I am so excited for todays release of the Nintendo Switch Lite!
The Nintendo Switch Lite is finally available for purchase starting today. The smaller, more handheld friendly version is out now and costs $100 less than the original console. For more details on all the differences between the two consoles, I’ve got you covered!
It will now be much easier to play all my favorite games on the go, without having to worry about the bulk of the home console. I know it’s not that much different in size, but taking a console like the Switch everywhere with you can sometimes feel risky.
Having a more portable version definitely feels like the safest way to game on the go. If you would like to get your hands on your very own Nintendo Switch Lite, you can do so on Amazon quite easily. The release of the Nintendo Switch Lite is just around the corner! Here are some accessories to go with it.
We are super excited about the release of the Nintendo Switch Lite. It’s not that the original Switch isn’t good for mobile gaming. We just can’t wait to have a version that is just a bit more mobile friendly. I personally will be getting the Turquoise version, and am super stoked that they released this console in one of my favorite colors. Anyway, in all this excitement, we decided to compile a list of awesome Nintendo Switch Lite accessories that will help us complete the ultimate Switch Lite package.
Popular Flip Cover Case
One special item that we have been keeping our eye is the flip-cover case for the Switch Lite. It is a light and handy cover case that snaps closed with ease and keeps your console snug and safe. It is a rather cheap yet effective accessory that any gamer shouldn’t go without. Unfortunately, this little piece of hardware won’t be available until November 1st, about a month and a half after the consoles release date. You can, however, add it to your cart in the Play Asia store.
Clip-on Comfort Grip
Having a comfort grip is almost a necessity when it comes to mobile gaming these days. With all the benefits that come with this most streamlined of accessories, it seems almost ridiculous to go without. Now, you won’t have to when it comes to the Nintendo Switch Lite. The most advanced experience for mobile gamers is soon to be released, and now it can be the most comfortable as well.
Tempered Glass Screen Protector
Mobile gaming is super fun, but comes with extra risks compared to just staying at home. Dropping an advanced system like the Switch Lite can be a pretty costly mistake. Aside from just getting smaller, here are some other changes with the new Switch model.
Grab Your Nintendo Switch Lite
The Nintendo Switch Lite is now up for pre-order on Amazon. All version including Turquoise, Yellow, Gray and even the Zacian and Zamazenta Edition are now available for grabs. Delivery is expected to happen on September, 20th!
The Nintendo Switch Lite will launch on September 20th, this year. The price tag upon release is set at $199, which is great news for everyone still holding out on getting this epic console. So far, the new model will play most of the 2000 games currently available for Nintendo Switch, unless the game requires the device to be docked (since the Lite cannot be docked). We have already outlined a few of the changes in the systems with our original article on the Nintendo Switch Lite, but we have decided to go into just a bit more detail.
The new model will indeed be smaller. Just how much smaller? The screen on the original Switch model is 6.2″, and the Lite will drop that to 5.5″. The overall dimensions of the hardware will also drop some. The original model is 4″ by 9.4″, and the new model is 3.6″ by 8.2″. Hopefully this size will accommodate more pockets than the initial model.
Aside from the hardware size, there have also been some mechanical changes internally. The Lite will feature a longer battery life than the dockable model. As per the usual in handheld devices, the battery life will jump from a range of 2.5hrs-6.5hrs on the original model, to 3hrs-7hrs on the Lite model.
Thanks to all the downsizing on equipment, there will also be a slight drop in the weight of the device. The original Nintendo Switch weighed approximately .88 pounds (with controllers attached), and the Lite will weigh .66 pounds. Not a huge difference, but enough to make the ease of portability alone categorize this device as a true handheld.

The rumors for a Nintendo Switch Mini have been circulating for some time now. Today Nintendo finally revealed the Nintendo Switch Lite, a smaller compact handheld only console.
The Nintendo Switch Lite seems to be the successor to the Nintendo 3DS at first glance. It comes with a slightly smaller screen to make the console more portable and compact. The controllers on the left and right side can also not be detached. It is clear that the Nintendo Switch Lite is designed to be a handheld only version, as it also can’t be docked to play on the big screen.
The console is capable of playing all the Nintendo Switch games that can be played in handheld mode, but excludes those that can only be played in docked mode. Animal Crossing New Horizons for example is confirmed to be playable in handheld mode and can therefore be also played on the new Nintendo Switch Lite.
The console however is also much cheaper than its bigger counterpart as it will be sold for $199 starting September 20th, the special edition will be released on November 8th. It comes in three adorable colors and even a special edition right at launch – take a looksie at the gorgeous Nintendo Switch Lite below.
If you are in the market to get a Switch, this might be a good choice, or if you primarily enjoy gaming on the go, or anywhere but in front of the TV this also might be the right Switch for you!
