    My Time at Portia is finally out on consoles such as Playstation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. While the PC version of the game was praised with amazing reviews, the console counterpart was lacking a few features and was plagued with long loading times at the beginning. Developer Pathea has since then improved the loading times and with todays patch, many of the missing features finally made it into the game as well!

    Team 17 publisher behind my Time at Portia and other gems such as Overcook 1 and 2 has released the patch notes for todays update. The Nintendo Switch version of the game received tons of new features, including birthdays, a whole lots of new fashionable clothing items, more areas to explore and so much more.

    Beyond new gaming features My Time at Portia on Nintendo Switch received a performance boost. Team 17 says the new update will help combat lag and stuttering issues that some players may have experienced.

    • Added new main storyline.
    • Added features after marriage, including missions relating to anniversary, birthday parties for players and spouse, and side quests.
    • Added controller rumble.
    • Added side quests for Penny, Sam, Arlo, Alice, Emily and Ginger.
    • New content and changes to hiring Ack, Ack’s functions and lvl 2 relic scanner adjustments.
    • Added baby system/adoption system. (Requires 12 hearts with your spouse to unlock)
    • Added party system. This will require a banquet table.
    • Added birthday for players. New players can choose their birthday when they first start the game. Other players can choose their birthday when you load the game after this update.
    • Added new conversations, clothing, diagrams and crafting recipes.
    • Added food ordering system for single person.
    • Players can now mine in all categories and find new relics in the abandoned ruins in the swamp.
    • Added swing for single person.
    • Added new relationship levels with Pinky, Scraps, and QQ.
    • Added dating event – chatting by the sea.
    • Added reward for collecting 60 exhibitions in museum – billiards.
    • Added revival after death. After death, the player will respawn outside their house.
    • Added horse rental expiration, ruin payment expiration, and regular meeting reminders.
    • Added ‘king’ fish type to all fish and collection in the museum.
    • Added flying mount – robopig rider.
    • Added Game Speed in the settings, which can extend the in-game day.
    • Added the position adjustment feature for exhibition items in the museum when you have a good relationship with Merlin.

    • Assembly diagrams received in missions can be purchased in the research centre.
    • Adjustments to missions, Rewards and requirements.
    • Adjusted the relationship points decrease when you end a romantic relationship
    • Changed the payment method to the Tree Farm and Mining company to a monthly payment.
    • Adjustments to item appearances and wishlist gifts
    • Adjusted the sell condition of several main story related items.
    • Adjusted the drop rate and the reward rate of several items and lowered the difficulty of obtaining them.
    • Adjusted the way to dye furniture. The player will need to have pigments in hand to change colour.
    • Fixed various bugs affecting the factory. After this patch, players will need to move the factory at A&G construction company to correct any issues.
    • Added a diagram for the Triple Barrel Snakebite at Total Tools (the item has been deleted from the worktable and players can buy it after fixing the lift).
    • Added a time limit to Gust’s conversation after The Second Key mission. If you missed the conversation in this time limit, you will not receive it again.
    • Fixed an issue where you could not delete photos in the “Scenery” album.
    • Fixed an issue with the payphone’s dialogue where Spanish text would display when playing in Italian.
    • Fixed several instances of overlapping text in multiple languages that affected various Menus.
    • Fixed some instances of holes in the geometry in the Hazardous Ruins.
    • Fixed an issue where you could get incorrect rewards for completing a sparring match.
    • Fixed an issue where loot from enemies would continually be picked up and dropped when the player had a full inventory.
    • Fixed multiple issues that affected furniture that allowed you to display items in your house, such as cupboards.
    • Fixed a pathing issue that caused NPCs to move back and forth on the spot during event days.
    • Fixed an issue where large black squares could appear on screen in the Abandoned Ruins.
    • Optimised the loading icon animation.
    • Fixed an issue where players could get stuck on collision inside the Collapsed Wasteland.
    • Optimised performance in multiple areas.
    • Fixed multiple issues related to players backing up the same save file repeatedly.
    • Fixed a crash when taking a photo while taking a balloon ride while on a date.
    • Fixed an issue where harvesting giant plans would crash the the game.
    • Fixed an issue with save games loading indefinitely and restarting the application.

    My Time At Portia is now available in hard copy in North America!

    In a very recent tweet from the admin of the My Time, we found out that the Portia console version will be getting physical copies in North America starting today! This comes as great news considering the patch for this awesome game is also just around the corner. Finally, we will be able to hold our very own copies of My Time At Portia in the palm of our hands!

    A bit about My Time…

    In case you missed out, My Time At Portia is an absolutely adorable RPG game developed by Pathea Games and published by Team17, the same publishers of such awesome titles as Infinite Minigolf and Automachef. Portia has been hailed by our community for its super cute graphics and adorable interactions system. My Time is currently available on all major consoles (now in hardcopy), as well as on PC.

    The console version of My Time At Portia finally gets major update.

    Team17 recently announced that My Time at Portia will get an update that includes many features already available in the PC version. Many of us were wondering if the console versions would receive any love, and now we know. The update is set to be released “in the coming weeks”, and is said to include more quests, relationship features, character cosmetics and much more.     For those of you who are a little late to the party, My Time at Portia is an expansive, open-world role-playing adventure game. Since its release, it has been touted as one of the greatest Indie games ever, mainly for it’s adorable graphics and simple yet varied gameplay. With many relationships to partake in, and seemingly endless duties about, Portia has comfortably nestled itself into our hearts and game libraries forever!

    My Time At Portia has officially been released on PS4, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch! In this article, we are going to look at the key differences between the PC and Console versions as of the initial launch. Even though the two versions are very similar, there are some very noticeable differences on the console.

    This review is based on an early Playstation 4 Version of My Time At Portia.

    My Time at portia console

    No Voice Acting

    When I first sat down with My Time At Portia for PS4, I noticed a HUGE difference between the two games – NO voice acting. When you go into the character creation on PC, there is an option to choose your voice/accent but on console there is none. None of the characters have voices in the console version which is an interesting change.

    Having played the game for over 40 hours on PC, I ended up reading everything in the voices I know and love. Even though I noticed no voice acting, I honestly preferred it. In the PC version, the voice acting isn’t complete and whenever a text box isn’t voiced, I feel like it takes me out of the game. With not having to worry about switching between the two and just sticking with no voices, I felt like this was a very good decision made my the developers.

    My in-game husband Arlo has an Australian accent on PC but is now a silent, mysterious type.

    Even More Breathtaking Graphics

    In the PC version of My Time At Portia, there is major fog filter. I personally ended up modding the game to get rid of this fog which made the game a lot more crisp, colorful, and beautiful. The great thing about the console version of My Time At Portia is that there is LESS FOG! When I started up the game, I noticed that the colors on PS4 are way more vibrant than the PC.

    Controls

    As with any game switching from PC to console, there are major differences in the controls. Even though the controls were confusing at first, I quickly became familiar with them.

    As of right now you are not able to change the key bindings on the controller. Jumping being “Circle” takes a little time to get used to as it doesn’t feel natural. It would be nice to change some of the keys as they were a little different than what I’m used to in games.

    All the controls are conveniently labeled.

    Long Loading Times

    Unlike the PC version, the game on console has extremely long loading times whenever you enter/leave a building. These loading times can take you out of the game. However, as of last week the developers announced improved loading times on Nintendo Switch which may help. Hopefully they will be announcing the same for PS4 in the future.

    Pre Order Bonus

    As of right now, the PC version doesn’t come with the Housewarming gift set that came as a pre-order bonus for the console versions. The developers have mentioned adding something similar into the game so everyone can have access to the items in the future but there is no further information as of now.

    Final Thoughts

    Overall, I was very impressed with the PC to console port of My Time At Portia. They made some really great decisions on eliminating voice acting and lightening the fog filter. These few differences have made such a big impact in the game that I would highly recommend switching to the console version.

    My Time At Portia is available to purchase on the PS4, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch e-shops. It is also available for purchase on Steam for those that want to stick with the PC version. Have fun exploring the beautiful world of Portia and Happy Gaming!

    My Time at Portia is available on PC via steam for some time now, and it is finally coming to consoles this month. Early videos of the game suggested that the loading times on the Nintendo Switch version are much longer than what PC gamers are experiencing. Today Pathea Games, the developing studio behind the game showed off a video of improved loading times after the latest patch.

    Loading times especially on a hybrid handheld console such as the Nintendo Switch can be bothersome, if they become too frequent and too long. Because of the very detailed visuals and overall complex game, the previous version on Nintendo Switch often had load times reaching nearly one minute, this is essentially long enough to to do daily quests in Animal Crossing Pocket Camp.

    Fans will be happy to know that the video the developers shared today, showed improved load times for my Time at Portia, to make sure this won’t be a concern for players once the game releases on Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4 and Xbox One on April 16th digitally and physically on May 14th.

    My Time At Portia console release date has been announced for April 16th! The game will be available for digital download and physical copy for Playstation 4, XBox One, and Nintendo Switch. All versions will run for $29.99 except the Nintendo Switch physical copy which will be sold for $39.99.

    Along with the announcement of the release date, the devs ran an hour long stream of the game to answer questions on March 20th. Below are all of the questions and answers that they were able to get through and there is plenty of great information so let’s dive right in!

    Will there be more clothes and dresses?

    There are no plans for additional clothes, however, if you pre-order the console version, you’ll receive the “House Warming Gift Set” that includes an exclusive pre-order outfit.

    What are the differences between PC and Console version?

    As of launch, there will be no difference between PC and console version. However, there will be an update in the near future that’ll have additional content for console.

    Which languages are supported?

    English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, and Japanese

    Is there a platinum trophy on PS4?

    There will be trophy support but no word as to what kind of trophies they will be.

    Will Steam owners of the game get the House Warming gift?

    They are hoping to offer it to PC owners but don’t have any further information at this time.

    Is there going to be a Mac version?

    Yes! The dev team is currently working on a mac version and very recently they were working on the final optimization. More information should be released soon.

    Will there be multiplayer in the future?

    There are no plans for multiplayer for My Time in Portia as it was developed to be an immersive single player game.

    How are the loading times?

    Loading times is something the team has been working on optimizing and they’re looking to optimize them even further so it gives everyone a smooth gameplay experience.

    Will there be demos on the console?

    This is something that they’re looking into at the moment so there won’t be one for a little while but the team is talking about getting a demo for PS4, XBox 1, and Switch.

    What is the digital file size on Switch?

    “Roughly 2gb”

    Will there be console updates at the same time as PC?

    If there’s new content planned, yes. However, there is a console update to be released 2-3 weeks after launch but none for PC at this time.

    What will the resolutions be?

    XBox and PS4 will 1080p, Switch when docked will be 900p, and handheld Switch is 720p.

         My Time at Portia is getting an expansive update today, with all new side-quests and an array of bug fixes to make this epic title just that much more awe-inspiring.  A massive update for a game like My Time at Portia can only mean one thing, many more hours rediscovering, building and socializing await. Having had its official release only recently, this is sure to be a very exciting and much welcomed update.
