A particular dating sim/dungeon-crawler has caught the attention of gamers everywhere for its unique and questionable premise. Although, if you’re a fan of Anime, you’re probably not fazed in the slightest. During Nintendo’s Indie World Showcase yesterday (December 10th, 2019), the very same indie game by Kitfox Games (Mondo Museum) was announced to be coming to the Nintendo Switch in 2020! Behold, a game where you can literally fall in love with your weapons; Boyfriend Dungeon!

If you haven’t heard, Boyfriend Dungeon is all about choosing weapons to fight monsters with and then taking them out on dates to level up. Don’t worry, each weapon (total of 7) can transform into humanoids, and there’s one cat in case this wasn’t delightfully weird enough, all with various genders. Think Dream Daddy but the romantic partners aren’t daddies, they’re ‘stabbies’.

Your character is tasked with clearing the creatures in “the dunj” as their summer job and, during your down-time, why not take your weapons out for a stroll on the beach for a job well done and to get to know them better. As the developers like to put it: “A couple that slays together, stays together”. Below are the choices of heart-throbs, or rather heart-piercing, candidates!

Now hopefully we can all still look at our inanimate objects the same way again. Wonder if anyone thinks potatoes are cute? For more information on this “shack-and-slash” and to Wishlist it on Steam, go here!

The people who you have possibly purchased chicken from are now serving us a dating simulator game, I Love You, Colonel Sanders! is heading to Steam this month!

Dating in video games has long been popular with marriage and relationships frequently promoted in games like Stardew Valley, Harvest Moon, Rune Factory and more. I Love You, Colonel Sanders! takes you to cooking school where you eagerly want to date one of your classmates that happens to be Colonel Sanders.

On your mission to getting the perfect date and hopefully find love, you will be faced with difficult life decisions. Every choice you make in the game will have consequences on the relationships you form at school.

The game features 9 characters that according to KFC are totally lovable and interesting. If you are just here for the chicken, you will find that the game has a lot of other things to offer outside of dating Sanders.

I Love You, Colonel Sanders! also teaches you secret recipes, homemade KFC chicken? Yes, please! Cooking battles are also part of the game in which you have to show off you cooking skills much like in the new and upcoming Cooking Mama game!

If you are intrigued, I Love You, Colonel Sanders! can now be wishlisted on Steam and is slated for a release on September 24th.

About a week ago, we gave a sneak peek at the final bachelor (male marriage candidate) in Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town. Though not officially revealed to us by Marvelous, a screenshot of ‘Brandon’ came out at the ChinaJoy convention. Brandon and the final bachelorette…a brand new character…have now been officially revealed! You may now formally be introduced to Brandon and Jennifer. (Names not final until localizer XSEED confirms them.)

Mystery candidates no longer a mystery!

Brandon is an artist (and seems to specialise in wood sculpting) and a brand new character to this remake, not in the original Friends of Mineral Town. Jennifer is a wandering artist who wants to be in tune with nature. Perhaps for that reason, her home appears to be a tent. Will she find a permanent home in your town? At the very least, we believe she is a free-spirited young woman who lives at her own pace.

Marvelous Japan also put up a new trailer where these two new candidates and various other new things were shown. It’s in Japanese, but sharp-eyed viewers have still managed to spot lots of interesting things in it, such as upgraded tools and what looks to be the chocolate cow wandering around in the barn, and many other things. You can see the video right here!

    The full line-up

And with this, all known candidates have been revealed. The line-up of candidate silhouettes Marvelous showed us at the beginning has now been filled in.

It is unknown as of yet if the ‘secret’ candidates in ‘More Friends of Mineral Town’, Gourmet, Kappa and Won, will be returning as marriage options in this remake. At the current time, it seems that they are not. Up until now we only saw a very quick, blurry image of Kappa, now sporting a beret and long hair. We did, however, get a very quick (and tiny!) look at Won at the end of the video. A screenshot of Gourmet was also recently uploaded to Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Towns official (Japanese) site.

And a few other characters, too

Also revealed on the official site are villagers Gotz, a carpenter, and Zack, who in the original Friends of Mineral Town, took care of of shipping your goods for you. He also gave you your first fishing rod! We wonder if events will follow the same path in this remake.

Did you spot anything intriguing when watching the video or perusing the official site? We’d love to hear about anything that caught your interest!

If you’re looking forward to Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town, we’d like to take this opportunity to remind you that Doraemon: Story of Seasons will be out on October 11th.

As E3 2019 is winding down, we here at myPotatoGames would like to list a few games that may have been overshadowed with all of the news going on on Twitter! If you’re a fan of marriages in games like Story of Seasons, or Rune Factory, then maybe these games are perfect for you! See below for the latest news on these very popular dating simulation games!

Dream Daddy: A Dad Dating Simulator

Dream Daddy: A Dad Dating Simulator is now coming to “Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android soon”, says publisher Game Grumps. To celebrate the new releases, the creators have made special mixtapes for each Dad on Spotify here and there may be new characters in the near future! In addition, the game has already been released on Steam and PS4. However, we recommend waiting for the new features if you haven’t already played this.

    About the Game

Dream Daddy: A Dad Dating Simulator is a game where you play as a Dad and your goal is to meet and romance other hot Dads. You and your daughter have just moved into the sleepy seaside town of Maple Bay only to discover that everyone in your neighborhood is a single, dateable Dad! Will you go out with Teacher Dad? Goth Dad? Bad Dad? Or any of the other cool Dads in this game? With minigames, sidequests, and a variety of paths and endings, Dream Daddy: A Dad Dating Simulator is this year’s most anticipated Dad-based game.

    Monster Prom 2: Holiday Season

Monster Prom 2: Holiday Season is the sequel to indie game Monster Prom, a multiplayer dating sim. Beautiful Glitch, the creators based in Spain, have surpassed all of their Kickstarter goals and the game should release sometime in 2020 on PC. This new title is basically 3-games-in-1 with 3 separate vacations you can take: Summer Camp, Winter Retreat and Roadtrip. Moreover, each game is smaller than the original one, but they’re the same size when put together if you want to try out all three!

    About the Original Monster Prom

You have 3 weeks to get a date for Monster Prom! Go through absurd and funny situations, raise your stats and seduce one of your classmates. Beautiful art, bold, unapologetic dialogue and hard choices make up this Multiplayer (1-4 players) Dating Sim. Be your worst self.
