mean the issue may not be related to the Nintendo Switch. So beware of which SD card you purchase and end up putting into your console.

Character Customizations have never been greater in Zelda: Breath of the Wild on Nintendo Switch and Wii U than any previous Zelda game in the franchise. From huge hoods, to pointy hats and bandanas – you have dozens of choices to dress up Link in any fashion you may desire. However, long time Zelda fans are wondering where the Iconic Pointy green hat is hidden, or why it didn’t make it into the game?

The answer comes from Breath of the Wild art director Satoru Takizawa who claims ” As the graphic fidelity has increased it becomes more difficult to make that hat look cool. ” He also stated that ” As the game becomes more realistic it’s difficult to present it in a way that’s appealing. ” Satoru also explains that in recent games fans were often criticizing the hat ” If you look at Twilight Princess, I really made the hat long, so it would flap in the wind and move around. But because of that people were like ‘What’s he got? What’s in that hat?’ We’re reaching our limits as to how we can make it look cool. ”

Zelda breath of the Wild Green Tunic

    From Reddit User: Mitch3315

It may seem like a good explanation, but Zelda fans are still disappointed not to be able to wear the iconic hat. However, upon finishing the 120 Shrines you will be rewarded the well known and classic Green Zelda Tunic. If you are far away from finishing Breath of the Wild, but still want to have an alternative to the green tunic, you can also unlock the slightly more modern looking green tunic using your Amiibos.

    • Link Amiibo: This Amiibo can get you some pieces from the Armor of Time
    • 8-Bit Link Amiibo: You can use this one to unlock an old-school outfit, from the Amor of the Hero
    • Toon Link Amiibo: You can use the Wind Waker and Smash Bros Version to get a lot of fish, as well as a chance to drop the Armor of Wind.

Fans of the Zelda Franchise have long had an eye on Pine. Introduced in October 2016 this game has come far in it’s development circle. Pine is an adventure and exploration game, with an open world setting similar to Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The developers are currently seeking funding on Kickstarter. Twirlbound the developer of Pine has now announced that a possible Playstation 4, Xbox One and Switch Version in addition to the already confirmed PC version will be considered if the Kickstarter turns out to be successful.

    About Pine

Pine is a game that adapts to you. Using advanced artificial intelligence systems, the game recognizes your patterns and style of play, and makes its creatures and world evolve to you specifically. Take the role of Hue, a scared but brave adolescent belonging to one of the last remaining human tribes on the island of Albamare, fighting for the survival of their species. Find your way to a new home in an amazing adventure! Pine is in development for PC (Windows/Mac), and if the crowdfunding campaign allows it, we’d love to bring it to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Switch.

Watch an early extended gameplay video below, or watch the official trailer here.

You can read our detailed preview of the game here. If you would like to support the game on Kickstarter you can do so here.
