[dropcap]F[/dropcap]ollowing on from last month’s Splatoon event, the Poke Ball Scavenger Hunt is now a GO on Pocket Camp.

With an Eevee costume, an adorable giant Eevee plushie, and other Poke ball and Eevee themed items, this event is one that Pokemon fans won’t want to miss! The event will last until October 23rd, so ‘catch ’em all’ whilst you can.

Throughout the event, players can find Poke balls around the campsite, which they can then use (alongside Leaf tickets) to craft the special event items.

Players can obtain an Eevee hood in their mailbox by just logging into the game.

Additionally, director of Pokemon Let’s Go: Eevee!/Pikachu! Junichi Masuda is joining in with the fun and tweeting about the event.

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he solo developer of Stardew Valley (Eric Barone of ConcernedApe) has recently made an exciting announcement. Stardew Valley will soon be available on iOS and Android! The game will be coming to iOS first, and will be released on the app store (where it can be pre-ordered) on the 24th October. The mobile version of the game is being overseen by London-based studio The Secret Police.

    About Stardew Valley:

Stardew Valley is a Harvest Moon-reminiscent RPG farming simulation with pixel graphics. Developed by ConcernedApe and published by Chucklefish, the game was very well received. It currently holds a 10/10 rating on Steam where it also has ‘Overwhelmingly Positive’ reviews.

Some of the game’s features include:
    • Raising animals, growing crops and improving your farm
    • Improving skills in 5 different areas (farming, mining, combat, fishing, and foraging)
    • A variety of complex characters, places, enigmas, and secrets to discover
    • Diversity in character customization and dating
    • Over two hours of original music.
The game is already available to play on a wide variety of platforms including:
    • Microsoft Windows
    • Linux
    • Mac OS
    • PS4
    • Xbox One
    • Nintendo Switch
    • PS Vita

    About Stardew Valley for mobile:

Unfortunately, online multiplayer farming will not be available on iOS and Android. The port will, however, include all of the single player content from the recent 1.3 PC update.

The mobile versions have been optimized for touch screens, and contain a new UI, new controls, and a new menu system. Additionally, upon the game’s launch, players will be able to transfer their PC save data to iOS via iTunes.

Priced at $7.99 and with no in-app purchase options, the port is seemingly good value for money.

Eric Barone has said that the Android version of the game is nearly complete. He has also reassured gamers that work on multiplayer updates for consoles will be unaffected. This is because the console updates are being handled by teams separate from those working on the mobile versions.

[dropcap]P[/dropcap]rofessor Layton And The Curious Village was initially released by Level-5 for Nintendo DS in Japan in 2007. Fast forward to 11 years later, and Layton fans can play a remastered HD version of the enigmatic game on either iOS or Android.

The game features the gentlemanly Professor Hershel Layton, a puzzle-loving archaeologist, and his young assistant Luke Triton, an easily nettled boy with a huge appetite and an ability to talk to animals.

The first game has the duo searching on behalf of a wealthy widow for an elusive artefact supposedly hidden by her late husband, the Baron. Whoever finds the artefact will inherit the Baron’s immense wealth.

With a beautiful animation style synonymous of Level-5, captivating music and plenty of suspense and emotion, the game remains entertaining despite its age, hence why a remake was made.

The trailer for the polished puzzle game can be watched below.

It has not been announced whether European gamers will be able to buy limited edition copies of the game or not. However, physical copies of the game will definitely be available to purchase. With a cute box design, this is welcome news to those who collect physical copies of Switch games.

    About:

Little Dragons Cafe is an upcoming game from Rising Star Games, who are infamous for their Harvest Moon series.

The story begins with a twin brother and sister running a small café with their mother. All was peaceful and routine until one morning the twins discovered that their mother fell into a deep sleep and wouldn’t wake up. Suddenly, an old wizard appears and tells the twins that their mother is gravely ill and that they must raise a dragon in order to save her.

Working together with their three quirky staff members (waiter, waitress, and chef), the two siblings must raise a dragon and manage the family business while at the same time discover what is causing their mother’s illness and find a cure.

Little Dragons Café is the latest tour de’ force from Yasuhiro Wada, founder of the Harvest Moon series.

    Features:

Raise your very own dragon! Embrace your nurturing instincts and raise your own dragon! Through wise decisions, proper nutrition, and empathetic nurturing show the world the true potential of your dragon companion!

Create culinary masterpieces and run a successful café – Learn new recipes and master the art of cooking while running your café. Explore the world, discover new ingredients, and expand your menu (and your restaurant!) while catering to the whims of your customers.

Farm the land and harvest nature’s bounty – The best dishes use the freshest ingredients, and the best way to ensure that is to grow your own produce. Till the land and fish the rivers, and gather the most flavourful fixings for your signature dishes.

Serve the townsfolk, make them happy! Not only cook for the people in your town, but also help them with their problems to increase your popularity and the general happiness of everyone around you.

[dropcap]N[/dropcap]intendo are always attempting to better their popular mobile game, we’ll give them that. Whether it’s the variety of regular in-game events, or free leaf tickets to compensate for bugs (not the type you can catch with a net!), the big N seem to know what makes fans tick.

This morning, an in-app news announcement hinted at what the next game update would entail.

    The Market Box

Players will soon have the opportunity to sell items in their market box to everyone, or just their friends. This is something I’m looking forward to, as I often have things lingering in my market box for weeks. As well as being a helpful money-making tool, this will also help players buy items they desperately need in order to complete animal quests.

    Powered up friends list

Ever forgotten to return the favour of helping your friends in the Shovelstrike quarry? The next update will alert players when a friend needs help with the Shovelstrike quarry, meaning players don’t have to open their friends list and scroll through every friend (a time-consuming task if you have many friends). This means you are less likely to forget to reciprocate your friends’ good deeds, and thus keep your Pocket Camp friends sweet.

Lick of paint for the log-in bonus

It has also been announced that the log-in Bonus display will be given a fresh look with a new design.

    Old design:

Professor Layton fans rejoice! Layton’s Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaires’ Conspiracy is making its way to Switch.

Many fans of the Professor Layton series have been ‘puzzling’ over whether the popular franchise would be excluded from the Switch. But recently, Level 5 announced that last year’s popular puzzle game Layton’s Mystery Journey will also be released on Nintendo Switch.

The game is set to be released in Japan on August 9th.

Whilst there is no confirmation of a release for the West, it’s likely there will be one, and that it will be soon. Layton’s Mystery Journey was released for 3DS in Japan on July 20th 2017.  Shortly after, on the October 6th 2017, the game was released worldwide.

    About

The notorious Professor Layton is absent in this game. Layton’s Mystery Journey stars the Professor’s previously unmentioned daughter Katrielle as the Protagonist. Katrielle has undoubtedly inherited her father’s intelligence, but sometimes has people dubious due to her ‘gut feelings’. She is also a little more outspoken and disorganised than her gentlemanly father.

The Professor has been missing for quite some time, and Katrielle is starting to become worried. Nevertheless, she decides continue her father’s legacy and sets up the Layton Detective Agency. Alongside her talking dog (Sherl), her infatuated assistant (Ernest Greeves), and her rival (Emiliana Perfetti) she tackles various difficult cases presented to her by fellow Londoners. The mysteries are often odd, with unexpected culprits, which makes the game unpredictable and interesting.

The game is similar to previous games in the series due to the ability to find and solve puzzles, explore surroundings, collect items, and play minigames. It differs in that instead of having one main storyline with chapters, the game is split into 12 different cases with an overarching theme. Despite scoring slightly lower on Metacritic than other Layton games, the game still holds a respectable rating of 72/100. Having played the 3DS version myself, I would definitely recommend it to Layton fans, Puzzle game fans and Level-5 fans.

You can read more about the game here.

Memories, pastries and even the fortune cookie, this is in update where you won’t want to play hookie!

[dropcap]N[/dropcap]intendo have recently announced that the next Pocket Camp update is going to be a big one. With the ability to obtain much-needed new furniture and clothing from fortune cookies, we here at MyPotatoGames can’t wait for the next big update!

    Fortune cookies:

A fortune cookie shop will open in the Marketplace. When players eat the mysterious cookies, they will be awarded with furniture or clothing. The stars on a fortune cookie indicates the rarity of the prize contained inside them.

Some fortune cookies can be obtained with Leaf tickets or bells, whilst others can only be obtained with Leaf tickets.

There are a variety of fortune cookies available for purchase. Cookies will be changed occasionally, so make sure you check back.

You can also be gifted fortune cookies as a reward from animals.

    Stamp cards:

For every cookie you buy with leaf tickets, you will earn one stamp. Once you’ve earned ten stamps, you will get a stamp card. You can trade stamp cards in for various items, depending on how many stamp cards you have.
You can also trade them for items you would normally only get from fortune cookies.

    Memories:

New furniture with associated memories is also coming. Upon obtaining certain furniture, as well as fulfilling other necessary requirements (such as having certain animals come to visit), you will be able to view exclusive memories featuring those animals.

    Cookie introduction:

Nintendo have said that more information on fortune cookies will be available over the next few days. For now though, they’ve given us the following information:

Marshal’s pastry cookie – Marshal’s pastry cookie will contain cute pastry-shop themed items that coincide nicely with spring. We think that a pastry-shop themed campsite is just what is ‘kneaded’.

Pastry shop kitchen – The pastry-shop kitchen will also be added, along with a corresponding memory. After fulfilling requirements, you can view a special memory that features both Marshal and Goldie.

Filbert’s rocket cookie – Filbert’s rocket cookies will contain space themed items. You can have an adventurous looking campsite and feel like a real astronaut by changing into the exclusive space outfit.

Rosie’s pop star cookie – Inside these fortune cookies you can get pop-star themed items, allowing you to reproduce a live-stage performance. Invite your favourite animals to your campsite and let them take to the stage.

    More to follow!

In between updates, we recommend checking out the 15 cutest Nintendo 3DS Games here.
