Steam is having a gigantic sale on games for Black Friday, so I sorted it out to find some of my favorites.
Black Friday is now only two days away! Though, many retails and suppliers of goods and services have decided to offer discounts ahead of the big day. Steam is currently offering some pretty big discounts on lots of my favorite games. So in case you are yet to try any of these reduced-price games, now is the time.
Don’t Starve Together
The “Don’t Starve” series of games are currently being offered at a substantial discount. Specifically, Don’t Starve Together is now only $5.99, down from $14.99. Don’t Starve Together is the multiplayer expansion for the Uber-popular game franchise, Don’t Starve. Don’t Starve is an open-world, 2D sandbox survival game with procedurally generated maps and kooky graphics. See Don’t Starve Together on Steam. Other Don’t Starve items include Shipwrecked and Reign of Giants DLC.
Lot’s of LEGO Games
LEGO has been great at taking some of the world’s biggest gaming franchises and making them cute and silly. Now, you can try some of these charming remakes at greatly reduced price. LEGO Worlds is currently offered at 50% of it’s original cost, making it now only $14.99. Other games on sale include Star Wars, Marvel, Harry Potter and Jurassic Park, all LEGO-fied.
Spyro Reignited Trilogy + Crash Bandicoot
Not too long ago, we were given the gift of the remakes of the first three installments of the Spyro series. Our favorite rambunctious dragon is back with an all new shiny coat of paint. The trilogy of games is currently available for only $31.99, which is 20% off. If you purchase this trilogy with the Crash Bandicoot trilogy, you get a total of 40% off. That’s six different remastered games for $47.82!
Wanderlust Travel Stories
Wanderlust Travel Stories is a game about traveling, but it offers a lot more than just that, it is essentially a life simulation game about choices. The game is on sale for $9.99, which is half of the original price. It is a relaxing game about exploring the world, and seeing where sim-life takes you.
Re:Legend
Re:Legend is on sale once again. This time the price tag has dropped by 20%, making it currently $15.99. Re:Legend is an adorable adventure game that features many fun creatures and exciting quests. It is a great game that is certainly worth the pice tag.

Pokemon Go is still going strong even years after it first released. The upcoming Halloween season is going to be super spooky in the world of Pokemon Go.
Niantic has finally revealed how you can celebrate Halloween in Pokemon Go and the developer didn’t shy away from going all out this spooky season. Along with all the shadow Pokemon making a return and frequently crossing your path, you can also expect to encounter a Shiny Yamask – that is, if you are lucky enough!
Of course there will also be plenty of new customization options for your avatar so you can dress up for Halloween as well! Check out the full event feature list below!
The event will kick off October 17th so make sure to charge your phone prior to the event and be ready to go hunting and catch them all! Make sure to do so at the beginning of the event as most of to will end right after Halloween on November 1st.
More Pokemon related news came from Pokemon Sword and Shield where Nintendo revealed a first glance at the first town you will encounter in the game!

A few of my favorite games are currently discounted in the Nintendo eShop.
The Nintendo eShop is definitely my preferred way to purchase games. Many of my favorite titles are all available at the click of a button. Luckily, right now some of those titles, like My Time At Portia, are currently available at a discount. The sale is sponsored by Team17, so all games discounted are by this amazing game publisher.

My Time Portia is wonderfully beautiful life sim that I just can’t get enough of. Since being ported to the Switch, My Time At Portia has gone through some major updates to make it currently one of the best games on the console (personal opinion). My Time at Portia has been marked down by 30%, making it now only $20.99. You can access that discount right now at the Nintendo eShop.
Overcooked 2 is an exciting and whimsical party puzzle game. The object of the game is to prepare increasingly intricate dishes in a super hectic kitchen. The best cooperation with your staff will yield the best results. Now, you can try it for yourself at a discount of 30%, making it only $17.49. Again, just visit the Nintendo eShop for access to that discount.
Yooka-Laylee is a cute and exciting 3D adventure game with adorable graphics and hilarious cast of characters. It was created by the makers of Banjo-Kazooie, and takes much likeness from that series. The game is currently available at a whopping 50% discount, making this title only $19.99. Visit the eShop to access this offer as well.

With the Kickstarter campaign of Potion Paws going live last Thursday, September 5th, 2019, the developers at Bitten Toast Games decided to throw an online community event within the multiplayer mode of Garden Paws. You may remember our review of the most adorable simulation RPG here and how we haven’t yet had the chance to try out the online feature of the game. Since it has been one of our favorites this year, we backed its spookier potion-making counterpart Potion Paws and took part in the giveaways and party! Besides, if you own both games on Steam, you’ll get crossover items in Creative Mode.
Online Multiplayer and Creative Mode
When you play online in Garden Paws, you have the choice to create a server room and allow up to 4 players into your world. They can help you farm, fight monsters in the dungeon, and pretty much anything else you can do in single-player campaign. This is also a particularly useful way to share rare items. Creative Mode is basically a sandbox mode where you already have access to every single item the game has to offer with some added bonuses which include: a jetpack and magic carpet to fly around, the lawnmower from the Summer games festival, confetti canon, and more! If you’re looking for players to join you can always check out the awesome community of Garden Paws on the official Discord channel here.
Garden Paws Online Community Event
The developers Dan and Kristina are frequently live-streaming on Twitch showcasing gameplay, accepting requests from followers while they continue to add new items and features to the game, and occasionally put on a “creative challenge” out to the community. Meaning, they tell you the theme and you can use the tools and items at your disposal to build and paint anything you can imagine! As mentioned above, to celebrate the Kickstarter launch of Potion Paws, Kristina opened a Dev Server allowing up to 32 people to join and create something carnival themed. Since the theme was “carnival”, fellow tater Joelle (that’s me!) decided to join the fun and created her own Balloon Shop! In Garden Paws you can either have your character hold balloons in their hands while running around, or place them anywhere for decoration. As seen in the screenshots below, you can build foundations, fences, paths and place furniture, and then you can paint them with solid colors or patterns. There are even letters of the alphabet to use! I gave anyone who walked up to my booth a balloon because I was so proud of my contribution to this event.
Next up we took a look at Kristina’s (the dev) half-built Ferris-wheel using wood pieces and cabana benches. We all took the available seating for a wonderful photo-op overlooking the sea and islands.
Here we have a wonderfully creative way to build a merry-go-round using in-game farm animals and pets! The details here must have taken quite a long time! Everyone hopped on for a ride! I chose the glittering rare unicorn because I could; I got there first.
There were 3 major attractions that actually turned into little mini-games for all to try out. Someone took garden hedges and created quite the challenging maze, another created a huge 3-story glass house maze, and finally at the tallest point on the island you could glide through some hoops and bounce off of trampolines at the bottom. It took me a while to complete the glass house maze but I had some excellent cheerleaders by my side!
During Creative Mode, you still go through the day/night cycle so that all of your hard work saves at the end of the day. Every time we start the day, we end up together in a specific location which lead to shenanigans. This area of the gallery contains immature screenshots because, well, there exists a fart mechanic. “Look Ma! I’m farting on Twitch TV!”
We redeemed ourselves afterward by celebrating with many fireworks and confetti! This is what happens when you can place as many fireworks as you want before lighting them and being able to equip a confetti canon that you can fire off to your hearts content!
Here are a few other buildings created by the community, including a floating deck perfect for relaxing and enjoying the view. No worries about falling, we’re all wearing jetpacks. We’d also really like to know who built that boat from scratch and how!
After a long day of partying, we all relaxed inside a forest sanctuary built by placing quite a few trees to form walls. I have my pet deer with me and I’m roasting some marshmallows by the fire.
I had a really fun experience with the online multiplayer of Garden Paws and would like to thank everyone that joined this party! Hopefully this brings even more players to the game and to this amazing community full of really great people. A little something to help tide-over one lucky Animal Crossing fan?
Seeing as how we were all recently given sad news in regards to the release date of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, we thought we might help ease the pain for at least one AC:NH fan. We have decided to share a few items that we have come across in our travels, you know, from buried treasures and what-not. Our loot stash has become quite expansive, and we feel that it would behoove us to relinquish these goodies upon this loving community!
What’s this all about?
Nothing says “I live and breathe Animal Crossing” quite like exclusive and rare AC-themed collectibles. You’ll wonder how you even lived this long without a Tom Nook New Leaf Plush pillow! Such priceless gems to behold, and now they are truly within your grasp.
As you all know by now, the best loot comes at a certain price! In most cases, that price is to complete a set of goals or tasks, with foes hindering your process along the way. This is one of those cases. However, you should not consider the other treasure hunters to be your foe, but instead a kin seeking the same gleaming horizon.
How it’s gonna go down!
Given the amount, as well as the grandiose manner, of the items on hand, we have decided that the best way to proceed is to set everyone on a quest with some pretty easy goals. No boss battles here. Aside from simply spreading the word to all those who would hear, we do intend to hold jousts and archery competitions. Just kidding.
Instead, our competitive spirits will be evoked in a more friendly manner. For those of you that are new to myPotatoGames, you have just as much chance to reap some benefits as our die hard fans (you know who you are). myPotatoGames is a project created out of love for indie and wholesome games. We feel that a lot of big video game news websites are too “cool” to be covering the games we love so much. We create a hub for games like Animal Crossing, Stardew Valley, Cat Quest, Ooblets, Minekos Night Market, and so many other games that often don’t get the spotlight they deserve.
While this project is mainly founded on the passion and love for casual video games. We still have server costs to cover and potatoes to fry. Joining our Patreon and expressing your support for what we do is not only extremely humbling, but it will also help us keep doing what we do best – connecting players with wholesome, cute and lovely video games and supporting the indie community.

Video games are amazing and made out of so many components, sound, many lines of code and more often than not adorable graphics! There is something so soothing about looking at a game and enjoy the colorful pixels that all come together to create a visually pleasant experience.
This week we want to put the focus on YOU and your creative side! The potato family that makes myPotatoGames our favorite place for cute and wholesome games. Many of you enjoy creating art in any form possible. Clay work, painting, drawing or even a little napkin doodle, or a meme!
We invite you to send us your favorite piece of artwork you have created in admiration of your favorite video game. The piece of art can range from a doodle to a masterpiece or a simple meme you have made, the only thing we look for is originality, so make sure anything you send in is something you have created!
We will showcase every submission to the whole myPotatoGames community. We will then all pick the most unique and fun piece of artwork. The creator of the most upvoted piece will receive 300 Tater-Tots, a copy of the official Animal Crossing Sticker Book and be showcased on myPotatoGames.com and our social media platforms – Twitter, Facebook and Instagram!
