Developed by the makers of the most epic Pokemon titles!

Town is a super cute looking RPG game being made by the creators of the best Pokemon games, Game Freak. Game Freak is not only responsible for making the best classic Pokemon games, like Red and Blue, but also the soon-to-be-released Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield. They created many games outside the Pokemon franchise however, like HarmoKnight and Drill Dozer. Now, they are working very hard on creating Town, an action RPG that takes place only in a single town.

Town was revealed last year in September’s Nintendo Direct. We got to see a reveal trailer which showed just enough information to get everyone excited, but not quite enough to satiate our curiosity. It is shown that you will get to play as a cute hero who must save his village from an invasion of monsters.

The action in the game is experienced through turn-based battle. You will also be able to summon the help of other villages during battle to aid in defeating the larger enemies. Town is still a working title, and is set to be released sometime this year. Recently, an image was leaked on Reddit that gives us a closer look at what the battle sequences might actually look like.

Nintendo just held its quarterly earnings call to its investors and spilled some tiny beans on upcoming Nintendo related news. The investor call ( which we imagine takes place in a room full of Tom Nooks gathered around a table decorated with towers of bell bags ) was all about Nintendos plans in 2019. Luckily part of the plan was a confirmation that Animal Crossing Switch is to be released this year – yay!

Of course we were already promised a release window for Animal Crossing Switch this year, but lately Nintendo has delayed many of their projects including Mario Tour, Metroid 4 and the unspoken Pikmin game just to name a few. It comes with great relief that Nintendo confirmed that our beloved village simulator will still land on our Nintendo Switch this year.

Besides Animal Crossing Switch, Nintendo also confirmed that Pokemon Shield and Pokemon Sword are still to come this year. Interestingly the big N states a winter release for these games. If history is any indication Nintendo would not risk releasing two major titles too close to each others. Last year the company released Pokemon Pikachu and Pokemon Eve in November followed by another big release of Smash Bros in December. If we were to make a rough guesstimate and assumption we would think that an Animal Crossing Switch release in September would be a great solution, but who are we to make such bold statements. 🙂

    Nintendo Release Schedule
Nintendos launch schedule for upcoming games

Thanks to Nintendo we can all be a little bit more relaxed and keep waiting patiently for Isabelle and co. to finally make an appearance on our consoles. For now we have to make do with the announcement trailer of the game back from September, 2018… sigh. We have added it for our, as well as your convenience below in case you’d like to watch it one more time ( We know you do! ).

In case you missed it a new Story of Seasons has been confirmed to be in development for Nintendo Switch. Mario Kart Tour, the first mobile game in the franchise is kicking off a beta test on Android and sign-ups are already open.

Tomorrows Nintendo Nindies Showcase will begin at 9 a.m PT / 12 p.m ET. You can watch it right here on myPotatoGames below!

There have been several rumors circulating around Animal Crossing Switch. With a release still expected this year, Nintendo has been very quiet about the upcoming Village simulator. Today Twitter users cabreraleak, who is known for leaking Nintendo related information  (but has also been wrong in the past), revealed some more Animal Crossing Switch details that have apparently leaked and then spread quickly.

Here at myPotatoGames we are very cautious about posting rumors surrounding our most loved and favorite games, therefore keep in mind that these are only rumors and maybe or most likely none of these are actual facts.  The only reliable source of Animal Crossing related announcements would be coming from Nintendo directly. With that being said, let us hop right in and start dreaming about what Animal Crossing Switch could be like. Here is the break down of his tweet.

    Animal Crossing Switch Features

According to cabreraleak, the next installment in the Animal Crossing franchise will feature 8 player multiplayer and you will even be able to move furniture and redecorate your home while your friends are over. Anyone who played Animal Crossing: New Leaf will be particularly happy to hear this. Beyond online multiplayer, he also points out that a split-screen multiplayer using two joy-cons would be a feature to look forward to.

Furthermore, he says the game will feature 100+ new animals, and Amiibo functionality will be returning as well, with support for old Amiibos still in tact. In his tweet he also points out that there would not be any loading times during the game, which is one of his points that lead us to believe these rumors are actually fake.

    Animal Crossing Switch Release Date

Of course, he also mentioned an Animal Crossing Switch release date and while we take in all the information with a grain of salt, we believe that his idea of the release window in September 2019 could actually be a possibility, given that the big N is planning to release the recently announced Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield by the end of this year. The company usually avoids overlapping major game releases, which would push Animal Crossing Switch forward to either September or October, with other not yet announced releases in between that Nintendo promised during the most recent financial call to its investors.

As fun as this list of presumed Animal Crossing Switch features is, we would put a big fake stamp on these. Although this is not a reason to be sad, there is a big chance that the actual list of features that will be released by Nintendo – once time has come – will actually exceed our expectations.

We would like to point out once more that any rumors surrounding Nintendo games, especially big titles like Animal Crossing should always be enjoyed carefully. Nintendo is doing an impeccable job of not leaking any information regarding future titles, most rumors in the past have turned out to be false, with the exception of some predictions of upcoming Nintendo Directs. Make sure to come back for more Animal Crossing and other exciting news here on myPotatoGames.
