Concerned Ape, Eric Barone, recently shared his feelings on what is to come for his insanely popular title.

Without doubt, Stardew Valley is currently one of the greatest games on the market. Beloved by millions, the game is packed to the gills with features, has limited bugs, and seems to keep growing all the time. But how long exactly can we expect this game to grow? The creator of Stardew recently answered the questions during a livestream tournament of his game.

Many players have been wondering what’s next for Stardew, and if there even will be a “next” for the game. Unfortunately, while addressing the issue, we did not get a solid answer. Eric mentions, “I’m not saying there’s going to be another Stardew Valley update. I don’t even know at this point. Right now I am focused on my next game. So, we’ll see.”

While his new game will surely be taking up a majority of his time, there is no telling what might still come in the future of Stardew, as it has become a sort of group project as well.

“I would not be surprised if there’s another Stardew Valley update, or multiple updates, or a Stardew Valley 2. Who knows? There’s isn’t currently a Stardew Valley 2; after 1.5, I’ll decide what the next step for Stardew Valley is. But I would say there will probably be another step for Stardew Valley. In the meantime, I’m also working on a couple of new projects – solo projects – so I have plenty to do.”

So it looks it’s still kinda up in the air what the future will hold for ConcernedApe. No doubt we can still expect many great and wonderful things.

For more great games in the farming genre, Luna’s Fishing Garden is releasing soon on Switch.

Eric has just announced that the Stardew Valley Board Game will be seeing a restock in the near future.

For those that may have missed it, not too long ago the creator of Stardew Valley released an official board game based on his smash hit game. The board game has been instantly adsorbed by Stardew fans all over the world, and has been praised for its depth and varied gameplay. The level of features give the Stardew board game a level of replay-ability that is actually reminiscent of the digital version.

In a recent Tweet, Eric announced that the company behind the creation o f the board game itself has been working very hard to ensure that there is a new shipment of games in the works as we speak. The production team sites recent global events as the reason for the hold up, which is more than understandable.

So for all you who missed out on the first run, and who refuse to pay those dirty scalpers a single honest penny, rest easy knowing that a new batch is surely on the way. For more information on the game itself, you can see my coverage here, and also check out the trailer below.

There is now a mod for Stardew Valley that allows you to see your fish before you catch them.

Time to once again boot up the best farming simulator ever for another run through. Only this time, you will actually feel inclined to to spend your days by the water, doing more fishing than ever before.

Nexus Mods has published a new feature (created by user shekurika) for the game that allows you to see all the little fishies before you catch them, greatly reducing the grind that is usually associated with Stardew’s fishing mechanism.

    Stardew fish mod

The mod uses the fish tank sprites as a visual representation to show the players what fish are currently catchable in the area. As some fish do not have sprites in the game yet, you can still expect some surprises (that is until those sprites are added to the game).

This new addition could not have come at a better time, as players are still very much enjoying update 1.5, which is still slated for a release on mobile. The new update conveniently brought in the beach biome, which can now be even more fun with this new mod.

To get a closer look at everything that came with the new update, you can check out my coverage here.

Check out these Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley inspired games.

Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley have captured the hearts of millions of fans, it just makes sense that more and more games try to combine the best out of the two.

If you enjoy at least one – but lets be honest, most likely both of these adorable games, then there is a chance some of these hybrid games will sneak into your ever growing games library one day.

Lets take a look at four carefully selected games that capture the spirit out of our two beloved games.

    Potion Permit

In Potion Permit you find yourself in a cute quaint village filled with dozens of unique characters that may need just a little of your help as some of them encounter health issues. It is your job to accurately diagnose their symptoms and then go exploring to find the proper herbs to create a potion that will help them feel better. Potion Permit lets you build and decorate your home, adventuring, make friendships and so much more!

Potion Permit is truly magical, if you love to fire up your cauldron head over here.

    Kitaria Fables

In this game you jump into the role of a fully customizable kitten that may appear absolutely adorable but packs a bunch of powers that are needed to fulfill the many requests villagers may ask you to help them with.

You find yourself in a village where you can also have your very own home. Whenever you hang out at your house you can customize the look and feel of your cat-tastic character. But the fun awaits when you leave your four walls. Villagers of all kinds are populating the cozy village around you.

Kitaria Fables is coming to Nintendo Switch and all other major platforms.

    Coral Island

You start the game by arriving as a newbie to a small island, with only five-hundred gold in your pocket. Luckily, that is just enough to buy yourself a farm to start a grand new life in this wonderful place. Get to know the locals and start to expand your farm to help the local community thrive. Do your best to create a magnificent ecosystem that will survive through the changing seasons.

Take a closer look at Coral Island here.

Eric has just announced that, while still in the works, update 1.5 is indeed still coming to mobile.

Stardew Valley is growing and expanding its reach every day. Now that it is available on nearly every console, it is about time to get the update on the same level. To that effect, Eric has been working very hard to make sure that the update is properly ported to mobile. In a recent Tweet, Eric mentions that he had to outsource to a new company to get this update where it needs to be, and working correctly.

For anyone who needs a quick reminder, there is quite a bit of new content in update 1.5. The full list of changes and additions is actually quite lengthy, but if you would like to see everything that has changed with 1.5, you can see the devlog here. The page spells out every item and instance of change that came with the 1.5 update for PC, and as there is currently no exact page for the console version, this is as close as we get, for now.

You can be pretty sure, however, that most (if not all) the PC changes will also be for console and mobile (if they apply).

For more great news from the farming and life sim genre, Monster Harvest is releasing for Nintendo Switch soon.
