Simpler Times is an interactive meditation experience by developer stoneskip. that promises beautifully poignant moments. You play as Taina, who is getting ready to move out of her childhood home to begin the next exciting chapter of her life. The game takes place in your childhood bedroom as you relive memories and learn how Taina became the creative and expressive person she is today!

This is another game perfect for the super casual gamer as there are no timers, no scores, no combat, and no anxiety-inducing scenarios. Simpler Times offers a reflective, contemplative story experience instead. Listen to music, paint, watch the world outside your window, read, and solve notes at your own pace. Each object in the room has a story to tell about the past, a story that takes place over 10 years and in four different months and seasons. There’s even a lovely lo-fi soundtrack to accompany you through your observations and puzzles.

    Release Date

Simpler Times is set to release on Steam, though there is no release date available. There is a demo to try out, though!

The atmosphere of this game reminds me of Behind The Frame!

Little-Known Galaxy is a super cute space-based farming sim by developers Carbon & Kay. In this game, you’ve recently joined the Space Alliance as a new captain-in-training. The Space Alliance assigns you to a working spaceship, but it’s seen better days. Together with your new crew, you’ll live life on the cozy ship, explore the galaxy, solve the mysteries of the ancient relics found on the Grey Planet.

Start this exciting galactic adventure by creating your own customized character. Use your Restoration Ray to clean up the captain’s quarters and other parts of the ship that are uninhabited. Then, get to know your crew members as you’ll be living in close quarters with them. Little-Known Galaxy is self-described as a farming sim, too, because you’ll start your own container farm in your quarters. Plus, there’s crafting, cooking, microbe research, and more! Explore new worlds to gather resources, upgrade and restore your ship, fix the on-board museum by donating specimens to it, and even romance some of the characters. If you play your cards right with keeping crew morale up, procuring enough resources, conducting the proper amount of research, and restoring the ship well, you’ll even rank up to full fledged captain! There’s so much to do in this cozy game, it’s sure to keep you glued to your computer.

    Release Date

Little-Known Galaxy releases on Steam May 20th! In the meantime, you can add it to your Wishlist and try out the demo to get a small taste of what’s to come.

Stairway Games has announced the upcoming 1.1 update to their lovely farming sim, Coral Island! I, like many other gamers, have been eagerly waiting for the next update as the game is rather unfinished. However, the 1.1 update will add what many players have been impatiently waiting for: Merfolk relationships and romances! This update is essentially the ocean update and adds more than just relationships, though.

    What to Look Forward To

Coral Island is expanding its horizons with the 1.1 update by adding four new members to the Merfolk Kingdom. Get to know the ocean dwellers by building relationships with them through interacting and gifts. Learning their likes and dislikes will lead to them opening up to you about their story, but some of them might even fall in love with you! There’s even a new wedding location to discover for those of you who enjoy hunting down all of the options.

Of course, the name of this game is farming, and Coral Island certainly hasn’t left out the ocean for that. 1.1 will introduce a new plot of land for you to decorate and farm on. This time, it’s located under the water! There are new ocean crops for you to plant, as well as critters to raise. Take care of the aquatic creatures inspired by real life animals like the shellcluck, mermoo, inkhog, carapoultry, and seashroud. Each one produces new and useful products. And of course there is new ocean decor to decorate your underwater farm with.

The ocean and Merfolk aren’t the only ones being added to this update. According to the roadmap for Coral Island, 1.1 includes some other fun stuff. Players will finally get access to the Savannah, as well as new storylines and content. You’ll get to raise ostriches and buffalos on your farm, as well. Plus, there’s a new town rank to achieve, attractions, a tourist system, more outfits and decor, improvements to the dialogue system, and improvements to hats!

    Release Date

Coral Island’s 1.1 update is expected to release for Beta Access on May 20th! There will likely be more info about the full roll out for all platforms at a later date. You can find the game on Steam.

If you haven’t kept an eye on Echoes of the Plum Grove by developer Unwound Games, you should check it out now! In this charming game, you start a brand new life in Honeywood. There, you’re given a plot of land after you’ve washed up on the shores of the island. It’s up to you to turn that plot into a functional, prosperous farm. Of course, there’s much more to the game than just farming!

Echoes of the Plum Grove is a casual, cozy farm simulator where your decisions directly influence your gameplay. What you plant on the farm, the items you stock up on to survive winter, and the friends you make determine the way Honeywood will develop. You can even make enemies! Of course, survival is your number one priority, but don’t forget to take time to indulge in the festivities the town has to offer. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, after all. And unlike other farm sims, there’s a generational aspect to this game. You can get married, have children, and when your character dies, you can continue the game playing as one of your children or other relatives. This lends a fun and fresh element to the game you don’t often see!

    Release Date

Echoes of the Plum Grove has finally been released on Steam, too!  It’s even on sale for 10% off until May 6th, so if you’ve been eyeing this game, now’s a great time to pick it up.

Mushroom Musume by developer Mortally Moonstruck Games is a charming, but slightly spooky child-raising sim. Think Princess Maker or Volcano Princess, but instead, you’re raising a mushroom girl! As the story goes, there’s a lonely Recluse who has the overwhelming desire to raise a child of their own. One day, the strange Witch of the Woods wanders by and overhears the Recluse’s wish. She has a twisted sense of humor, though, and gifts the Recluse with a pot of dirt. That pot of dirt turns out to contain a mushroom daughter!

Your job is to guide the Recluse through life as a parent. Parenting a human is no walk in the park, and as Mushroom Musume shows, parenting a mushroom isn’t either! Your choices shape her future and what type of mushroom she becomes as an adult. She’ll make her own choices, too, like angering the fae or falling in love. You’ll even unearth a vast fairytale world through your adventures. Collect memories, colors, music, and more in the Mushroom Almanac. Replay the game to discover all the possible endings, too!

    Release Date

Mushroom Musume is set to release on Steam in Q4 of this year!
