Yesterday during Gamescom 2019 Opening Night Live, one of the announcements by Sony surprised us. The live-action interactive adventure Erica, which was in development by Flavourworks for a few years, is out now! You get to play this thrilling murder mystery exclusively on PS4 for only $9.99 US. Take control of the narrative during this feature-length film/video game by making your own choices when prompted. You can even download the companion app for your mobile device to use as your controller (iOS, Android). However, do take note that this game is rated M for language, gore, etc. We here at myPotatoGames wanted to highlight this game for its easy difficulty and beautifully haunting score by acclaimed composer Austin Wintory (Pode).

    About Erica

Become Erica, a brave young lady plagued with nightmares of your father’s murder. With the traumatic events that have haunted you as a child dragged back into the light of the present day via grisly new clues, it’s up to you to unearth the shocking truth behind this devastating tragedy. Every choice you make influences how the game develops, with multiple endings awaiting you at the finale of the emotional branching narrative.

    Key Features

    • Ground-breaking live-action technology. Immerse yourself in a feature-length cinematic experience where you can affect the actions playing out onscreen, merging high-fidelity Hollywood production values with engaging, tactile gameplay.
    • Make key choices via interactive storytelling. Alter the path of the game’s branching narrative by making meaningful decisions that have a profound effect on how the story plays out. Choose how Erica interacts with other characters through conversation, dramatically shaping her relationship with them.
    • Get closer to the story with intuitive controls. Reach into Erica’s world with innovative use of the DUALSHOCK®4 wireless controller’s touch pad or your mobile device’s touchscreen. Wipe steam off a mirror, lift a record needle onto vinyl, peek around corners to spy on conversations, and even control how slowly you open doors.
    • A filmic score filled with tension. Get wrapped up in every moment via a haunting soundtrack from Austin Wintory, the award-winning composer of games such as Journey, The Banner Sage 3, and Assassin’s Creed Syndicate.
