Character Customizations have never been greater in Zelda: Breath of the Wild on Nintendo Switch and Wii U than any previous Zelda game in the franchise. From huge hoods, to pointy hats and bandanas – you have dozens of choices to dress up Link in any fashion you may desire. However, long time Zelda fans are wondering where the Iconic Pointy green hat is hidden, or why it didn’t make it into the game?

The answer comes from Breath of the Wild art director Satoru Takizawa who claims ” As the graphic fidelity has increased it becomes more difficult to make that hat look cool. ” He also stated that ” As the game becomes more realistic it’s difficult to present it in a way that’s appealing. ” Satoru also explains that in recent games fans were often criticizing the hat ” If you look at Twilight Princess, I really made the hat long, so it would flap in the wind and move around. But because of that people were like ‘What’s he got? What’s in that hat?’ We’re reaching our limits as to how we can make it look cool. ”

    From Reddit User: Mitch3315

It may seem like a good explanation, but Zelda fans are still disappointed not to be able to wear the iconic hat. However, upon finishing the 120 Shrines you will be rewarded the well known and classic Green Zelda Tunic. If you are far away from finishing Breath of the Wild, but still want to have an alternative to the green tunic, you can also unlock the slightly more modern looking green tunic using your Amiibos.

    • Link Amiibo: This Amiibo can get you some pieces from the Armor of Time

Zelda: Breath of the Wild is an exclusive title for the Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo Wii U. The game is created and developed by Nintendo, therefore it is intended to be played on a Nintendo branded console only. However, a dedicated community has taken on a huge job to port the game to be playable on a Windows Computer. The game is being ported to an emulator that will allow anyone running the piece of software to play the game on a PC.

Exzap, who is working on the Cemu Emulator that will essentially make it possible to play Zelda: Breath of the Wild on a PC, has posted a video showing how the game currently runs using the emulator. A release window for the completion of the port and the Cemu emulator is not given. It is important to note that using an Emulator and playing Zelda on a PC is against Nintendos policies. Nintendo has a long history of facing off against those who violate its copyright, but the Nintendo emulation scene is big. But the game is best enjoyed on a Nintendo home console, where it belongs.
