If you love the Sims kinda building style – you will adore Planet Coaster. In this game you will become a Theme Park owner, not only will you create and craft coasters and other rides from the ground up, but you can also build, decorate and style your theme park with hundreds of thousand of options. Planet Coaster is a sandbox game in which it is your job to create and establish a successful theme park.

For many years the Roller Coaster Tycoon series had the monopoly in the genre. But in 2016 Planet Coaster has created a breathtaking sandbox simulation game that takes a lot of inspiration from the popular The Sims franchise. In this theme park simulation game you don’t just place a Roller Coaster, or a Kiosk, you have the option to set the walls of your new restaurant, paint the walls, roof, chose the style of windows and door, amount of toilets, and the kind of flower you want to place – decorate with an endless amount of options and create a park with all the possibilities your creative heart would could ever desire. You can even change the color of the light a lantern emits.

When you start your sandbox game, all you will have is a few dollars in your bank account, and some people coming into your empty park, expecting to be entertained. You will start by placing some restrooms, some lanterns, a bench, and of course a trash can in case some of your adorable visitors have to throw up from eating too much cotton candy. Then you will be placing your first ride, a carousel or a tiny coaster. You can place a pre-build ride, or build it from the bottom up. You can go into as much detail as you chose, you can change colors, patterns, shapes, angles – make things bigger or smaller. Or you can just drop a ride, set an entrance price and open it. You are in full control of the game, and it is up to you what you wish to focus on. You are free to build a pirate area, a princess village, Game of Thrones style middle age town or whatever you would like to create.

Every Roller Coaster lover will find tremendous joy in creating a coaster, the easy controls make it a blast to build a new ride. You can landscape your park to fit the shape of your coaster, build tunnels and loops, the options have no end. Only after you have placed a few rides, kiosks, souvenir shops and more – then your park really comes to life. Every person who enters your park has it’s own personality and wish, you can follow them around from the moment they enter your Theme Park, go to the restrooms, buy some cotton candy and run to a new ride you just built and opened. If you place a balloon shop, you can watch your guests buy a balloon and carry them around. It is your own little ant farm. If you do a good job with your park, you can see the excitement and feedback from your visitors, and this one of the most rewarding things in the game. The people who come to your park also bring a lot of emotions, you will see kids throwing a tantrum, a couple fitting, or some people just sit on the bench because they have become sick for the your last roller coaster creation that ended up being a little too much on the wild side.
