Splatoon 2 First Impression
Splatoon has been one of the most popular games on the Nintendo Wii U. The Nintendo Switch is exclusively receiving the sequel to the beloved game. As Nintendo announced the Testfire weekend, we couldn’t have been more excited to try out the game.
The Tech Side
Let’s get the technical stuff out of the way first. The game is currently running a beta test, Nintendo calls this the ” Testfire “. The purpose is essential to test the server capacity to make sure it can withstand the many people who want to play the game at the same time on launch day. To our surprise we did not experience any issues beside one little glitch were we got disconnected in the lobby waiting for another player.
Game Controls
You can either use the joy-cons or the pro controller, both work perfectly well. You may also use the tilting mechanism to aim at other players, or move around in the game. Even though it may take some time to get used to it, it’s a fun little way to navigate around on the map.
Look and Feel
Splatoon has never looked better than it does on the Nintendo Switch. It runs extremely smoothly, and the graphics are crisp and clear. The goo flying around looks absolutely stunning. No matter if you play in handheld, table top or TV mode the game will perform and look beautifully.
During the 1 hour session we were able to capture just a few screenshots, that you can have a look at below.
