Are you looking for a simple, but gorgeous exploration game with no combat? Then Submerged: Hidden Depths is perfect for you! This game is a self-described third-person “relaxploration” adventure where you simply explore a the ruins of a world. You take on the roles of Miku and Taku. Miku is cursed with a mysterious power that she’s determined to use for good, and Taku simply doesn’t want it to tear them apart.

Submerged: Hidden Depths will take you on a relaxing, low-stakes journey through the submerged ruins of a drowned city. There, you’ll discover the crumbling remnants of skyscrapers and streets as you search for the secrets of what happened. You’ll encounter obstacles along the way, and will need to solve puzzles to overcome them. You’ll simultaneously learn the story of the brother and sister pair as you explore the ruined city, too. Plus, you can collect items and upgrade your trusty boat!

    Ready for your laid-back adventure?

    Release Date

You can find the game on Steam, Epic Games, PlayStation, and Xbox now. And while Submerged: Hidden Depths is a sequel, it’s not necessary to have played the first game. However, you can find the first game, Submerged, on Steam, too!

Eastshade is another beautiful walking simulator.

Farm, Colonize, Build Relationships, Explore a Mysterious Planet

The publisher Freedom Games (Cat Cafe Manager), as part of IGN Summer of Gaming 2022, showcased their upcoming indie games. One of them included a sci-fi farming simulation game called One Lonely Outpost. In a barren alien world you’ll be in charge of building a colony and decide on growing crops and raising livestock naturally or synthetically (hybrid plants, spliced genes).

To bring colonists over, you’ll have to terraform your desert with a trusty robotic pet. That includes, fertilizing the ground, securing water sources, and making the air breathable. Depending on what you do, new people will come to your outpost like mechanics, environmental engineers, and more. You’ll even get to befriend them or romance them!

Play with up to 3 online friends on the same or separate farms in the same community. Each player can even form their own relationships within the same colony!

Releasing in Q3 2022 for PC

You can Wishlist the game on Steam here, and on The Epic Games Store here. Continue following us here for more games throughout The Summer Game Fest!

Full Version Includes New Areas, Wildlands, Shopping, Card Battles, Friendly Neighbours, Mini-Games, Farming, Dancing, Rollerskating and More!

During Nintendo’s Indie World Showcase (May 2022), we were treated with a never-before-seen Ooblets trailer. Announcing, version 1.0 coming to the Switch this Summer! That means that the adorable creature-collecting dance-partying adventure simulation game will be leaving Early Access and releasing in full!

A lot of updates have been added since Ooblets launched in 2020. Most recently the additional feature of running your own store. In case you have been waiting for the full version of the game and haven’t kept up with news, Ooblets will now have new levels and a complete campaign. For example, Port Foward includes a boardwalk where you buy tokens to play arcade games/mini-games. Furthermore, Pantsabear Hill is an area which is covered in snow, puzzles, and Pantsabears. You’ll also have many more accessories, clothing, furniture, and over 45 Ooblets to clutter and decorate your farm with.

Ooblets 1.0 Coming to PC, Xbox, Switch This Summer

You can find Ooblets’ official Nintendo Switch listing right here. There isn’t a more specific date other than Summer 2022, however the developers, Glumberland, assure players that “unless something goes really wrong” they will have one soon.

My Time at Portia’s Sequel Will Take You to a New Desert Community

The developers have been hard at work since announcing My Time at Sandrock in 2020 with a new town, new characters, new construction options, new combat system, and even a multiplayer mode!

Before launching into Early Access, many updates have been recently added such as new quests, new monsters, and new NPCs. The biggest one that caught my eye is the advanced workshop customization. Unlike its predecessor, when building your workshop in this game you can place doors and windows, and even the roof yourself! Furthermore, add lights and many other decorations to the interior and exterior.

Available in Early Access May 26th, 2022

My Time at Sandrock, developed by Pathea Games, will officially release on May 26th, 2022 in Early Access on Steam here and the Epic Games Store here at $24.99 US. If you’re a Kickstarter backer, you’ll have access to the closed Beta version very soon! There’s no news on the console versions as of yet but we’ll know more after the tests! If you want to try your hands at a demo, My Time at Sandrock will have a booth at the PAX East convention on April 21st-24th, 2022, so check that out here.

Fan of both relaxing farming and engaging combat? If you’re interest in My Time at Sandrock, you should definitely check out Rune Factory 5 now!

During The Game Awards on December 12th, 2019, Epic Games revealed a trailer indicating there will be a holiday sale and 12 free games starting December 19th, 2019. They’ve already been giving away a game a week through their store front but now until the end of the month, they will be giving away 1 game a day! If it’s anything like the games that were free so far such as Slime Rancher, Oxenfree, and Rime, then the holidays have just gotten that much better!

All you have to do is create an account, open up their launcher, and download the game and keep it forever! Right now you can download A Wolf Among Us here, due to the sequel announcement during The Game Awards, and The Escapists here. If you haven’t already tried out The Escapists by Team17, now would be a great time while we wait for The Survivalists.

Furthermore, we see in the trailer below that the following PC games will be coming next year exclusively to the Epic Games Store: Before We Leave, Bloodroots, Predator: Hunting Grounds, The Red Lantern, Rogue Company, Surgeon Simulator 2, and Totally Reliable Delivery Service. There’s even a Game Awards sale happening right now until December 16th, 2019 which includes the hilarious physics-based game What the Golf? for $12.99 (35% off).

The Epic Games store has been releasing one free game every couple of weeks since they first launched in December 2018. From now until April 4th, 2019 you can go here and download Oxenfree for free! You can then keep the game even after the offer has expired.

Oxenfree, developed by Night School Studio, is a story-driven, supernatural adventure where choices you make affect the outcome of the game and your relationship with other characters. You play as Alex, a young teenager, who brings her new stepbrother to an overnight party on an island. That island used to house a military base but it was decommissioned. When Alex tried to tune an old radio, she inadvertently opened a dimensional rift. While being haunted by ghosts, it is up to you to discover the secrets of the island and to close the rift.

Night School Studio is currently working on another game of the same genre, Afterparty, which will also be available on the Epic Games Store, as well as Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch in 2019. In Afterparty, out-drinking Satan is a must. Find out more while the co-founder and art director discuss the game in their blog here.

For another similar game in tone and in gameplay, check out our review of What Remains of Edith Finch here.
