For those that are unaware, State of Play is basically the Nintendo Direct of PlayStation. It is a live stream that usually displays what is coming in the near future for PlayStation. In the last State of Play, we got a look at some pretty interesting games, like Humanity and The Last Of Us Part 2. It has been mentioned that there will likely be no coverage of the next generation system for PlayStation, the Playstation 5.
State of Play is available to view through multiple streaming services, like Twitch, Youtube, Facebook and Twitter. So for all you PlayStation owners out there, stayed tuned for some sweet news on what’s just around the corner.
The show will last around 20 minutes, and will begin at 6 a.m. PT. Sid Shuman, Senior Director of SIE Content Communications, mentioned in the recent PlayStation blog post that this State of Play will include “new game reveals, release date announcements, new gameplay footage, PlayStation Worldwide Studios updates, and more”.
If information on the Playstation 5 is what you were after, you can check out my coverage of this next generation console.

Nostalgia titles will forever be a cornerstone in the gaming world. We can’t get enough of that feeling that washes over us when playing a throwback, and you are instantly teleported to a time when life was simpler, less tedious. Aside from maybe Mario, not many titles instill that emotion quite so deeply as Sonic does. Sonic has had much time in the spotlight as of late, with the recently postponed release of his very own feature film. What better time to allow free access to a more recent installment in the series with Sonic Mania.
For those of you that missed it, Sonic Mania was released in 2017, and was created as a celebration of Sonic The Hedgehog’s 25th anniversary. It featured redesigns of levels from past games, as well as some new additions. It is a 2D side-scroller, unlike a few of the other heart-thumping titles in the series created for the newer gen consoles, like Team Sonic Racing. In Sonic Mania, you get to play as Sonic, Tails and Knuckles, for all the dashing, flying, and climbing action you could want.
Sonic Mania comes to PlayStation Plus starting tomorrow, June 4th, 2019. Every month, PlayStation Plus members get access to two free downloads of whatever titles Sony picks for that month. This months selections are Sonic Mania, obviously, and Borderlands: The Handsome Collection. If you are not a member of PlayStation Plus and would like to be, you can do so by clicking here. A PlayStation Plus membership costs $9.99 per month, or $59.99 per year.
