During the opening ceremonies of Gamescom 2018 in Germany, Ubisoft took a moment to let German studio Blue Byte speak. Aside from celebrating 30 years of business, they announced not one, but two titles in The Settlers series. The first among these was an anthology title called “The Settlers History” and will be releasing this year. In fact, it releases November 15th, for PC. The idea is to bring all of The Settlers games up to modern standards so they can be played on modern PCs. Alongside this, they announced The Settlers original game would be available immediately on Uplay. Trailer below:

As the trailer teases, there is more to come, and indeed there was. Ubisoft Blue Byte next announced that The Settlers was in development for a brand new release in Fall of 2019. They sounded very proud of their work as they finally got to show us the first look at The Settlers, coming next year. Trailer below:

But What IS The Settlers

The Settlers is a settlement-building simulator that has a long-running tradition in the PC gaming world. This game blends Real Time Strategy with simulation with your main opponent being the environment around you and opposing settlers. It’s up to you to help your town thrive and grow.
