The rumor mill around Animal Crossing Switch is running on its highest setting. Only recently a rumor of an April release date has been circulating around the internet. Now a UK based online retailer may have spilled the beans on a couple of upcoming Nintendo titles once again. Base.com lists Welcome to Animal Crossing, presumably the title for the upcoming Nintendo Switch installment, with a release date of September 13, 2019. 

While this can just be an accident, or a shot in the dark by the retailer, there are some interesting facts about it. The latest release date rumor was April 29th, which we covered here. As outlined in the article, Nintendo usually releases games on Fridays, however April 29th, as you may have guessed, is not a Friday but a Monday. 

September 13th, 2019 falls on a Friday which is a day Nintendo usually releases games on. September 13th, 2018 was also the exact same date Nintendo first announced the game during its Nintendo Direct Showcase. Furthermore the online shop lists the games name as Welcome to Animal Crossing, an interesting title for the upcoming game. 

We have done some more research on the name and found out that a private domain registration for welcometoanimalcrossing.com has been made only days after the reveal of Animal Crossing Switch. This is a common practice for video game developers to ensure they have the domain name needed for their games long before the actual title is announced to the public. 

With so many rumors, it’s hard to tell whats right and what is not. We want to emphasize that all of this is speculation and may not be true. The title and/or release date is unknown and not confirmed by Nintendo at this point. Now we have another scenario of possible release dates and names for the upcoming Animal Crossing Switch game. Whether it will be Welcome to Animal Crossing or something else, we know that our favorite village simulator is coming to Nintendo Switch in the not so distant future – hopefully.
