Reggie Fils-Aimé, former president of Nintendo America, will be a key component in revamping GameStop.

GameStop has been in the limelight for some time now, but not necessarily for good reasons. It is a widely known fact that GameStop is need of a bit of a makeover. Between the poor upkeep and uninterested employees, going to GameStop can sometimes feel like more of a chore than an adventure.

It does seem, however, that a re-imagining may be exactly what is in the works for this declining franchise. With Reggie Fils-Aimé joining the board of directors, one could safely assume that GameStop isn’t looking to go out without a fight. After all, with a new coat of a paint and a gimmick or two, GameStop could easily become the next hotspot for gamers on the go.

It is certainly an exciting change, and it will be great to see some improvements made to this company that has helped to mold the histories of so many gamers. Back in the day of Halo tournaments held at the local store, I never would have imagined that GameStop would have a hard time in a future run by the gaming community.
