Japanese magazine Nintendo Dream is featuring Animal Crossing New Horizons in its upcoming issue promising a bunch of new details and screenshots for the upcoming installment in the Animal Crossing franchise.

It hasn’t even been a week since we had the last Nintendo Direct which only featured Pokemon. Fans of the Animal Crossing games were hoping to hear something new about ACNH but were left empty handed. Now there are a few more details pointing at a New Nintendo Direct that may even be featuring Animal Crossing!

Pokemon Direct and Nintendo Direct often company each other!

Recent years have shown that Pokemon Directs are often clustered together with a full Nintendo Direct. Take a look at some recent examples below:

With mostly one to two weeks between the Pokemon and Nintendo Direct it would be somewhat safe to assume we should be getting one of the traditional Nintendo Directs in January – after all we have been getting one in January for the past five years!

Nintendo Dream to feature Animal Crossing New Horizons

Nintendo Dream is an extremely popular gaming magazine in Japan focused on Nintendo games only. The next issue to be released on January 21st will be featuring Animal Crossing New Horizons in its full glory. The entire front cover of the magazine is covered din Animal Crossing goodness.

Nintendo usually takes it upon themselves to release information about upcoming games. I would think that Nintendo is planning to release New Horizons news prior to the release of the magazine on January 21st – again pointing at an imminent Nintendo Direct.

When will the next Nintendo Direct Air?

There is no way to predict a Nintendo Direct with 100% certainty but given all the “evidence” and based on how Nintendo handled it in the past I would be more surprised if we didn’t get an announcement for a new Nintendo Direct tomorrow (January 14th) with an air date on Thursday January 16th!

Of course this is all wild speculation – but one thing remains sure, Animal Crossing New Horizons will release on March 20th, 2020 on Nintendo Switch and at one point or another Nintendo will be releasing some more information, gameplay footage and more about the game! I am so excited!
