I love cats. I also enjoy both mystery and adventure games. In the upcoming Peace Island, we get an alluring combination of all of these things. Currently in development by Eric Blumrich and a small team of experienced devs (known for games like Prune and Grand Theft Auto V), this game is already gathering attention online.

    About Peace Island:

You’ll play as cats! Starting out, you’ll be playing as the cat named Elizabeth. The day before, she was was coaxed into her pet taxi and dreading a trip to the veterinarian. She never sees the vet, though, instead falling asleep. When she awakes the next day, her human is nowhere to be found and the door is open.

Throughout the game, you will meet 8 other cats. You’ll need to gain the trust of these cats and eventually gain their friendship. At different points, you will control each of the different cats. Each one has unique strengths, weaknesses, and roles.

The world of Peace Island – outside from being Peace Island – is an open-world based on real-life Maine. Inside the island are 4 defined communities. These are Peace City Landing, Greenwood Farms, Ellison Heights, and LaFlamme Fishworks. These are settlements, farmlands, coastlines, woodlands, and more!

The story of the game is that the humans have all gone missing. The mystery is plentiful. There are an invasive species on the islands, artifacts and documents left behind, and 200 years worth of alternate history to unravel. Not only do you have to figure out what happened to the humans, you have to use the divergent storylines to decide if they are worth bringing back.

    Game Features:

    • Cooperate – You’ll have to gain the trust and build friendships with the other cats. You’re going to need them!
    • Discover – It’s up to you to find and piece together all the evidence.
    • Explore – The open-world is huge and scattered with lots of details.
    • Infiltrate – To solve the mystery, you’re going to have to get inside the buildings. It may take more skill to find a way into some of them.

Peace Island is currently in development for PC, Mac, and Oculus VR. There is no set release date, yet, but a beta should be coming soon. You can check out more and support the game on Patreon. You can also see daily screenshots on Twitter.

Don’t worry – I have your fill of cat games! Take a look at The Good Life, Another Sight, and Calico – just to get started. I also have mystery game suggestions – like the newest iteration of Layton’s Mystery Journey and the kooky Lord Winklebottom Investigates.

Concrete Genie is a new action adventure game exclusively for the PlayStation 4. The game is being developed by PixelOpus and produced by Sony Interactive Entertainment. I simply can’t wait to play this beautiful game starting October 8th.

    About Concrete Genie:

The game follows Ash, a bullied teenager. Ash lives in the former fishing town of Denska. Denska is all but abandoned thanks to an oil spill. Now, the town’s water is inky and poisoned and the town is covered in a force called Darkness.

Ash is creative and spends his days working on his sketchbook. After bullies snatch the book and rip out the pages, Ash embarks on a journey to save them. Along the way, he discovers his creativity might just be what saves Denska.

You will follow and control Ash with a 3rd person perspective. You’ll use his magical Living Paint to paint creatures, called Genies, on the town walls. By creating colorful street art, Denska will slowly be restored. You will also find the lost pages of Ash’s sketchbook. Each page will expand the design toolset.

According to developers, each creature you paint will have its own personality and abilities. This is thanks to each one having its own A.I.

The game will launch with both a VR Experience Mode and a VR Free Paint Mode. In VR Experience Mode, you will follow a Genie and help it discover a new, mysterious power. This mode will then unlock VR Free Paint Mode. In VR Free Paint Mode, you’ll move your paintbrush by using PlayStation Move Motion Controllers. How awesome is that!

You can learn more about the game on PlayStation’s website.  Want more beautiful games? Check out Ailuri or Mr. Tic Toc & the Endless City. Interested in PlayStation games? We recommend checking out the gorgeous Eastshade.

We at myPotatoGames absolutely love playing with and taking care of animals. With the rise of virtual reality games, we took a look at the most recent and adorable releases of games. What better way is there to interact with animals then to feel like you’re actually there! Note that a PlayStation VR and PlayStation Camera are required to play, with the exception of Konrad the Kitten. Konrad the Kitten will require a virtual reality headset but not necessarily the PS brand (see available platforms below). All of the games mentioned below are available to play right now!

    Konrad the Kitten

Konrad the Kitten, created by FusionPlay, was released a year ago but is now getting the best update ever; the addition of kittens. You need to take care of a cat named Konrad by making him play, eat, clean himself or snooze. When switching the game into the optional “Plushy-Mode,” the game asks you to attach your PS Move Controller to the back of a plush toy. Doing so makes your fluffy friend come alive as Konrad in the virtual world. For example, you can hold him in your hands. With the addition of kittens, you can also have Konrad become the nursemaid.

    Updates

Now, when your energy runs out, it becomes night in Konrad’s world. During the night, little kittens wake up and need the help of Konrad. You need to make sure Konrad cares for these kittens and cleans, feeds and plays with them. Some might even get lost in the world and need to be found and brought back home by Konrad. When all those tiny babies are happy, the night ends, Konrad’s energy is restored and a new day begins.

By leveling up Konrad, you unlock up to nine different little kittens step by step. Each kitten is unique and has its preferences. For example, how often it wants to eat or play. The new updates are available now as of April 24th, 2019. Buy it on the PlayStation Store, Steam, Oculus, or Vive. For more information on what to expect and other new changes to the game, go here.

    Jupiter & Mars

Dive into a neon seascape as a dolphin with enhanced echolocation powers, and an AI partner, into a world transformed by water. Solve puzzles, hunt for treasure, meet legendary sea creatures, shut down the remnants of mankind’s legacy, and bring the bleached underwater world back to life!

Jupiter & Mars is an underwater adventure set in a future-Earth in which everything science warned us about has come to pass: sea levels have risen from melting ice caps and climate change. As a result, the coastal cities are all but completely submerged. Since man’s disappearance, the oceans have begun to reclaim themselves, with coral and nearly extinct creatures returning to their once-thriving levels. But the artifacts of man’s presence still remain, and an elite race of whales known as the Elders enlist Jupiter and Mars to help neutralize a global network of machines that are disrupting sea life.

Jupiter & Mars, published by Tigertron, launched on Earth Day, Monday, April 22nd, 2019, exclusively for the PlayStation 4 and PS VR. Find out more about it here!

    Falcon Age

Falcon Age is a first-person, single-player action adventure. Play as Ara and learn to hunt, gather, and fight to reclaim your cultural legacy in the lost art of falcon hunting. Fight against a force of automated colonizers. Bond with a baby falcon and go on an adventure on PlayStation 4 or immersive VR with PS VR.

The game starts on a dying colony planet with its culture destroyed, resources depleted, and turned into a desert by machine invaders. Ara’s been wrongfully thrown in jail for a minor infraction. While she awaits her fate in a lonely cell, she passes the time by befriending a young falcon. Together they escape and set off on an adventure to help the resistance reclaim their freedom and drive off the invaders.

Falcon Age, created by Outerloop Games, is available now as of April 19th, 2019. For more information on the game, go to their official website here.
