Help turn the lovely little hamlet of Rolling Hills into a popular food destination for tourists. Rolling Hills lets you build your recipe repertoire by collecting new recipes that suit the tastes of the townsfolk. Mushroom Musume by developer Mortally Moonstruck Games is a charming, but slightly spooky child-raising sim. Think Princess Maker or Volcano Princess, but instead, you’re raising a mushroom girl! As the story goes, there’s a lonely Recluse who has the overwhelming desire to raise a child of their own. One day, the strange Witch of the Woods wanders by and overhears the Recluse’s wish. She has a twisted sense of humor, though, and gifts the Recluse with a pot of dirt. That pot of dirt turns out to contain a mushroom daughter!
Your job is to guide the Recluse through life as a parent. Parenting a human is no walk in the park, and as Mushroom Musume shows, parenting a mushroom isn’t either! Your choices shape her future and what type of mushroom she becomes as an adult. She’ll make her own choices, too, like angering the fae or falling in love. You’ll even unearth a vast fairytale world through your adventures. Collect memories, colors, music, and more in the Mushroom Almanac. Replay the game to discover all the possible endings, too!

Tales of the Shire has been drip-feeding gamers teaser images and short videos via their Instagram since September of last year. From the snippets and absolute lack of information about the game, people have speculated that it would be a cozy game that takes place in the Shire with our favorite halfling people (obviously). Otherwise, there has been no real information on what the gameplay is going to be like, until now! Wētā Workshop has teamed up with Private Division to bring this lovely-looking game to life. If you’re unfamiliar with Wētā Workshop, they’re responsible for creating many of the memorable props, weapons, armor, and costumes for the The Lord of the Rings film trilogy.
Now, they’re bringing us a cozy hobbit experience with Tales of the Shire! In this game, you get to live the life of a hobbit in the serene landscapes of the Shire. Start by creating your very own hobbit. Then, spend your idyllic days gardening, fishing, or cooking meals for fellow hobbit friends. Even forage for fruits and herbs or trade with locals. Explore the picturesque forests and lakes that surround your home. Plus, take advantage of the grid-less placement mechanic to decorate your very own hobbit hole! Place furniture and decor wherever you like to create your perfect home for you.
This is sure to be a great cozy game for those of you who loved The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit and always wanted to experience the charming, relaxing life of the hobbits!

If you’ve been searching for a short, light-hearted game that’s also free, then you should take a look at The Ghost Cage by developer SeaPhoenix. This isn’t a horror game, just a fun little game where a ghost is haunting you. Play as Isabel, who has just moved to a new home where a ghost lives. How you react to the ghost determines the trajectory of your story. Are you afraid of it or will you try to befriend it? Or maybe you’ll try to drive it from your home! However you decide to deal with the ghost, you’ll encounter one of several endings. The Ghost Cage has sad, happy, heartwarming, and even an amusing ending for you to discover.
