Happy International Dog Day 2019 everyone! To celebrate this most adorable super furry holiday, we want to point out some of our most beloved video games focused around dogs! Here are some video games that put a heavy focus on doggies!
PHOGS!
PHOGS! PHOGS! is a super cute and funny exploration and adventure puzzle title that allows you to control both ends of the same creature, kinda like Fling to the Finish. Think Cat-Dog, but without the cat. Just two adorable canines with a knack for adventure. The two dogs are linked by a stretchy belly with much elasticity, aiding in special and unique movements. PHOGS! is being created by the amazing team at Bit Loom Games, a UK based gaming studio.

Best Friend Forever In Best Friend Forever or BFF for short, you will find yourself living in the most pet friendly town on earth – Rainbow Bay. Here you will settle and move into your very own apartment which you are free to decorate to your liking. But what would a big city home be without the company of our beloved furry friends? Once settled in, you will start caring for your cutsie doggo and begin exploring the beautiful neighborhood filled with dog loving people.

Chicory: A Colorful Tale
Chicory: A Colorful Tale From the creator of the indie smash-hit “Wandersong”, Greg Lobanov, comes an RPG like we’ve never seen before. In Drawdog [working title], you play a doggo on a mission to bring color and art back into the world using only a giant paintbrush. Lobanov’s previous title, Wandersong, received a loving reception and created quite a buzz for it’s beautiful play-style and unique take on an art game. It appears that Drawdog will attempt to do the same, only this time for color instead of sound.

Pupperazzi
Pupperazzi Sundae Month is an indie studio that just announced a new game called Pupperazzi. As the name already reveals, this title will include adorable puppies as well as paparazzis? That is right, players will have to stray through a town in order to spot cute pups and take pictures of them.
In Pupperazzi you will have to come up with creative ways to hunt down the pups by jumping across buildings and running all over town in order to get the best shot of a pup! This is how you get a good snap of the pup in its natural environment and undisturbed.

Doggone
Doggone Racounteur Games focuses on storytelling in their games. Doggone is based on the classic animal story that we’ve seen in so many movies and books – but never before in a video game. Doggone is touted as an emotional rollercoaster. Don’t worry though! They promise a happy ending.
In this puzzle-platformer, you play as a lost English Foxhound trying to find their way home. The game features, what the developers refer to as, “dog things.” These things include smell-o-vision to guide you and the ability to sniff out pathways and hidden items. You can also bark and roll around!

To The Rescue
To The Rescue To The Rescue – Dog Shelter Simulator is a one of a kind game. Who doesn’t love our furry friends? In this game you can run your own puppy shelter and surround yourself with pure cuteness.
To The Rescue is an indie title in which the player jumps into the role of a dog shelter owner. You will have to take responsibility for dozens of cute dogs and hopefully find them a new forever home. Of course the job comes with a lot of work, you will have to make sure the dogs are happy, fed well, healthy and happy in order to maximize their chances to find a new family to join.

You’re a dog wielding a magic paintbrush! Use color to explore, solve puzzles and make friends. From creators on Wandersong + Celeste.
We’ve been following Greg Lobanov’s work on this game, formerly known as Drawdog as the working title, and now we have the full title and the whole picture (pun intended)! Greg Lobanov is an indie game designer based in Vancouver, Canada, and has designed, programmed, and written many indie games. For example: Wandersong, Coin Crypt, Phantasmaburbia, and more. Chicory: A Colorful Tale launched on Kickstarter just yesterday and before we even got the chance to write this article, it surpassed its goal! With 29 more days to go, you can still make a pledge on the Kickstarter campaign here and get in on those rewards/backerkits!

Chicory: A Colorful Tale is an adventure game about a dog wielding a magic paintbrush! Use the power of art to explore, solve puzzles, help your animal friends and restore color to the world. The Brush is a one-of-a-kind artifact that can color the world. Naturally, it needs a wielder, a master artist responsible for all colors and for passing the brush down. The current wielder, Chicory, is immensely talented and beloved by all… until all the color in the land vanishes, and her with it! I guess that leaves it up to you, her number one fan, to take up the brush and fill in for her. Hmm… good luck!
