[dropcap]S[/dropcap]EGA announced a new feature for Sonic Forces, giving players the ability to customize their characters for the first time in the series history. The developer also revealed some new Sonic Forces Gameplay footage. You can watch the beautiful gameplay below.

Sonic Forces Character Customization

“In this just announced gameplay style, players will be equipping their custom Hero Character with one of a variety of powerful unique gadgets called Wispons. Wispons are an evolution of the Color Powers from Sonic Colors and double as both offensive abilities and as a way to platform through levels quickly. Along with the Wispon, the Hero Character will have a grappling hook they can utilize to quickly traverse across zones. Players can also customize the Hero Character’s looks by choosing and swapping between hundreds of accessories and outfit options to change the character’s appearance as they play through the game.”

Wolf – Automatically draws in rings when near them
Rabbit – Has longer invincible time after receiving damage
Cat – Keeps one ring after being hit
Dog – Restarts with five rings after the player dies
Bear – Blows away enemies with a homing attack
Bird – Flies high with double jump abilities
Hedgehog – Collects rings when getting damaged

SEGA states that creating a character will have a big impact on the gameplay “will be a key part of the story, appearing not only in cutscenes, but by being a crucial element in helping Sonic reclaim the world from Eggman’s domination.”

Many fans of the classic Sonic games have waited a long time to see some more traditional 2D side view footage. Sega first announced the game with a trailer showing the game from a 3rd person perspective.

[dropcap]W[/dropcap]onder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap is one of the next games to be released on Nintendo Switch, PS4 and Xbox One. The video game is set to release tomorrow on April 18th. Just in time for the big day, Sega published the new release gameplay trailer for Wonder Boy.

For the few people who may not know, Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap is a remake of the Sega Master System video game ” Wonder Boy III: The Dragon’s Trap “. It is the players job to travel through the beautiful lands, and go on an adventure in order to defeat the dragons. Only then you will be able to return back to human  form, after being a lizard man for years. The remake features stunningly beautiful 2D hand drawn graphics, in addition to an all new soundtrack. The game is not just a simple re-make it adds some new features as well. The option to play on a different difficulty, and to play as a female are all new options first seen in Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap on Nintendo Switch.

The first stunning looking gameplay video for SEGAs new Sonic has finally been released. Sega Forces will be coming out later this year. The video was presented at the SXSW yesterday, with not much additional information on the game itself. The new Sonic is set to arrive on Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC.

The new Sonic Forces is set in a post-apocalyptic scenario with robots destroying the planet. The game features a new engine with all new graphics as well.
