Nintendo just released a brand new Animal Crossing New Horizons Update and you will need it in order to keep playing with friends!

The second Summer Wave update for New Horizons is out in the wild and brought a bunch of new features to delight players. However, with the introduction of “Dreaming” a few bugs have been introduced as well.

Todays update focuses on fixing those minor problems that some players may have experienced. If you were hoping for these highly anticipated quality of life improvements or even some new features you may be disappointed as this patch only delivers some bug fixes – but there is always a chance some dataminers will find some exciting news buried deep down in this update.

Nintendo promised fans that game features would be added for free for at least 3 more years. Take a peak at all the rumored and confirmed features coming to New Horizons.

Animal Crossing New Horizons Update 1.4.2 is now available

You can download the latest update right now. All you will need to do is close your game and download the update on your Switch! You will want to have the latest patch in order to use any Animal Crossing New Horizons online services such as playing with friends and sending mail. Take a look at the patch notes below!

The following issues have been addressed:

• From Ver. 1.4.1:
  • Fixed issue where the “sumo ring” would not display properly.
• From Ver. 1.4.0:
  • Fixed issue where the game would shut down under certain conditions when dreaming.
  • Fixed issue where shining soil would improperly appear behind buildings and other places.
  • Fixed issue where specific message cards sent from animal residents the player is close friends with would not arrive in the player’s mailbox as intended.
• From Ver. 1.3.0:
  • Changed the MTU when playing with others from 1364 to 1240 in order to investigate an issue where players cannot play with others in certain network environments.
