At this years E3 presentation it was revealed that the gorgeous indie title “Way To The Woods” will be releasing next year. Created by solo developer and artist, Anthony Tan, WTTW is an adorable game about a lovely deer and her little fawn. They partake on a grand and perilous journey to find their way back home, to the woods. Only a trailer was played at the convention so far, so we did our research to get you the scoop on this upcoming charming and wholesome game.
As if the graphics and theme of the game aren’t cute enough, the health system literally revolves around staying close to your fawn. If for some reason you are overcome by the threats that are presented on your way to the woods, the world will begin to grow darker. This is sign that you are in too much danger.
You must then return to your little one, so that your light may be replenished. That is what is offered in lieu of a health bar. A health system doesn’t really get more heart-felt than that! The games developer wanted to make sure that the players are able to remain immersed in the amazing world that lay before them, and avoiding any UI is the perfect way to achieve exactly that.
Being that it is possibly the cutest game ever made, we absolutely can’t wait to get our hands on it! Unfortunately, we will have to wait until next year for that to happen. The games graphics are all hand drawn by the developer himself, which certainly reflects in the amazing detail and wonderfully charming aesthetic presented throughout the game. WTTW is a third person adventure game, with whimsical puzzles and cute interactions all along the way. Way To The Woods will be releasing on both PC and consoles.
