The Pokémon hype is at its peak with a newly released update for Pokémon Go. Fans of the franchise are waiting for news on a possible game released for the Nintendo Switch. The Pokémon Company has broken their silence on a game related information for the hybrid console. Back in September they announced their support for Nintendos new console, but no more details have been revealed since then.
Ishihara has made a few statements towards a possible game in development for the Nintendo Switch. He states “Pokémon has been about being portable, but now there is the Switch, which is a portable home console, so it has a bigger screen and higher specs than we’re used to. ” a fundamental change would have to be made to the game design to make it a good fit for the new console. He further notes that “Apart from main games, we make stuff like Pokkén [Tournament] and [Pokémon Mystery] Dungeon, so I am thinking we should make games that suit the Switch, but at this time I cannot confirm any projects.”
It is yet to see when and how the Pokémon Company will be able to bring a game to the Nintendo Switch. it is certain to say that there will be a new Pokémon game for the console, given that the studio has never skipped a single Nintendo device so far. Last year we have heard some rumors about an ongoing development for a new game within the Pokémon Company. The codenamed Pokémon Stars was suspected to be a game by the Pokémon company for the Switch.
