Windscape, a game released on Steam back in September of 2016 is finally coming to Nintendo Switch. The RPG game was first announced for Nintendos hybrid console in March of 2018, now we finally received an official release date.

The game is now scheduled for a Nintendo Switch release on March 27th. Windscape was originally going to release on the Wii U, however that version never appeared on the console. The developers turned their focus on the Nintendo Switch version of the game, which will finally land in our hands soon!

The developers have also created a special treat for fans of the game. Every pre-order will come at a %20 discount, and pre-loading will go live on March 8th. If you can’t wait to play Windscape, make sure to check out the Nintendo eShop to pre-order the game.

    About Windscape

Windscape is a first-person exploration adventure set in a lovely world made up of floating islands in the sky. The game is highly reminiscent of the The Legend of Zelda games as well as Secret of Mana and Golden Axe Warrior of which the developer is a huge fan of. As such Windscape combines the spirit and flow of these genre classics with elements of modern exploration, crafting and survival games. The result is a unique game with a fresh blend of genres.

Meet peaceful NPCs each island’s overworld and vicious monsters in the dungeons and lairs you uncover along your journey. While the islands work in a non-linear manner, the dungeons are more puzzle and combat driven – each with its own style and atmosphere. However, brute force won’t get you far in larger boss fights. Tactics and figuring out your enemies’ combat patterns are key to defeating larger foes such as ghosts, ogres and dragons. Your effort will be rewarded of course – there are many valuable items to loot!.

    Features:

    A handcrafted universe
A beautiful world to explore and discover
An immersive yet classical story around a young girl
A profound yet simple to use crafting system
Murky dungeons and challenging boss fights

Windscape, a game that released on Steam back in September of 2016, seems to have plans for releases on other platforms, including the Nintendo Switch. A section of Headup Games’ website makes this a lot more likely. Windscape was originally going to release on the Wii U in 2016 but that version still hasn’t released and at this point, it probably won’t. This title seems perfect for the Nintendo Switch though!

In Windscape, you play as a girl living on a farm with your parents. The world of Windscape is made up of floating islands and eventually, you find out that these islands are breaking apart and falling from the sky. It’s your job to find out what is causing these things to happen and to hopefully put it to an end.

    Main Windscape Features:

Exploring – Windscape has a very simplistic but beautiful art style. Explore through the world taking on quests from different characters you come across, gather resources, and fight enemies in your way.

Crafting – Gathering resources is important because they can be used for crafting. There’s many crafting stations in key places of the world. You can cook different meals, create potions, make weapons, and more!

Dungeons – You’ll find some dungeons while playing through Windscape. Some are meant more for exploring and some are more connected with the story. One things for sure, you’ll be running into some challenging boss battles too.

If you want to try out Windscape, you can buy it on Steam for $16.99. To get a good look at Windscape, you can watch the trailer below. For some more interesting upcoming Switch games – the creator of Harvest Moon announced that he’ll be working on a new game called Little Dragons Cafe. Also, check out Kynseed, a sandbox RPG.

For more Switch news head over here to celebrate the consoles first anniversary, and see why it’s time for Smash Bros Switch now. And make sure you don’t miss out on Spellbound –  Chucklefish’s ( Stardew Valley’s publisher ) next game, that might come to Nintendo Switch.

    About Windscape

In Windscape you play as a young girl living on your parents’ farm, set in a lovely world made up of floating islands in the sky. As you discover the world you learn that something has gone terribly wrong – islands are breaking apart and falling from the sky! It’s up to you to discover the evil that is threatening the universe of Windscape.

As you travel the world(s) you will gather valuable resources allowing you to craft a plethora of items such as weapons, shields, potions, magical spells and much more. Some items will be just for fun while others are a necessity for your survival.

You will meet peaceful NPCs and vicious monsters both on the surface of each island as well as in the dungeons and lairs you uncover along your journey. While I want the islands to work in a non-linear manner, I have decided to make the dungeons more puzzle and combat driven – each with its own style and atmosphere.
Windscape will feature tactical fights against larger bosses such as ghosts, ogres and dragons. Of course, there are many valuable items to loot too.

What I don’t want Windscape to be? A stats-driven RPG, a terraforming sandbox game or a first-person action game. This is why I am asking for your support. I’m building this game for the community and hopefully with the community. I feel your feedback is really needed to match my vision with the high standards you, the players, demand. Because of this I have chosen to go into Early Access, hoping to make great friends and build a community which shares my vision and aids me on my development quest…
