Many have been saying that Microsofts Xbox Game Showcase was a bit on the lackluster side. I say nay, however. If the news an all new Fable game wasn’t enough to get you riled up, then an all new game from the creators of Sonic definitely should. Balan Wonderland was revealed at the showcase and got an expansive trailer to give us a close look at what to expect from this upcoming Xbox and Nintendo Switch game.
From the trailer, you can see many similarities between this new game, and previous titles developed by Yuji Naka and Naoto Ohshima, the creators of Sonic The Hedgehog. Lots of familiar sound and visual effects, along with the movement and abilities of the characters, gives this game a nostalgic feel, while still being an all new game.
In Balan Wonderland, you are caught in a world outside of your own. You are set on a journey to bring balance to yourself, and the world around you. You will have access to over 80 different costumes, each with unique abilities aiding your progress along the way.
There are twelve different stories that you must explore, all in a magical and whimsical world where anything is possible. The trailer shows just how exciting and unpredictable the tales will really be. The game has much of a floating island feel, and the levels seem to be all floored out in a maze pattern. There will be much thinking involved when figuring out which powers will help the best in each scenario.
